River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.
The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Key Responsibilities
Website
- Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
- Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme Spear
Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education
Line management and training
- Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
- Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
- Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.
Site management
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe. Set in a leafy heritage building and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Time & Talents is well-known for supporting isolated and lonely older people in the area. Our volunteer Befriending scheme is more than 40 years strong and helps around 75 housebound older people each year to have social contact they can rely on. Cycling Without Age (CWA), a newer branch of our volunteer work based on a Danish model, has transformed into Bicycle Befriending since the pandemic. Bicycle Befriending pairs trained cyclists with older people for regular rides round the parks in our specialist trishaws. The trishaws are also a big hit at our events! In addition to the Older Adults programme needs, we need volunteers each week to support our community groups and our administrative needs. Corporations often want to volunteer as teambuilding events or to help with our community offer, and this role plays a lead role as first point of contact for those queries as well. We are building our volunteer-driven offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely.

What's the role about?
As Executive PA, you will provide assistance to the Executive Director of Income and Conservation Investment (ICI), managing their busy inbox and diary and proactively helping them to stay on top of actions and deadlines. You will also play an important role at leadership team meetings, ensuring their smooth running by producing agendas and capturing actions. You will be a key point of contact for colleagues across the directorate and around the RSPB so we are looking for someone with a positive and approachable manner who enjoys working with others and is able to efficiently prioritise and problem-solve. A typical day might include tasks such as:
- Supporting the Executive Director through inbox and diary management, booking travel and accommodation, compiling agendas, gathering meeting papers, collating actions and reminders
- Working with the Board and Council Coordinator to ensure papers are drafted and submitted within set timeframes and follow the correct process.
- Building and developing effective relationships with people across the organisation and externally on behalf of Executive Director. Ensuring confidential and sensitive matters are handled appropriately.
- Organising monthly directorate briefings and other engagement activities, sourcing interesting and relevant content to help inspire colleagues and showcase the work of teams across the RSPB.
- Facilitating various meetings, including that of the leadership team by working with the meeting chair to produce agendas, gather papers, book guest presenters, capture actions and generally ensure meetings run efficiently.
- Understanding, sharing and implementing best practice from across the organisation, for example, Information Management principles, new digital tools or ensuring meetings are inclusive and accessible.
- Working closely with the Executive Board PA group to improve processes and provide cover during times of absence.

- Working in line with the RSPB expenses and purchasing policies, file expense claims and raise purchase orders.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

Both programmes raise funds for a variety of projects across the university including bursaries and scholarships, enhancing the student experience and Faculty level support.
Duties and responsibilities
• Act as first contact for all fundraising related queries (by telephone, email, post and in person); liaise across the Division and with Communications and Public Affairs to draft and send appropriate responses.
• Support Regular Giving and Legacy teams with general administrative and office duties such as booking meeting rooms, organising catering and audio visual facilities.

Overview
The Green Team was founded in 1995 to support young people to succeed in achieving the Duke of Edinburgh award. Since then, the team has grown significantly and now offers nine programmes along with corporate volunteering days and holiday activities. From one member of staff and a few volunteers, we now have 10 staff and over 50 volunteers.
The growth of the team since 1995 has been primarily driven by our current CEO, Penny Radway. The size of the organisation and number of programmes run mean that we believe the time is right to introduce a dual CEO approach. Penny will focus on CEO responsibilities for delivering our programmes.
The role
To co-lead the charity promoting the mission, aims, values and objectives, be directly responsible for specific agreed areas of the charity’s corporate operations while overseeing and ensuring the success of these operations. To increase income generation, specifically unrestricted funds, enhance existing financial controls, and impact reporting. To also ensure there are clear and impactful communications, partnerships and marketing approaches for the development of the Green Team.
Work in partnership with the Co-CEO Programmes to advise the Trustees on the strategic direction of the organisation and to implement Board decisions. To ensure the sustainability of the Green Team, with a focus on increasing unrestricted funds to achieve longevity of the organisation.

