ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for two Heads of Service to join our organisation! There are two positions to be filled one with a special focus on Criminal Justice Services and the other with a focus on Homelessness and complex needs including mental health.
You will be responsible for providing positive and inspirational leadership across services to create positive communities, empowerment to individuals, and ensure psychologically informed environments! You will be responsible for ensuring services maintain the highest standards of service delivery, quality, performance and improvements. You will have the overall responsibility to ensure services are adhering to regulatory compliance as provided by commissioners, SIG, and all relevant stakeholders.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, with some Hybrid working as well as being based at Central Office, and making regular service visits. You will also take part of our out of office on call duty.

This role is perfect for someone who has a leadership background, and experience within the given field, or relevant fields to the services in which you will be managing. You will be able to bring our values to life within your service areas, and empower others to provide high quality care and support to others. You will support the group to achieve our vision and mission by empowering your teams, supporting with business development, and implementing continuous improvement.
You will understand and be able to demonstrate the importance of delivering safe and secure services for our resident and participant groups, and take a leadership approach to resolve challenges, support development, and provide advice and guidance.
Some of what are we looking for:
Head of Criminal Justice
- Previous experience and knowledge of Criminal Justice Services (CJS). Experience working with HMPPS is desirable
- Thorough understanding of the needs of the residents/participants in which we support in this area
- Ability to work flexibly and work closely with commissioners and CJS services including Prisons - this role will require additional vetting through BPSS (Prison clearance may also be required)
Head of Homelessness and Complex Needs
- Previous experience and knowledge working within homelessness and/or mental health services with a thorough understanding of the needs of the residents/participants in which we support
For both positions, in addition we require:
- Experience of leading teams that deliver complex and high-risk services
- Experience of working closely with commissioners
- Experience of contract management and monitoring contractual performance
- Budget Management experience and/or willingness to learn financial management
- Previous experience in line management and development
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
People Leadership
- Provide high quality support, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
- Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to;
Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle. - Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in best practice and policy is in place and being embedded across all services.
Operational Leadership
- Managerial and leadership oversight of the service area as agreed, ensuring delivery in line with Social Interest Group’s annual business plans, contractual requirements, and KPI’s, including making sure all legislative requirements and targets are being met.
- Support managers to create person centred, psychologically informed environments that deliver high quality services which are underpinned by our theory of change.
- Responsible for regular review of operational dashboards and monitoring of performance and KPI’s, creating reports and submitting these to relevant stakeholders.
- Create, maintain, and communicate reports using various channels and data software to measure various metrics of performance, trends, and other relevant reporting criteria. Communicate this effectively to various stakeholders internally and externally.
Organisational Growth/Business Development/Relationship Management
- Support with sourcing, developing, and improving operational growth. This could include supporting the organisation with finding new opportunities, supporting with bid writing process, and implementation process of new services and other opportunities in the organisation.
- Support on commissioner negotiations to ensure contractual compliance is upheld between both parties, including negotiating pathways into services to mitigate reduced positive outcomes and associated financial loss.
- Lead on any mobilisations and implementation of new services in collaboration with all relevant departments across the business and deliver new services to budget requirements, in a timely manner.
Audit, Compliance, Risk
- Regularly undertake staff-assessment audits of services against key quality and risk standards, and ensure all actions and improvements are acted on within required timeframes.
- Ensure all services follow correct safeguarding and risk management protocols and procedures.
- Undertake fact finding and any external/internal investigations, ensuring they are in line with organisational policy, as well as associated formal hearings.
Financial Management
- Budget Management: Promote and manage effective cost control mechanisms, management of the overall budget for the given operational group, work collaboratively with other teams to set the service budgets, review monthly accounts, and ensure effective management of the areas budget and reporting.
- Lead on the annual review of contracts with commissioners and/or other relevant stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the service budgets are adequate to meet the needs of the contracts and any associated risk.
- Have overall oversight over the operational group, approve budget items and costs, ensure headcount is well managed and within budget, and make any adaptations if necessary.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

When we're doing things face-to-face, you’ll need to hit the road and be there in person to help with programme delivery or programme visits to make sure all is running as smoothly as possible.
And if that’s not enough to keep you busy, you’ll also be keeping meticulous records of information and data on our young people, volunteers, and partners. It's all about making sure every step of their journey is accurately reflected in our systems so that it complies with our funding contracts.

