Our Bereavement Support Services team provides a wide range of services including a freephone Helpline, Online Community, Social Media support, memory making resources and print materials in order to provide consistent, high-quality information and support to bereaved families.
In this role you will provide operational and line management support so that the team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers whilst working on a rota basis. You will also personally provide support to families via our various bereavement support channels.
The Sands Helpline is currently open from 10.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday, and also between 6.00pm and 9.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be expected to work regular shifts on a rota basis.
With significant experience of managing a team responding to people in crisis and providing bereavement-centred support in a variety of settings and channels, you will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of and empathy with, the issues surrounding the death of a baby.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to use these appropriately to offer telephone and email support to bereaved families.
The ability to professionally represent the charity’s views and positions clearly is essential, as are strong research skills and the ability to keep accurate and clear records in a variety of formats. Additionally, you will have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
You will be highly-organised and have effective time management skills with the ability to manage your own workload. The ability to reflect on your own practice and attend regular accredited clinical supervision is also essential.

We are looking for someone with good administrative skills to join our small and friendly Services Delivery Team. You will provide admin support across the organisation and be responsible for setting up family support courses, both locally and online. Premier League Stadium Fund Technical Manager (Midlands and East of England)

The role will be home-based, but geographically will be required to cover clubs and leagues based in the Midlands and the East of England.
Regular travel to clubs’ stadiums will be required, as well as occasional travel to our office at Wembley Stadium in London.

The role
Working as part of a team of Technical Managers, you will support our Stadium Accreditation Programme and will lead on the technical/construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant projects.
Stadium Accreditation
You will support the Stadium Accreditation Programme by helping establish new ways of working following the initial assessment of approximately 1,000 stadiums across England and Wales. You will have responsibility for a set of leagues and clubs across the Midlands and the East of England and you will work with them to ensure their compliance while also delivering against the objectives outlined within the new Premier League Stadium Fund Facilities Strategy.
Grant Management
You will also be responsible for the scrutiny of the technical and construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant applications and ensuring the successful completion of new and improved stadium facilities. As part of this process, you will provide professional advice and guidance to applicants to assist with the development of capital projects, within the National League System (NLS) and Women’s Football Pyramid (WFP).
You will work with clubs to ensure that solutions can be found to address the findings of the Stadium Accreditation Programme, and will then carry out a technical assessment of any grant applications made by those clubs. Following the allocation of any funding, you will help to oversee the construction process to ensure that the build is completed to programme.
What are we looking for?
You’ll need a construction-related degree or professional qualification (for example RICS, CIOB, RIBA or equivalent), or the equivalent experience in a construction management or technical role. You’ll have expertise in construction processes, and experience of delivering facilities from inception to completion. Experience in sports facility construction is desirable but not essential.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.
It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.
You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives;

Founded in 2000, we’re the first and only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 individuals and their families affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in the UK.
PKD is a range of life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause kidney failure and affect other organs in the body such as the liver, brain, heart and bowels. Most people with PKD live with an uncertain prognosis, intermittent pain and infections, and then have to undergo life-saving dialysis or transplant in their 50s. A few babies have a rare form of PKD which results in death during pregnancy or shortly after birth; surviving children often have to have either a kidney or liver transplant before the age of 10.
We provide reliable, accredited information, advice and personalised support. We raise awareness of the burden of PKD, both clinical and psychosocial. We fund research aimed at understanding more about PKD and the discovery of therapies that will improve quality and longevity of life.

We are enhancing and increasing resource across this vital service, to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our beneficiaries, expanding from three to four regional teams. We are looking for advisers to join our friendly and passionate team. As an organisation we are committed to providing a high quality and consistent service to our beneficiaries.
As a Debt, Benefits and Money Adviser, you will provide a comprehensive community-based debt advice service to beneficiaries who are experiencing difficulties, advising on their legal position and all the suitable options available through a mixture of face-to-face, telephone and email interactions.
In addition, you will carry out income maximisation through identifying and advising on benefit entitlement, and the take up of appropriate benefits. There is an expectation you will also deliver specialist level welfare benefits casework including the preparation of written submissions and representation at appeal tribunals. To achieve this, full training and coaching is provided with an expectation to complete the training framework and sign off process within two years of appointment.
The role is home based with occasional travel required throughout Belfast and Northern Ireland. This includes travel to home visits and tribunal locations. In addition, travel to team meetings and training, usually in London, is required. We do cover travel expenses.
Living within the Belfast area or in commutable distance to the area is essential in being able to undertake this role.
This position is also subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check.