About the role
The Development Manager is a new and important role at The NewBridge Project, which will support the effective management of fundraising and reporting across our work.
You will support the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy and evaluation framework, and work alongside a small and committed staff team to understand, evaluate and champion our work through compelling written reports and applications to new funders.
We are keen to meet candidates who share NewBridge’s values and commitments to working in solidarity with and supporting the artists and communities around us, who understand the importance of evaluation in meeting requirements of funders/partners, and as a way to learn, build on our work to date, and tell the story of what we do.
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and dedicated individual, who can work with us to nurture and develop relationships with funders and partners. You’ll have direct or transferable experience across fundraising, reporting, evaluation and budget management, and be excited about working in an artist and community-led space/environment.

About The NewBridge Project
The NewBridge Project is an active artist-led community that supports artists, curators and communities through the provision of space for creative practice and an ambitious artist-led programme of exhibitions, commissions, artist development and events.
Our programme builds solidarity with the people around us, and is community-centred, experimental, collaborative and socially conscious at its heart. We work with our studio members, the wider artistic community and our neighbours to create a programme that responds to their needs and those of the local environment.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Fundraising
- Work closely with the Director and Programme Director to oversee the review, development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research to identify potential new sources of funding from a variety of sources.
- Support and where appropriate lead on the writing of funding applications for core and project funding.
- Develop written case for support documents (such as case studies, needs-based analysis) that can be used for a variety funding applications.
- Input into the development and ongoing review of an ethical fundraising policy, in line with NewBridge’s values and ethos
- Work closely with the Director, Programme Director, and external evaluators, to embed and implement an evaluation framework into all strands of NewBridge’s work.
Funding Management & Reporting
- Oversee NewBridge’s obligations to funders and partners, through the production and submission of reports across multiple grant/reporting platforms. At present this includes:
- Arts Council England
- Newcastle University
- Newcastle Culture Investment Fund
- North East Combined Authority - Skills for Growth Project (see more detail below).
- Manage and update reporting and evaluation timelines, working with staff to ensure we meet external deadlines.
- Manage, update and prepare up to date budgets for funders and partners when necessary.
- Write reports on progress/delivery for funders and partners, that demonstrate impact and progress against outlined objectives
- Work with Communications Producer and relevant staff to ensure funders and partners are correctly credited across communication platforms and public spaces where appropriate.
Management of North East Combined Authority Reporting & Operations.
- Lead on quarterly and annual reporting for North East Combined Authority, this will include:
- Processing quarterly financial claims
- Revising budget/cashflow on quarterly basis
- Submitting written progress report, and updates on key performance indicators and milestones
- Work with project partners Newcastle University, including;
- Preparation for bi-monthly steering group meetings and monthly operations group meetings, including:
- Scheduling and set up for in-person, hybrid and online meetings
- Taking and sharing meeting minutes and follow-up actions from above meetings
- Leading on the assembly and dissemination of papers for meetings.
- Gather necessary information from university to be inputted into reports/evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work in collaboration with team at NewBridge to capture qualitative and quantitative data on audiences, participants and collaborators (including social impact reporting, equalities and diversity monitoring, environmental impact, and audience data).
- Lead on evaluation administration, including review and implementation of systems for recording data/feedback and completing data entry.
- Attend events and activity at NewBridge in order to support with monitoring and evaluation.
- Work with external evaluators where applicable – at present this includes working with Ortus Economic Research to evaluate our North East Combined Authority Skills for Growth project.

- Experience of managing extensive or high-level budgets and monitoring progress

About the role
Your key purpose will be to lead the Assistant Shop Manager and a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.
About you
This role requires experience of line managing employees, experience in managing a shop including knowledge of retail and health and safety legislation and administrative/cash handling experience.
You will also have an ability to deal with customers and maintaining a high level of customer service, have good verbal, written communication skills, as well as being comfortable using IT and EPOS reporting. You will have an ability to motivate yourself and others, have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working under pressure and dealing with changing priorities.
