The purpose of your role is to support the development of Nightline Association volunteers throughout the volunteer journey.
The Volunteer Development Team is responsible for guiding the development of the Nightline Association volunteer journey by creating effective and meaningful processes, promoting skill building and personal growth, and helping create a supportive community that recognises the contribution of volunteers. You will work closely with your team, the Volunteer Development Team Lead, as well as the Heads of Department, to ensure that volunteering is a beneficial and meaningful experience across the organisation.
Your line manager will be the Volunteer Development Team Lead. The Volunteer Development team sits within the Central Services department, led by the Head of Central Services. The Central Services department contains centralised functions, services, and operations that are used by the entire charity.

Bright Futures UK works with young people who have been forced to take time out from education due to chronic illness. We provide programmes to help stimulate learning in addition to having a social aspect that offers respite to isolation these young people face due to their unfortunate circumstances.

Every year, a large number of young people leave the care system in Greenwich Borough and far too many are not prepared for life after care or are not in education, employment or training. Grandmentors Greenwich is seeking volunteers across the borough willing to empower and support young people (aged 16 -24) transitioning from the care system to independent living. Typically the minimum length of time we would expect a volunteer to be in the role is 18 months, however the nature of the role means it could vary. It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.
The It Gets Better Project was founded in 2010 in America. Since then, affiliated charities have been formed in over 20 different countries. We are now at the exciting stage of continue to grow and develop the UK affiliate having formally launched in October 2018.
Join our network of Regional Ambassadors to help promote It Gets Better UK, to inspire and engage with members of their local LGBTQ+ communities to get involved, and to help fundraise.

About the role:
If you are an experienced fundraiser, we need your help! Been There’s Board of Trustees share ultimate responsibility for governing the charity and directing how it is managed and run. As a member of the Board, you will help set the strategic aims, objectives and direction of the charity. As a Fundraising Trustee, you will play a key role within our charity in assisting the Board to develop an ambitious fundraising strategy and help us to further improve the effectiveness of our income generation so we can maximise the number of service users we can provide support to. Befrienders will offer emotional support and promote self-care and healthy lifestyle choices to improve wellbeing and help alleviate isolation. We are seeking 2 Community Engagement Mangers to join our team and help raise awareness of BPD and our work. This is an exciting opportunity to join us, and gain experience of working for a small non-profit with big ambitions.
About Us
We are Borderline Support UK CIC, a non-profit organisation which is entirely volunteer-run and is led by our service users who are living with, or affected by, borderline personality disorder (BPD). We provide support and information to anyone in the UK affected by BPD. Every year we support more than 2000 people through our peer support groups and support services. We support people diagnosed with BPD, those who are living with symptoms, and their loved ones.
About the role
You will manage a small team of Community Engagement Officers – our Community Engagement Officers work in their local area, and help us to share information and raise awareness of BPD and our work. They act as ambassadors for our organisation, providing information in their local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a small team of Community Engagement Officers, including providing ongoing training, coaching and support
- Being a point of contact for team members
- Arranging and chairing regular team meetings
- Attending leadership meetings with reports, views and suggestions
- Acting as a positive ambassador for Borderline Support UK CIC
Experience

Time Commitment

Practical Considerations
You will receive training from the leadership team, and ongoing direction from a named key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete induction and basic training before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18, and have the right to live and work in the UK.
