About the Role
Reporting to our Marketing Manager this role plays an important part in supporting SIB’s strategy and focus.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can create compelling communications showcasing our programmes and funds
• Can provide expertise and oversight in the shaping and embedding of SIB’s external messaging
• Can produce accessible and well-written marketing materials for our programmes and funds
• Can update website communications and manage newsletters
• Can organise external events and coordinate team member attendance
• Can support formal and informal engagement with SIB’s customers and the internal team

Key responsibilities
Marketing
1 Working with Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including contributing to campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
2. Supporting the implementation of marketing plans for specific funds, working with our delivery partners and sub-contractors, as appropriate, and helping with programme and fund roundtables and events.
3. Supporting the Director of Investments and the Marketing Manager in delivering new business strategies by providing market analysis and data, publicity plans, key messages, event planning, set up and coordination as necessary.
4. Supporting the Marketing Manager with marketing contacts in partner, investee and other stakeholder organisations, maintaining contacts and ensuring that SIB funds and programmes are represented across sector events and in peer publications.
5. Liaise with the Business Development Manager to contribute effectively to new tenders, including supplying accurate marketing and communications data and deliverable activities.
Communications
6. Working with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including developing and managing campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
7. Supporting the development of content and publications as required including newsletters, brochures and reports, case studies, blogs, articles, website content, e-newsletter content.
8. Working with the Marketing Manager and Policy and Communications Manager to liaise with external networks – national, third sector and key regional press contacts, other communications managers – to increase the reach of SIB’s work and to disseminate it widely.

The Role
The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.
The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the day-to-day smooth efficient running of the finance function.
- Contribute to strategy development and implementation as part of the wider SLT.
- Work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management, including attendance at the monthly Finance Sub-Committee.
- Manage, maintain and develop financial systems and controls, increasing their impact and quality and implementing best practices in financial management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Charity Commission, HMRC).

Finance Operations Management
- Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax) including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, payroll, banking, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage the staff payroll and pension process, monthly HMRC reporting and payments, including monitoring of VAT, tax, and gift aid, and prepare required returns.
- Lead on procurement practices, including relationship management of key suppliers such as insurance, utilities, IT providers to ensure best value for money.
- Petty cash controls across all FSSW sites.
- Debtor management, including liaising with internal membership account managers.
- Other finance administration activities as required.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves management and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting commentary for presentation to SLT and Trustees.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support decision-making and funding applications across the organisation, including quarterly reviews.
- Prepare year end accounts to trial balance and lead the annual audit process.
- Ensure Restricted Funds are allocated correctly and assist with the monitoring of their budgets and cash flow in conjunction with the SLT.

- Complete administration duties such as filing to Charity Commission and Companies House as directed to comply with statutory reporting requirements.

Science is the bedrock of the work of the RSPB and this role is pivotal in helping raise awareness and understanding of how it informs and guides our conservation work. The Senior Science Communications Executive will lead the promotion, development, and coordination of the RSPB’s scientific communication. This key role informs, influences, and inspires key internal and external audiences in alignment with the RSPB's mission.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for nature conservation and be a great communicator. An understanding of how science and academia works is preferred but not essential. You’ll be supported by, and line managed in the News & Media team but will work very closely with colleagues in Conservation Science and Global Conservation. What's the role about?
To develop and co-ordinate the communication of the RSPB’s conservation science activities, projects and strategies to key internal and external audiences in order to underpin, amplify or achieve RSPB objectives. The Role
As the Executive Director, you will be central to managing all aspects of the charity's activities, including staff management, accountability to the Board of Trustees, and being the face of the charity to the outside world. Your remit will span operations, policy, communication, and fundraising. You will work at the highest level on these matters, involving exposure to a wide range of counterparties, and help take the charity to the next level of its institutional development, public profile, and impact.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated professional with at least five years of senior management experience, ideally in public or private sector policy development, external affairs, or the charity sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing communication strategies, substantial and effective fundraising, and building and maintaining stakeholder relations. Knowledge of the history and current situation in the Middle East, and preferably some direct experience in the region, is essential. You should be a collaborative team player, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with the ability to deliver clear objectives and excel in a strategically ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environment.

Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer – but it does have a low profile, lack of awareness, low research investment and desperately needs new treatments. Over 22,000 people are diagnosed each year in the UK – there is a high level of recurrence. There is a lack of information and support for patients. With your help, Action Bladder Cancer UK can radically improve this.
The role
ABC UK is an established charity, with exciting new projects. We have an active network of volunteers, a full time Chief Executive and core staff and a range of project staff. You will report to Chief Executive ABC UK and will work closely with our ABC UK Patient Support team, ABC UK trustees and patient volunteers.
The role supports ABC UK’s core Patient Support Programme. We provide information and support for those with bladder cancer, a direct patient support service, help establish and sustain support groups for bladder cancer patients, provide patient information about bladder cancer to patients and major centres of bladder cancer treatment, and run bladder cancer information events (both online and face to face). We also work to increase our networks with health professionals, to help them support their patients. We run the ABC UK Education Programme for health professionals and you will be involved in planning and delivering nurse education events. We want to build our networks both regionally and nationally and to be responsive to the need for information, awareness and support for those with bladder cancer, and the health professionals treating them. We now want to add to the team to increase our impact even further.
You will work remotely, however very much working as part of the Patient Support team, and working closely with other colleagues and volunteers, with regular catch-up meetings (online) and occasional face to face team meetings. You will also be required to travel as necessary for meetings and patient or health professional events and to help create and sustain our networks with health professionals and cancer support services. You will be based in the North of England and within easy travelling distance of centres such as Sheffield, Leeds, Hull and further North and adjacent counties. We may consider candidates outside of these regions, if they have directly appropriate experience and skills.
Who we are looking for…
You will be in contact with a range of different people including volunteers, patients, health professionals and other organisations. The successful candidate will:
- be friendly and approachable, able to work flexibly, with resilience and efficiency and to be professional at all times and be able to work to our very high standards;

Key Responsibilities
Networking
- Contact point for Hospitals/Urology Depts/Cancer Centres. Making pro-active contact and arranging supply of bladder cancer patient information and building relationships on a regional basis;
- Building contacts with specialist urology/cancer nurses, making them aware of ABC UK and our resources;
- Maintaining up-to-date contact database: including major urology departments, cancer centres, regional cancer networks etc;
- Regional contacts (working with volunteer patient advisors) – including regional cancer networks/charities etc – to build local networks;
- Co-ordinating periodic mailings of ABC UK patient information materials to hospitals/urology services (mailing handled by central admin).
Events
- ABC UK runs both face to face and online events. Organising and attending ABC UK patient and health professional events, working as part of a team with other ABC UK Patient Support Officers and volunteers;
- Occasional attendance at/involvement with regional cancer events, health professional and/or patient or well-being events (including taking the ABC UK stand to such events);
- You will also be required to present at events on occasion – both online and face to face;
- Organising, development of (with colleagues) and participation in ABC UK online patient events and face to face events, and ABC UK health professional events both online and face to face.
Patient Support Groups
ABC UK works to help set up and maintain support groups for bladder cancer patients – these groups are self-running, often linked to a major hospital.
- Help maintain database of Groups: contact details, details of meeting etc – including information for updating ABC UK website and ABC UK social media;
- Acting as ABC UK contact point for bladder cancer patient support groups, including making presentations;
- Pro-actively maintaining regular contact with PSG’s – re supply of ABC UK materials, updating info, ascertaining needs re other materials or support required and developing best practice case studies;
- Working with health professionals wanting to set up new groups, periodically attending group meetings and meeting volunteers.
Patient Materials
Working with ABC UK Executive, ABC UK Patient Support team and patient volunteers on the development of patient information materials both on-line and in print.
Communications
- News Updates: contributing as part of a team on regular news updates for health professionals, support groups and patients;
- Social media: working as part of a team on increasing ABC UK social media presence.
