Jigsaw4u are recruiting a Support Practitioner to join our specialised and experienced team.

The Jigsaw4u Missing Young People Service is a statutory partnership with the London Borough of Sutton.  Once the missing persons unit has made a referral, the support worker will make efforts to engage the young person so that they can conduct a Return Home Interview to gain insight as to why the young person may have run away or ‘gone missing’.  These interviews can lead to individual support, working on the priorities identified during our assessments in order to reduce risk. 

We also offer advice and consultation to parents, carers and professionals on the issues these young people are experiencing and work closely with Children’s Social Care, Schools, parents and other professionals to reduce and ultimately cease missing episodes from taking place

About the Service

As with all Islington SASS services, the Sexual Health project is inclusive to all survivors, but this project has a specific focus on increasing the engagement for LGBTQ+ survivors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sexual Health Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates to sit in the Islington SASS team and co-locate in Barnet Sexual Health Clinics. As a IDSVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse attending the clinic including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the Sexual Health lead for Solace in for Barnet, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Sexual Health professionals.

The Sexual Health IDVAs also hold a caseload providing one-to-one support to high-risk victims/survivors at the point of crisis as well as those at standard and medium risk levels, co-ordinating multi agency support and providing practical solutions.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

Purpose of the Job:

This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.

About the role:

As the Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with referral agencies and leading on all assessments into King George's, ensuring that clients and prospecting clients of SHP receiving a psychologically informed introduction to our service.

In your role, you will maintain a small caseload of clients with a recent and often very entrenched history of rough sleeping who often have difficult and complex relationships with services. You will support the team to make and maintain relationships with external services, and lead on MDT meetings, safeguarding issues, and overseeing in-reach clinics.

Additionally, you will support relevant Service/Team Managers, in providing guidance and advice to Project Workers on relevant housing and support tools and resources. 

You will be 1 of 2 Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker's and part of a large team including: 7 Complex Needs Project Workers; 2 Night Concierges and Night Security; a Complex Need Health Navigator; a Recovery Oppurtunities Co-ordinator (ROC); a Psychologist; 2 Team Managers; 1 Regional Service Manager. • Demonstrable experience of working clients with complex needs such as Mental Health, Substance use or Physical Health needs.

The service delivers transport home, settle in visits, follow up and community support.

The Service Coordinator will act as the point of contact for the Hospital Discharge and ward teams for referrals. The Service Coordinator will then coordinate the support workers and volunteers to deliver the service - and will be part of the delivery themselves.

The aim of this is to ensure that every client leaves a Depaul service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for managing the building to ensure that the accommodation provided to the clients is safe and secure through the provision of overnight concierge service, security and door control. This includes controlling access to buildings, being the first point of contact for all emergencies and carrying out Health and Safety checks and cleaning.

Key responsibilities include:

• You will always ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
• You will provide a basic first contact advice response and security service at night to clients living in the property and/or in dispersed accommodation linked to the service
• You will be the first point of contact for visitors, contractors or services visiting the building at night
• You will be responsible for maintaining Health and Safety standards on the premises and a point of information for clients regarding Health and Safety at night
• You will actively ensure the security of the building through regular checks, and monitoring.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or care leavers.
• Experience in managing the overnight safety of vulnerable clients preferably in supported housing.
• Good written and spoken communication skills to ensure the accurate handover of information both verbally and in writing between shifts.
• Experience in undertaking basic maintenance and/or delivering cleaning services.
• Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
• Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
• Commitment to working in a manner, which promotes diversity and equality ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity and no one, suffers from discrimination.

• High-level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries.
• Ability to work collaboratively.

Trusts and Foundations Officer - Remote / Hybrid Working 

Fixed Term | 11 Month Maternity Cover | Full Time, 37hrs PW

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference through the playing a vital role in our Philanthropy Team. 
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager this role is responsible for working alongside their line manager, wider team and operational colleagues to write and support applications to trusts and foundations for funding.

The role also plays a key role in the stewardship of our trust and foundation supporters, building strong and meaningful relationships with these organisations and individuals.  Whilst not a key focus of this role, the post holder may also be required to support the Philanthropy Team’s wider work including corporate and major donor approaches.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and skilled trusts and foundations officer to play a key role in building on the successes of our trusts and foundations programme.  With passion for both writing and supporter stewardship you will be able to write persuasively and build meaningful relationships with those who support us. Working well as a team player you will work closely with both the wider Philanthropy Team and operational colleagues to support local applications as appropriate. 

You will have a track record of delivering efficiently and effectively. You focus on insight, stewardship and persuasive writing to get the right result for the organisation and building lasting and substantial relationships with funders. You will also be an effective communicator developing trusting relationships across the organisation and with our funders and supporters, taking everyone with you on the journey.
