Reports to: Chief Development Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Fundraising to lead the Fundraising department of Youth Advantage UK. The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for managing all fundraising initiatives and functions of the charity, including strategy development, donor engagement, and team leadership. This position requires a dynamic leader who can inspire and support the Fundraising team, ensure the charity complies with relevant laws and regulations, and drive the development of innovative fundraising strategies to secure long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

● Manage the Fundraising Team: Provide leadership to the fundraising team, including managing the fundraising manager and other team members.

● Develop Fundraising Strategies: Create and implement effective fundraising strategies to achieve financial targets and align with organisational goals.

● Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to regulations, policies, processes, and legislations, including data protection and the Charity Governance Code.

● Strengthen Donor Relationships: Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, trusts, and foundations to secure sustainable funding.

● Innovate Income Streams: Identify and develop new income streams, including digital fundraising, legacy giving, and strategic partnerships.

● Monitor Performance: Track fundraising metrics and provide reports to the Chief Development Officer.

● Promote Organisational Values: Ensure the charity’s values, mission, and approach are reflected in all fundraising activities.

● Foster Partnerships: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other organisations to enhance fundraising opportunities and resources.

Ideal Candidate:

● Experience: At least six months in a senior fundraising role with proven success in meeting and exceeding income targets.

● Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities to inspire and develop fundraising staff.

● Strategic Thinking: Ability to design and implement innovative fundraising strategies.

● Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills to engage donors, partners, and internal stakeholders effectively.

● Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with fundraising tools, CRM systems, and data analytics.

● Commitment to Inclusion: Understanding and experience in embedding diversity, equality, and inclusion within fundraising practices.

● Passion for Youth Development: Genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people and advancing the mission of Youth Advantage UK.

Day-to-day Tasks:

● Managing the fundraising team, including sharing best practices and meeting professional standards.

About the Role

The ePDP Programme Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the Enhanced Professional Development Programme (ePDP) and managing the ePDP Liaison. This position ensures the successful delivery of the ePDP, aligning it with organisational goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. The Programme Manager will work closely with senior leadership, Heads of Department (HoDs), and the ePDP Liaison to design, implement, and refine the programme, ensuring it meets the needs of participants and the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Oversight of the ePDP

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for the ePDP, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

• Collaborate with the Director: HRBP, Legal, IT & ePDP to define programme goals, KPIs, and success metrics.

• Continuously evaluate and refine the programme to address emerging needs and industry trends.

2. Team Leadership & Management

• Manage and mentor the ePDP Liaison, providing guidance and support to ensure effective programme execution.

• Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture, encouraging innovation and accountability.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Heads of Department (HoDs) and external partners to ensure programme relevance and impact.

• Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on programme progress and outcomes.

4. Programme Design & Implementation

• Oversee the design and delivery of ePDP content, ensuring it meets the developmental needs of participants.

5. Monitoring & Evaluation

6. Communication & Advocacy

• Promote the ePDP across the organisation, ensuring high visibility and engagement.

Required Skills

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to align the ePDP with organisational goals and adapt to changing priorities.

• Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams to achieve results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

We are currently seeking a volunteer PR & Marketing Manager. This role is ideal for an individual with previous experience in a PR/Marketing role looking to work within the charity sector. 

Responsibilities typically include: 

Writing and editing social media content, press releases, CWV guidelines, leaflets, speeches, newsletters and website content 

Utilising social media to maintain and manage the CWV image 

Representing CWV at events/presentations/meetings 

Owning and managing communications related to CWV’s online and offline presence 

Developing good working relationships with the media

overseeing and approving all social media content produced by social media team

Role of Trustee

The Trustee board is the principle governing body of CPRE London and is collectively responsible for the leadership and direction of the charity.

As a Trustee your role includes:

• Developing and overseeing implementation of our strategic plan to help us to deliver our vision.
• Offering independence, external perspective, skills and challenge
• Mentoring and supporting the staff and volunteers.

What we are seeking: Although keen to appoint dedicated Trustees offering a breadth of skills who share our aims, the Trustee board have identified key areas where specific knowledge and experience would be welcomed to complement the existing team:

Knowledge, skills and experience of housing policy and/or the planning system and planning law, relevant to ensuring that we encourage and influence planners and developers to maximise use of using housing stock, other buildings and brownfield sites in the creation of genuinely affordable housing, and that development is in line with our vision for London. Additional, useful background knowledge for any of our trustees includes:

• Technical knowledge of ecology / horticulture / forestry
• Experience with an environmental organisation or charity but this is not essential.

To best represent London’s diverse community on our Boards of Trustees and ensure all residents benefit from our green space advocacy, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Commitment:Estimate 1-2 days per month plus 4 board meetings

The Trustee board meets four times a year at our London office in Farringdon with meetings starting at 18.00 and generally finishing by 20.00. There may be ad hoc commitments in between the board meetings. In the autumn, the Trustees and staff attend a one-day off-site strategy meeting in the Greater London area. Trustees are also encouraged to attend the AGM.

All Trustees usually serve a three-year term of office from election at the annual AGM and are eligible for re-election for up to a further three years.

Light and Hope Initiative

We educate, empower, and restore hope to vulnerable communities in the Mathare slums, Kenya.

Our Challenge is Poverty. Poverty denies people of their basic needs such as; food, clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and education. It destroys hope, purpose, and self-worth. It infects hearts with isolation, apathy, dependency, disconnection, and addiction.

Our Strategy is Holistic Poverty stretches across the entire Mathare slums affecting almost everyone in this area. Its effects reach deeper. Uniquely connected to different causes, the effects of poverty are revolving—one result leads to another source leads to another consequence. Our consolidated strategy address brokenness in every sector of life to bring light and hope where none existed before. Every Light and hope program seeks to educate, empower, and restore hope to the vulnerable community members and set them on improved trajectories thus breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty.

GRANT/ DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

Responsibilities: Grant Research & Identification – Identify and research potential grant opportunities from local and international donors, foundations, and institutions that align with Light and Hope Initiative’s mission.

Proposal Writing & Submission – Develop compelling grant proposals, funding applications, and concept notes, ensuring they meet donor requirements and effectively communicate the impact of our work.

Donor Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, grant agencies, and funding partners to enhance long-term collaboration.

Fundraising Strategy Development – Assist in creating and implementing a sustainable fundraising strategy, including grant funding, corporate sponsorships, and individual giving campaigns.

Reporting & Compliance – Monitor grant obligations, track fund usage, and prepare progress reports for donors, ensuring transparency and compliance with funding requirements.

Collaboration with Program Teams – Work closely with the program teams to understand project needs, gather data, and develop funding proposals that align with organizational goals.

Capacity Building – Train and support other team members in grant writing and donor engagement to strengthen the organization's fundraising capacity.

Impact Documentation – Collect success stories, testimonials, and data to demonstrate the effectiveness of funded programs and improve grant applications.

Innovative Fundraising Initiatives – Explore and develop creative approaches for fundraising, including digital campaigns, crowdfunding, and partnerships.
