As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. What you will be doing

• Agree a mutual time and frequency to meet in the local community
• To develop and promote a positive relationship with your befriendee
• To engage in conversation in Albanian
• To encourage your befriendee to engage in social activities and support them in doing so whilst building their confidence
• To support your befriendee in developing their goals and social skills
• Encourage your befriendee to make links with community services, based on their identified goals

A voluntary role to take a strategic lead within the Board of Trustees in the support of fundraising at the
Harlequins Foundation.

The Fundraising Trustee will support the Foundation team to ensure that fundraising initiatives are of the
highest standard, that all fundraising activity is compliant with the Fundraising Regulator and relevant
charity law and will assist in developing opportunities which will have the greatest impact in the sector.

About you
You will ideally have experience in fundraising/income generation and will have held senior management
positions, although this is not essential to the role. We would also value experience in some of the
following areas where the Foundation has identified a need for support:

• Grants and Trusts fundraising
• Code of fundraising and best practice in fundraising
• Social investment
• Community fundraising
• Events fundraising

With an ability to hold fundraisers to account and to ask the right questions about strategy and
implementation, you will have an understanding of the UK charity sector, good governance, relevant
legislations, and statutory requirements.

The ideal person for this role will possess an understanding of fundraising practices and the most effective
ways of using these to maximise income, with excellent networking ability, influencing and communication
skills and be well connected in London and the South-East.

How you can make a difference to our work
In addition to the general responsibilities of our Trustee’s your role may include supporting in some of the
following areas:

• Providing guidance and support on the ongoing development and implementation of the Harlequins Foundation’s fundraising strategy and providing support to recognise new opportunities in the sector
• Contributing knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies, understanding results and approving budgets
• Monitoring the fundraising progress and constructively challenging the Head of Foundation and the Board by asking the right questions about the fundraising strategy and its implementation
• Monitoring the Harlequins Foundation’s fundraising activity ensuring that it is carried out effectively and lawfully
• Mentoring and supporting the Harlequins Foundation’s Head of Fundraising & Engagement and their team when required
• Being the fundraising champion on the Board of Trustees and being an active spokesperson for the Harlequins Foundation in networking to solicit funds and in contributing at key donor presentations when required
• Assisting with the development and amplification of our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work
• The list is indicative, and adaptable to the skillset and commitment of the appointed person

Commitment required
The fulfilment of these duties is expected to take around one to two days a month that all trustees are
asked to give as part of their roles.

This is inclusive of attendance at a minimum of four Trustee Board meetings a year. The quarterly Trustee
Board meetings are usually in person at the Twickenham Stoop, and last for 2 hours.

Tenure
The Lead Trustee for Fundraising must be an active Trustee and is elected for a period of two years, after
which they may seek re-election.

Remuneration
The role is an unremunerated voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be met. Per the articles of
association, liability of trustees is limited to £1, and the Harlequins Foundation is covered by appropriate
insurance.

At Sense we know that it's not easy being a young carer or sibling of a disabled child. Their wellbeing and happiness are just as important. That’s why Sense supports activities and sessions specifically for young people aged 5-18 who have a caring role for a parent, carer, or sibling.

We run a range of virtual and in person activities throughout the month. Our sessions are based on what the young people tell us they like doing, giving them a break, and also providing opportunities to meet and develop friendships with other young people in a similar situation.

Our Siblings and Young Carers in person activity group sessions take place once a month. Activities include picnics, bowling, arts and crafts and rock climbing, enabling the young people to spend time doing fun things with other siblings and young carers with similar experiences.

You do not need to have any previous experience working with siblings or young carers as we will provide you with training and ongoing support to equip you for your role.

Practical Considerations

This project is based in Birmingham, either at Sense Touchbase Pears or out in the community . Our activity group runs once per month, for around 4 hours on a Saturday. Ideally you would be able to commit to at least 6 months of volunteering.

