About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project management professional to shape how we use our skills, knowledge and resources to deliver projects that will enable us to make the greatest impact for people affected by breast cancer.

In this role you’ll manage and deliver significant, cross-organisation change projects from initiation to implementation, taking ownership of project planning and delivery. You’ll lead work to assess our project management needs and develop our organisational approach to managing projects. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts to identify project requirements ensuring that the solutions meet the needs of the business and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives. 

You’ll also provide expert project management support for teams across Breast Cancer Now, developing tools and resources that will be pivotal in ensuring our projects are well-planned, executed, and evaluated, contributing to the overall success of Breast Cancer Now’s initiatives.

About you 

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in using a range of project management approaches to deliver strategically important projects in line with milestones, timescales and budgets.

You’ll be excellent at project planning and implementation. You’ll have strong communication and influencing skills along with the ability to inspire and motivate others to deliver on time and the confidence to lead and challenge appropriately to keep projects on track. You’ll have the experience and knowledge to establish an organisation-wide approach that meets a range of project management needs.

You’ll enjoy sharing your skills and experience to support staff at all levels to manage projects effectively, building Breast Cancer Now’s ability to reach our vision that by 2050 anyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Gather available information about a detained person whose case has been referred to Medical Justice

2. Assess the detained person’s needs and the relevant Medical Justice resources available that could assist them

3. Raise any immediate concerns about your client appropriately within Medical Justice and beyond

4. Prioritise referrals (in collaboration with the Casework Manager and the rest of the casework team)

5. Agree a plan of action with the Casework Manager to ensure as many resources as appropriate are marshalled to assist the detained person regarding:

a. Collating of existing medical evidence regarding the detained person and generating new medical evidence, including medico-legal reports (MLRs) and professional letters produced as a result of Medical Justice clinicians’ assessments in detention and/or remotely at your request

b. Challenging any inadequate healthcare provision

c. Facilitating access to good legal representation to challenge detention and to make the best use of the medical evidence we provide, and establish any availability of Legal Aid Agency funding for MLRs and interpreters

d. Facilitating access to appropriate support including accommodation and access to healthcare on release from detention

6. Obtain relevant consent from detained clients

7. Gather further required information needed about a detained client, including medical records, files held by the Home Office, and the detained client’s legal documents

8. Carry out various other actions agreed by the Casework Manager to implement the above plan. This may include:

a. Arranging medical visits to detainees

b. Liaising with healthcare providers in the immigration removal centre (IRC) 

c. Liaising with detained clients

d. Finding appropriate legal representation for a client

e. Signposting or making referrals to other organisations

9. Provide information to the Office Manager for booking medical visits and interpreters

10. Continually update the  case-management system

11. With support from the Casework Manager and Clinical Advisor/clinical reviewers, ensure medical evidence generated is accurate and aligned with instructions from any legal representative and Medical Justice guidance

12. Continually feedback to the staff team any intelligence regarding immigration detention conditions

13. Assist the Casework Manager to provide a monthly report for Trustees on the number of referrals, outcomes and Medical Justice clinicians engaged, noting any areas of concern

14. Collaborate with other staff and partner organisations in activities to secure lasting change including litigation, research, policy work and media work. This could include identification of cases, assisting in getting consent from detained clients, and contributing to briefings and witness statements

15. Where required, attend other meetings and events as agreed with the Casework Manager, including Trustee meetings and events with partner organisations.

16. Assist in other Medical Justice activities, including clinician and interpreter training .

17. Respect and comply with Medical Justice's policies and procedure, including clients’ confidentiality, equality and diversity, health and safety, and vulnerable adults.

General

18. To work flexibly as a member of the team and the organisation and undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities at the request of the Casework Manager.

19. To assist the smooth running of the organisation, working with other Medical Justice staff, and the Trustees to meets its overall objectives, including participation in periodic performance and training reviews, and contribute to organisational development. Also, attending and assisting with relevant events as appropriate.

20. To promote Medical Justice policies including our anti-discrimination policies.

21. To be self servicing, pro-actively share relevant information and expertise within the organisation and keep all records, statistics and information in accordance with Medical Justice policy and practice.

We are looking for a well-organised, highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Youth Worker (Youth Voice), supporting our mission to enable young people who are homeless, facing homelessness or unsafe to achieve independence and positive futures.
The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about youth engagement and skilled in bringing out the ideas, voices and opinions of young people to shape service delivery. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in running participatory youth projects, co-production, youth engagement sessions and/or community engagement.
The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively across our organisation. This role also includes working closely with our Campaigns, Impact and Policy team to ensure young people’s voices are at the heart of our external campaigning work.

Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Stoke and North Staffordshire.  We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to join us in delivering a comprehensive Stroke Recovery Service across the region.

Position: S11199 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Stoke and North Staffordshire. Extensive travel will be required as part of this role (travel will also include team meetings or other work related meetings)

The Role

Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the coordinator will work with the local Health and Social Care services to receive referrals and support stroke survivors and their carers. As a coordinator you will provide personalised information, advice and support with regular reviews throughout.

Key responsibilities will include:

The Role

 Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge are seeking Recovery workers  to join the team at the Together Cafe: our out-of-hours drop-in service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed, seeking support and advice for their mental health, there and then. The service is based in Stratford, London. Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical, and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health distress. This will consist of 1:1 and group support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

About UWC International 

The UWC International Office serves as the operational arm of UWC International, a UK-registered and Germany-registered charity, and stands as a pivotal entity within the UWC movement. Positioned in central London and Berlin, it collaborates extensively with stakeholders across the UWC spectrum, actively engages a robust alumni community comprising more than 60,000 members, and fulfils essential functions for UWC International's governance bodies. Our primary duties encompass global fundraising initiatives, comprehensive communications strategies, promotional endeavours, support for the network of over 150 UWC national committees, global strategy development and implementation, and support services to the UWC schools.

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.

The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.

Key Responsibilities

Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:

• Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
• Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
• Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.
• Being first point of call to responds to queries /requests for your regions and escalating as appropriate to People and Culture Lead(s)
• Support the implementation of the JEDI strategy within the regions you work in

Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
• Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

Specialist areas will include:

Learning and Development

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework

Other

• Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
• Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
• Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
• Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)
• A strong commitment to the principles of justice, equality, diversity and inclusion within the context of developing learning opportunities
• A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice

An opportunity to provide practical, emotional, and financial support for anyone affected by chronic kidney disease. You will engage with kidney patients, their families, and carers as a source of information, support, and advocacy, in order to improve care and wellbeing outcomes for patients.

This may be in the hospital or other care setting, on the phone, online or face-to-face in a mutually acceptable public place.

The role will cover the main renal units and satellite dialysis units across your designated area in Salford and Greater Mancherster. Frequent travel and attendance is expected at some sites.

Responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service in the region so patients, their families, carers and professionals to access independent support on social, financial, health advocacy and wellbeing
• Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service across the region and the effective management of a caseload. This involves regular attendance at renal clinics in the region, building relationships with health and care professionals and being available for patients in the renal unit, on the phone or online, or to meet at a mutually convenient public location
