We are looking to appoint a Volunteer Manager to lead the development and delivery of our Neuro Changemakers programme. Key activities will include recruitment and management of volunteers to lead self-help groups, setting up the administrative infrastructure to deliver these groups at scale, and to review our existing volunteer & ambassador strategy.
Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, the Volunteer Manager will be responsible for all aspects of volunteer activity for the Neuro Changemakers programme, including recruitment, induction, training, support and volunteer engagement and retention.
The Volunteer Manager will work closely with all our internal departments and external volunteer networks, acting as the first point of reference on volunteering process and policy across the organisation.
The successful candidate must have strong experience delivering volunteer-led programmes in support of vulnerable service users, with a proven track record in administration and volunteer project management. The ideal candidate will have experience growing such a programme to ambitious targets, and delivering at scale. Familiarity with neurology, neuroscience and neurological conditions is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will make a significant contribution towards the growth and success of our Neuro Changemakers programme through our online self- help groups across the UK. Just as crucially we provide valuable opportunities for individuals with lived experience of neurological conditions to gain skills and support others with their own experiences, as part of their own recovery and personal development journeys.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for attracting, recruiting and retaining volunteers based on the organisational strategy for Neuro Changemakers.
- Working closely with the Professional Services Manager to ensure sufficient volunteers are available to meet organisational needs.
- Recruitment, training, induction and ongoing volunteer development.
- Working closely with the Professional Services Manager to deliver a comprehensive volunteer training programme.
- Support strategies to capture M&E data within the Neuro Changemakers programme.
- Outreach and mapping with volunteers to further understand our community’s needs, and to develop the case for setting up new groups in high priority and high need areas.
- Liaison with local authorities in areas to connect to local resources and promotion.
- Act as a deputy safeguarding lead, to ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed by all volunteers, including sensitive handling of any complaints, following correct procedures.
- Liaise with partner organisations to further the Neuro Changemaker programme.
Skills & Experience
- Strong professional experience of working in a management capacity to deliver services, with experience of developing policy and collaborative working.
- Proven in-depth experience in managing volunteers (understanding best practice across all elements).
- Experience of working with vulnerable service users, understanding the skillset required to work with people affected by a neurological condition and carers e.g. to set up and lead support groups.
- Excellent project management skills, particularly around new projects delivery and evidencing high quality impact.
- A solution focused team player with a positive, can-do mindset.
- An ability to put people at ease and a true enjoyment of working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to keeping up to date with best practice in volunteering and ensuring compliance with latest legislation.
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communications with brilliant attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding of safeguarding, particularly around vulnerable adults.
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce and an understanding of using Zoom with groups is highly desirable.

About the Role
Our Young Person’s Sanctuary’s Youth Mental Health Worker role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area. The role will be part of a larger Young Persons Sanctuary team made up of YPS Youth Mental Health Workers, YPS Manager and volunteers.
Service Delivery
- Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports young people experiencing a mental health crisis in Milton Keynes, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
- Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to services process and undertaking 1:1s.
- Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
- Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.
- Attendance to mandatory reflective practice is required for this role. It occurs once every six weeks for one and a half hours.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the finances at Kids Club Kampala. About the role:
Funded by the Department for Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub.
You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an person who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
- Develop new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
- Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to achieve key targets and objectives
- Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the development of safe and effective support services for the kinship community
- Maintain current Peer Support Group levels, taking the lead from the national Hub

We are ideally looking for candidates based close or within easy reach of our priority development areas which include; Reading, Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, Slough and Hampshire but also able to travel to other key locations across the South East and along the M4 corridor.

Role Description
To be the driving force behind our engagement with corporates. You will get Hope After Harm “out there”. Identifying opportunities, networking, and bringing in funding all at the same time as making sure our corporate supporters feel engaged and excited. You will work closely with the CEO, to define and deliver our approach and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Researching corporates and creating target list
- Establishing contact through any access route (calls, social media, emails etc)
- Identifying corporate networking events and attending/organising attendance
- Developing corporate offer(s) to engage and excite our funders
- Developing corporate collateral to support our offer
- Keeping existing corporate supporters engaged and excited
- Keeping track of the corporate donor journey ensuring all steps are delivered including “thank you”s, website recognition etc
- Maintaining and updating the pipeline and performing other administrative tasks associated with corporate fundraising including input to reporting
- To work with our Patron to ensure that they are engaged in corporate fundraising as appropriate

Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Philanthropy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.
Key responsibilities
Maintain a portfolio of 50 – 70 major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5 and low 6-figure annual gifts (bigger gifts would fall to the Vice President, International Development and UK Fundraising Director)
Conduct 75 to 100 meetings with donors and prospects annually through one-on-one meetings, site visits, and other types of meaningful contact.
Provide recommendations and assist in executing effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
Write and create customised proposals and presentations for major donors.
In coordination with the UK Fundraising Director, assist with developing projects that will enhance the major giving operations of the Development Department and support them by developing strategy briefs and leading preparation meetings.
Help produce cultivation and stewardship programs for prospects and major donors.
Organise at least two major donor events each year.
Organising research on major donors as well as conducting supplemental research.
Ensure all key administrative tasks for the philanthropy programme are taken care of.
Other duties as are appropriate for this role.
Travel
There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as travel as needed around the UK for meetings with major donors.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes preferred.
A proven history of generating income in the £100,000’s and securing gifts of £25,000 or more.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management, program staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.
