Collaborate closely with parish priests and lay leadership teams to offer fundraising support and implement Planned Giving campaigns. Liaise with parish and central finance teams to monitor the results of these campaigns, devising reports for the Head of Communications and Chief Operating Officer
• Guide and advise parish leadership teams to craft messages and communications that support fundraising and engage donors. Create and maintain core materials (including leaflets and documents) to support parish fundraising, reviewing these with the Head of Communications and arranging the logistics for their delivery
• Support the parish in localising core materials so that they reflect the financial picture of the parish and include facts, messages and images that are specific to the community
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure Gift Aid and data protection wording are correct and compliant. Prepare thank you letters and other materials as required
• Support parishes with the implementation and promotion of Contactless Giving, troubleshooting as and when required
• Help parishes with special appeals for capital projects. Research and write grant applications to trusts and foundations on behalf of parishes and the central Diocese
Support parishes and the central diocese in implementing a legacy strategy and support the Head of Communications in developing a strategy to engage high net worth donors in support of the mission of the Church
• Represent the Diocese at national meetings of the Catholic diocesan fundraising teams. Liaise with national colleagues to share and develop best practice and to access Continuing Professional Development
• Undertake other tasks to support colleagues within the Communications Team as required, such as proofreading, website updates, preparation of copy and images for the website and social media etc.

The main purpose of this role will be to provide clear, accurate and helpful retrofit and other related technical guidance in areas such as carbon foot-printing, building energy performance and renewable energy options to local and community organisations to help them tackle the climate emergency.
Pay and conditions
- The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- The salary for the role will be £29,864 - £35,770.

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Deliver training to local and community stakeholders on topics such as carbon literacy, retrofit, renewables and energy efficiency.
- Develop and strengthen tools, guidance and other materials for community organisations that help to increase their ability to deliver beneficial local retrofit initiatives.
- Undertake basic retrofit assessments of domestic and non-domestic buildings and provide useful guidance and recommendations on potential improvements.
- Provide carbon auditing, and recommendations for decarbonisation plans for community businesses.
- Support community organisations to design and deliver capital investment projects, develop funding bids, business cases and project delivery plans.
- Support community organisations to plan and deliver wider community engagement processes that help to foster leadership, consent and action.
- Facilitate learning, networking, and sharing between local and community organisations, staff and volunteers.
- Support CSE’s fundraising activities and the development of new models and approaches for the provision of retrofit activities and services at the local and community scale.
- Provide administrative support for timely delivery of project activities, accurate record keeping and robust reporting.
- Champion to key stakeholders (such as local authorities and funders) the importance of community engagement and the roles which local and community organisations can play in catalysing and enabling the decarbonisation of local homes and community buildings.
- Foster collaboration and deepen relationships with partner organisations who are active and interested in supporting similar areas of work.

Essential attributes for this role include:
- O’ Level/GCSE maths, Science and English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay and translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Relevant vocational or degree level qualification or equivalent work experience.
- Experience of assessing technical options for improving the energy performance of buildings.
- Experience in the repair, maintenance and home improvement sectors.
- Experience of working on community (non-domestic) buildings.
- An understanding of the design and construction of both modern and traditional buildings.
- The ability to write technical reports and provide recommendations and guidance to non-expert stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the broad themes driving the work of CSE.
- An enthusiasm for learning and problem solving.
- An understanding of the importance of effective administration and coordination to the successful delivery of projects.
- Empathy and understanding of different stakeholder situations.

As a funding officer serving our North region, (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Flintshire, Denbighshire Wrexham and North Powys) you will assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Anglesey, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with. You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Anglesey, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker. You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
The ability to communicate in Welsh fluently and confidently is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will work within the Youth Work Team to deliver our frontline drop-in service and support our weekly and monthly activities to all young people experiencing homelessness.
You’ll specialise in ensuring a diverse range of young people’s voices are heard, facilitating inclusive activities which increase youth participation across all our services and leading on the delivery of our youth forums. We have an ambitious plan to improve and accelerate our youth voice strategy and this role will be at the heart of this delivery.
You should be experienced in designing, planning and facilitating a range of activities and group work with and for young people and be able to work dynamically in a fast-paced day centre environment. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about youth engagement and skilled in bringing out the ideas, voices and opinions of young people to shape service delivery. We are seeking a Mission Enabler, Regional Mission to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. They will provide direction and energy to Scripture Union’s Regional Ministry with a focus on establishing and sustaining ministry opportunities. This will require the person to recruit, motivate, train, equip and support a large number of volunteers/Faith Guides, with whom they work in partnership as well as leading by example, through the modelling of excellent mission delivery to children and young people consistent with Scripture Union’s mission. This role will the cover Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex areas.
The successful candidate will:
· Identify, recruit and support Faith Guides, volunteers and Local Mission Partners (LMPs) through a range of methods, including electronic, phone and face to face.
· Provide relevant coaching and/or mentoring, equipping and resourcing for Faith Guides, volunteers and LMPs.
· Lead local mission activity within Scripture Union’s mission framework, establishing a clear hand-over process and timetable to local church partners.
· Pioneer new approaches/ideas in line with SU’s strategy that have the potential to be replicated elsewhere and lead to a greater scale and depth of mission activity.
· Support, by promotion or direct involvement, SU’s wider programme of holidays and missions across England and Wales and, if appropriate, internationally.
· Undertake specific fundraising activities and approaches in line with SU’s fundraising approach.
