As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.

You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. What you’ll do:

• Deliver a decision support service to managers and directors to deliver improved financial performance outcomes for the RCR.
• Ensure that partners use effective financial controls over their spend and income conforming to RCR’s policies and to optimise RCR’s outcomes.
• Support the partners in the production of outturn forecasts, budgets and multiyear financial plans that conform to RCR’s financial needs.
• Provide effective analytical insight and advice to partners and Head of Finance to maximise the return on investment and support for implementing change to improve outcomes.
• Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries.
• Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information
• Help with system development within the finance team such as upgrades
• Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.

What you’ll need:

• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Experience of financial business partnering role or accounting role in comparable organisation.
• Excellent commercial skills, including the ability to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
• An enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot risks, to dig further to follow up on problems and work through issues to offer practical solutions.
• Experience of collaborative work across functions to support others in delivering tasks and projects.

Main duties

Programme Support 

• Provide support across Causeway's broad portfolio of programmes, such as online mentoring, insight days, work experience weeks and university and employer outreach schemes

• Organise programme-related events, such as workshops/webinars 

• Deliver online and in-person workshops to students and stakeholders, alongside other members of the Programmes Team

• Look after our shared inboxes and share queries with relevant team members 

• Support the collection of information as part of programme reporting requirements

• Support other team members with management of external communications including the Causeway website, Twitter account and newsletters

Reports to: Head of Marketing and Communications

Other Regular Relationships: Senior Communication Executive, Committee Services Team, Projects team, Membership secretary, Events Manager, Digital manager

Overall Purpose of the Job: To work as part of the communications team to plan, implement and optimise communications for our members.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver membership communications through our website, email and social media
• Creating and sending out member emails, ensuring that activity is consistent, accurate and timely
•  Creating social media posts across multiple Twitter accounts, as well as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram ensuring they are accurate, consistent and timely
• Ensure the communications calendar is maintained and accurate, and work with the communications team to ensure all messaging is appropriately scheduled to ensure maximum engagement and member experience
• Supporting the team in proofreading communications to ensure messaging and standards are consistent
• Monitor and improve email and social media communications through regular reporting and recommending improvements
• Working with wider BSG team to support communication of key projects and initiatives across all channels
•  Make content additions and updates to the website as required
• Understand and use core functionality on the website to a high standard, and play a role in maintaining and improving processes and their documentation
• Work with Head of Communications and Senior Communications Executive to identify areas for improvement and recommending solutions, including proofreading existing work
•  Work with the digital team to create a website usage report and make recommendations for improvements
•  Support the events manager in organisation of BSG events including webinars and face to face events as required
• Work on the BSG stand at the annual conference and do other tasks as may be required

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years experience in a communications or similar role
• Experience using a website CMS and mailing system/CRM.
• Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with good attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of GDPR and good data practices
• Ideally some experience using design tools such as Canva
• Competency with Microsoft Office suite

This role is perfect for someone progressing their corporate fundraising career, but not yet ready to specialise in account management or new business. A priority will be to ensure that we really support and value our existing partners, but you will also have the opportunity to research and develop new opportunities with the Head of New Business. Valuing the importance of the day-to-day routine of administration, data entry etc will also be central to this role and an important responsibility.

To support existing corporate partners, creating opportunities to grow and develop their engagement and support. To support the Head of new Business in the development of new partnership opportunities. This role is about shaping and growing corporate fundraising income and so priorities may change and there could be juggling of priorities, so it’s important that this is an environment that you have experienced before and can thrive in. You will have an innate desire to listen, to learn and to grow in this role.

Job Purpose and Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and expanding charity and work within a dynamic team. The finance manager is responsible for support and maintenance of financial services and reporting to senior management.  These duties include but are not limited to supporting the Finance Officer, maintaining accounts functions, budgeting and assisting in the drafting of monthly management reports.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the COO the Finance Manager will support and assist the Finance Officer in all routine bookkeeping duties, ensuring the smooth running of financial operations.  The Finance Manager ensures that effective methods are put in place to meet current and upcoming regulations of Charities e.g. Charities SORP (FRS102).

Duties (this list is not exhaustive)

· Supervision of regular posting of purchase and sales ledger entries.

· Preparing monthly management accounts, including comparatives to budgets, trends and forecasts.

· Compiling Balance sheet reconciliations

· Facilitating the use of account software to generate management accounts reports.

· Preparing quarterly ‘Income and Expenditure’ reports for Managers.

· Preparing interim/final financial project reports for submission to funders.

· Providing accurate and timely financial information to support the organisational financial strategy and decision-making process

· Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed and reported correctly

· Streamlining and improving accounting systems, controls and process environment

· Reviewing and updating the current organisation's policies and procedures

· Preparing supporting schedules for annual audits and working with external accountants to assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.

Knowledge

As an experienced Finance Manager, you must be knowledgeable in the following areas:

· Proven expertise with computerised accounts systems.

· An understanding of Liberty Account software would be an added advantage.

· Understanding of Charities Commission requirements

· Highly proficient computer skills including in-depth knowledge of Excel and major Microsoft programs

· GCSE Mathematics and English

· AAT Level 3 or equivalent

· Good editing, data collection, and record-keeping with analysis skillset