• Oversee the Enter & View programme and support the Enter & View Volunteer Lead by collaborating with volunteers and partner organisations.
• Ensure the programme influences positive service changes and supports volunteers to lead the way in those changes.
• Produce and share Enter & View reports in a timely and accessible manner.
Research & Projects
• Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of targeted qualitative and quantitative research projects to gather feedback on health and social care services.
• Contribute to data analysis and produce comprehensive reports and intelligence briefings for NHS and social care commissioners, providers, local Councillors/MPs and the public.
• Ensure all reports are robust, straightforward, and accessible.
• Involve volunteers, service providers, and people with lived experience in our work.
Community Engagement
• Collaborate with the Healthwatch Engagement Officer to plan and deliver engagement activities with local people and communities.
• Gather feedback and insights from the community to inform Healthwatch Stockport’s work. • Represent Healthwatch Stockport at local events, meetings, and forums

The post holder will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions & local community venues. Raising the profile of substance misuse services available to young people and also providing young people with that first point of contact providing advice and further direction into accessing the right support, particularly targeting outreach to engage 'difficult -to-reach' young people.

The main duties of the role
To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.
- To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
- To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery.
- To update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity and resources.
- To work with the IntoUniversity Centre Leader to recruit children and young people to the programme, including after-school Academic Support and FOCUS Weeks.
- To develop educational resources and worksheets for use across all IntoUniversity programmes.
- To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including the Children’s Act, Children and Young People (Scotland) Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, and legislation and policies related to Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.

Your new role
To provide support to the Assistant Registrar and team in enabling them to make informed decisions regarding applications to the register and following the Registrar's decision to assist in the management of the Registrar's appeal process.
Case management of registration applications
- Manage a caseload of registration applications. Gather evidence in order to ensure the Registrar is able to make informed judgements and decisions.
- Evaluate whether applications for renewal or readmission satisfy the post-registration education and practice standards.
- Assess information provided by the applicants and from other relevant sources.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the management of cases is supported by the appropriate expert advice, including the police service and medical professionals and employers.
- Act as the contact point for the applicants, responding to their queries and proactively updating them on the progress of their cases.
- Investigate any issues that may affect the Registrar's judgement on registration applications. Issues of whether the applicant is safe and effective to practise, whether they hold approved qualifications and whether they satisfy the prescribed standards of continual professional development.
- Quality assure each case prior to presentation to the Registrar, ensuring all relevant information is presented.
- Prepare reports and present cases to the Registrar for decision and offer advice on cases when required.
- Minute meetings to ensure decisions are accurately recorded and updated. Relay these decisions to applicants in line with SOP.
Case management of Registration appeals
- Manage a caseload of appeals ensuring that cases are created appropriately and managed in line with standard operating procedures
- Act as the contact point for the appellants, responding to their queries and proactively updating them on the progress of their cases.
- Engage with all stakeholders, including witnesses, employers and other organisations as required. Write witness statements and take evidence from witnesses.
- Liaise with members of registration and legal advisors to ensure that appeals are managed through investigation within the agreed timescales and KPI's.
- Record the outcome of appeal hearings and meetings, updating the in-house and other data recording systems.
What you'll need to succeed
- Casework management, able to organise, prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands. Able to work proactively to deliver against targets and tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills. A clear and assured communicator both verbally and in writing. Able to present information clearly and listen actively.
- Able to understand and explain complex policy and legislation to internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to display empathy and understanding whilst dealing with customers.
- Experience of working with sensitive personal information and appropriate data protection measures. Excellent attention to detail when dealing with sensitive information.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership between Inclusion (MPFT NHS Trust), Aquarius, ADFAM and Build on Belief providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire. We are looking for a Complex Needs Practitioner (Family Practitioner) to join our team in High Wycombe.
The purpose of the role is to engage people who are affected by someone’s substance use in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
All Complex Needs Practitioners (Family Practitioners) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups. Complex Need Practitioners (Family Practitioner) will work with support, training and recognised best practice family interventions, in collaboration with our partners ADFAM.
A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical & emotional wellbeing, knowledge and understanding of drugs / alcohol / treatment, relationship with substance user, relationships with family and friends, meaningful activity, self-care and goal setting.
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have experience in Family/Carer work or a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in family support or the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

We are seeking an individual to undertake the role of Head of Community Fundraising. The position requires you to have strong leadership skills, meet annual targets and manage current Community Fundraisers across the UK. In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to work in a meticulous manner, with great attention to detail.