An essential part of getting ready to volunteer is attending a training session where you'll learn more about your volunteer role, the specific needs of children and young carers and how to keep young people on the project safe.

Your travel expenses will be covered by Sense. 

You must be 16 or over to volunteer. We collect two references for this role as well as complete a Child and Adult Enhanced DBS. 

We’re looking for people who care deeply about our Youth Programme, the activities our young people take part in, and the outcomes young people achieve as a result. We need someone really inspiring – like yourself - to support our local volunteers in making adventurous and nights away activities easier to deliver.

You could occasionally help on specific projects, or take a leading role in shaping our strategy and priorities. You don’t need to be an expert, and you’ll get lots of support to grow into your role. Whatever that role is, in partnership with our staff team, you’ll be helping to shape how we help young people develop skills for life. If you’re still reading, then you obviously have an interest in what our young people take part in – so we would love to hear from you.

We want to make sure you feel supported, empowered, and that you enjoy your time volunteering beyond your local community, at a UK level. You’ll be part of a friendly team of volunteers and staff members who will support you in your role. We will cover your expenses (all travel and out of pocket expenses associated with the role, according to the expenses policy) and support any other adjustments we can make to enable you to volunteer with us.

• UK Programme Adventure Team Leader
  Focussed on leading on the continuous development and deployment of our adventurous programme content and support delivery of adventurous and nights away activities in Scouting, in partnership with the Senior Programme Managers and National Safety Manager. You will shape our programme content so that more young people realise the outcomes in our Theory of Change, and inform what else we should be providing to meet our strategic goals.

• UK Programme Adventure Team Members
  Focused on supporting the adventurous areas of programme, you may be involved in the continuous development of our adventurous programme, advising on specific technical aspects or supporting local volunteers to deliver the adventurous programme; or a mixture of all of the above. We are particularly looking for individuals with depth of experience delivering adventurous activities, the Nights Away and Adventurous Activity Schemes and national assessors.

Overview of the role

We are an exciting team that aim to design and develop fantastic programme for all members of our organisation. We have several ongoing pieces of work and upcoming projects that enable volunteers to get stuck right in and have real impact. You will have a part in designing programme, see it develop and then watch it reach local Scouting.

We will provide support when inducting you into the role, engage you in an exciting project and then help you on your next steps as a volunteer at the end of the project. This is a great opportunity for those who have never volunteered at Headquarters to give it a go. We would love to see plenty of new faces!

What would I be doing?

This role will be working as part of the Programme Design Team to facilitate work on one of our short-term projects. You will be joining one of our Project Cohorts. After applying, we will review applicants’ skills and experience, before selecting a group to work on a particular project with set goals. 

Our upcoming projects will be aiming to develop our top-quality programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in innovative and impactful programme design. Each project is anticipated to last for 3 months. Once your project is complete, we will support you in your next steps as a volunteer. This could include inviting you to apply to join the Programme Design Team on a long-term basis.

Role Summary:

The Chair of the Board of Trustees will provide strategic leadership to Hidayah, ensuring the organization remains aligned with its mission to support and advocate for LGBTQ+ Muslims. The Chair will guide the Board of Trustees in effective governance and act as an ambassador for the charity within both the Muslim and LGBTQ+ communities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Governance:
   • Provide leadership to the Board, ensuring that Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity.
   • Oversee the Board of Trustees’ operation, ensuring its members work collaboratively and effectively.
   • Ensure the charity complies with its constitution, governing documents, charity law, and other relevant legislation/regulations.

1. Strategy and Planning:
   • Lead the development and implementation of the charity’s annual strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the needs of LGBTQ+ Muslims.
   • Write the annual report outlining Hidayah’s impact and achievements
   • Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure that strategic objectives are effectively executed and serve the community
   • Write and develop a portfolio of policies to ensure the smooth running of Hidayah

1. Board of Trustees Management:
   • Chair monthly Board meetings effectively, ensuring decisions are taken in a timely manner and that actions are followed up.
   • Facilitate a positive and inclusive Board culture where diverse viewpoints are encouraged and respected.
   • Manage all volunteers taken on by Hidayah

1. Advocacy and Representation:
   • Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting its work within both the Muslim and LGBTQ+ communities and to a wider audience.

