Position: S11268 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based – Crewe, Cheshire. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week

Salary: Circa £16,461 per annum per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum)

Contract: Permanent. Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

• Provide personalised information, advice and support.

• Supporting stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

• Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

You will have experience in:

• Experience/background in a caring profession, ideally supporting people with disabilities

• Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records.

• An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association.

• A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. This particular role will require a full UK driving licence. The role will only require occasional travel to South and East Midlands locations during the first three months of the post. Student Support Officer
£51,481 per annum

 We are looking for an enthusiatic and confident Student Support Officer to work within our student, education and trade union teams at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

Based within our Practice and Development Directorate, this is an exciting new role for someone interested in supporting physiotherapy learners through their studies. You will have the opportunity to work closely with physiotherapy students to provide advice, support and guidance to those facing discrimination or bullying behaviour.

The role requires you to develop and sustain valuable relationships with the CSP’s network of student representatives and higher education institutions (HEIs) to support students seeking assistance. You will work closely with CSP staff, local CSP representatives and external stakeholders to understand the issues and needs of students, offering integrated support and advice.  You will be comfortable in communicating key messages, developing guidance and supporting promotional events to increase student engagement and recruitment. You will develop processes to capture data and evaluate the impact of this new role.

To succeed in the role, you will have experience in providing advice on discriminatory or bullying practices, have excellent communication skills, have an ability to make judgements, decisions and problem-solve in difficult situations and have knowledge and a strong understanding of equity, diversity and belonging principles.

Role
 
You will be providing HR advice on operational services across the employee lifecycle, in line with HR policies and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• To provide expert advice to line managers and staff on the application of policy and procedures and Employee Relations matters.
• To support line managers with a range of complex Employee Relations case management
• Look to develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures, guidance documents and templates while ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• Provide information and give guidance on new and updated policies to line managers and staff
• To advise line managers on a range of change management issues, including non-renewal of fixed-term contract procedures, restructures, redeployment / redundancy procedures and TUPE transfers

Part of our Strategy Enablement Directorate, the Data & Insight Team delivers high quality data and database management, administrative services and business insight to the department and other teams across Shelter. Custodians of supporter data for its full life cycle, running through everything we do is a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data quality and embedding a culture of standards, both in terms of compliance and best practice across the department.