1. Financial Oversight:
   • Oversee the charity’s financial health, ensuring it operates within its means and maintains proper financial control and accountability.
   • Work with the Treasurer and the finance team to ensure the Board of Trustees receives accurate and timely financial information.
   • Act as a signatory for Hidayah’s bank account and financial operations.
   • To seek out partnerships, sponsors and endorsements from individuals and organisations.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience in a leadership role within a charity, non-profit, or similar organization.
• Strong understanding of governance best practices and charity law.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
• Strong financial acumen and experience overseeing budgets and financial planning.
• Passion for the charity’s mission and commitment to its values, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ Muslims.

Desirable:

• Previous experience as a Chair or in a senior non-executive role.
• Experience in fundraising and development activities.
• Established network within the Muslim and LGBTQ+ communities and among relevant stakeholders.

Terms of Appointment:

• The Chair will be appointed for an initial term of 3 years, which may be renewed for a further term(s).
• This is a voluntary position; however, expenses incurred in fulfilling the role will be reimbursed as approved by the Board of Trustees in line with Hidayah’s policies.

Join us as the volunteer leader of the RSPB Exeter & District Local Group and lead a group of enthusiastic members who are passionate about supporting the RSPB and exploring local wildlife. The group runs a full programme of activities, from outdoor walks and indoor talks to fundraising events. As the group leader, you will primarily lead the group and oversee the programme. You will be part of a friendly and helpful committee that share the same vision of bringing members closer to nature. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to use your leadership skills to make a valuable contribution to the work of the RSPB.

 WHO WE ARE

The Developers Club Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation primarily established  to support the housing and professional development of young adults at risk of long term youth homelessness. Our mission is to acquire and provide quality accommodation that is truly affordable to our charity partners whom have well established programmes that tackle the causes of long-term homelessness amongst those aged 18 – 25. Close to 130,000 young adults were recorded as homeless 2021 – 2022 and we believe that providing a solid foundation to them at such a crucial time in their transition into independence can be life changing for generations to come.

The TDC Foundation is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Secretary. This key position will support the governance of the foundation and ensure the smooth operation of its activities.

The three key activities of the foundation are:

1. Provision of affordable housing: Partnering and providing quality homes to charities at an affordable rent that gives young adults at risk of long-term homelessness the best start to their transition into independent living.

2. Volunteer Mentorship: Providing talks and 1-2-1 Life Skills, Education and Career Development mentoring.

3. Grant funding: Giving grants to charities working towards the prevention of youth homelessness and or providing mentorship in the areas of Life Skills, Education and Career Development.

In order to facilitate the above, we aim to raise £250,000 annually through several charitable initiatives e.g. charity races and auctions.

About the Role: The Secretary will be responsible for leading the administrative support for the Board of Trustees, organizing meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining essential records. This role also involves ensuring compliance with charity regulations, coordinating communication, and helping to execute the foundation’s mission. Candidates must be able to commit a minimum of three years as a trustee and dedicate up to 20hrs/month max depending on foundation’s current activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and organise board meetings, including circulating agendas and related materials. 
• Take minutes during board meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
• Ensure compliance with relevant charity and legal requirements.
• Manage correspondence and communications with board members and external partners.
• Maintain and update foundation records, including governance documents.
• Assist with trustee recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Support the foundation’s fundraising and grant application activities when required.
• Attend fortnightly board meetings and contribute actively to discussions during the setup phase. Meetings will transition to quarterly once the setup phase is complete.
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation and promote its mission and values.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar administrative or secretarial role (experience within a charity or nonprofit organization is a plus).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Familiarity with charity governance and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
