Our Galley Team daily supplies the Crew, Day Crew, patients and caregivers with the food they need to keep on going. The Galley team will prepare up to 1,700 meals a day in a role that is mostly performed standing up and moving around, while keeping the best possible standards in hygiene.
What You Will Contribute
• Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards.
• Assist in the setup and stocking of cooking stations with necessary supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the galley area, adhering to sanitation standards.
• Adapt to any changes in the menu or galley procedures as directed by the Galley Team Leader, Senior Chef, or Food Services Manager.

It is the only aphasia charity set up by people with aphasia for people with aphasia; helping them to adapt to their new way of life and regain their independence and confidence.
Aphasia occurs due to injury to the brain such as a stroke. It affects access to language, resulting in difficulties following conversations, speaking, reading and writing. People’s language can be affected to different degrees so not everyone’s aphasia looks the same. Imagine for a moment not being able to verbally order a coffee or ask for a bus ticket. This may be what life could look like for someone with aphasia. Aphasia is a lifelong condition and means that the person living with aphasia, their friends and family will need to adjust to a new way of communicating to overcome barriers. This may mean having to write or draw things instead of speaking. Due to the damage in the brain, people with aphasia may find it difficult to process conversions as quickly as before. Aphasia frequently results in loss of employment and a reduced social network, leading to isolation for the person living with aphasia.
Say Aphasia are always looking to welcome new volunteers to help out at the drop-in groups.
Volunteering for the charity is very rewarding. The training and support ensures that the volunteers learn and enjoy their time with the charity. By giving your time to people with aphasia, you will be improving their quality of life. Many of the members attending the groups live alone, or have minimal social interactions. Having a regular drop-in group to meet others with similar experiences of living with aphasia, vastly improves their mental health and well being. About Kith & Kids
We provide activities, opportunities, information, and support for people with a learning disability or autism, their parents and siblings.
For all our projects and activities we are dependent on volunteers.
Our Summer Project
Fri 27th – Tue 31st December, 9:30am – 5:30pm in North London.
We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers, to join us on our fantastic fun-filled Xmas Social Development Project.
Volunteers and our members who have disabilities get to know each other as they take part in fun and challenging workshops including sports & games, arts & crafts, cooking and enjoying a day out in London.
What you'll do
On the project you and a fellow volunteer will be paired with one of our members with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to take part in a wide range of activities led by professional therapists and workshop leaders.
Our core activities are sports & games, arts & crafts, drama and music. Previous additional workshops have also included photography, football and cooking and you’ll plan your own exciting outing around London with a fellow volunteer and the Kith & Kids member you're linked with.
Not only is it a week full of fun and games for you and our members, you are a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment.

Requirements
What you need
You do not need experience. Full disability awareness training will be provided before you begin volunteering with us.
The only requirements we ask of you are enthusiasm, energy and to be open-minded.
Minimum age for volunteers is 18.
How much time?
The project runs for 5 days, Fri 27th – Tue 31st December, 9:30am – 5:30pm in North London.
Everyone gets the most out of the project if you come for the full five days as you'll build a close relationship with the member you'll have been supporting and will create the most impact.
What we can offer you

We'll also provide excellent training before the project, and lots of helpful support.
By volunteering on our project, you'll also:

About the Project:
This exciting new project is a collaboration between Art Explora, a non-profit arts organisation, and Bright Futures UK, a charity that supports young people with long-term illness. The project aims to bring fun, lively and creative art workshops to young people in hospitals across London to children aged between 5- 8 years old.
Role Description:
Do you love art? Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to accessing arts & culture for families? Join Art Explora and Bright Futures as a Mini Art volunteer to deliver fun creative activities to children and families in a hospital setting, for children living with long-term illnesses.
As a Hospital Workshop Leader, you will play a vital role in this project by:
- Delivering one hour of creative activities to children and their families in a hospital setting. If you are a confident communicator and passionate about arts and culture, we would love to hear from you. Volunteers will have a library of simple creative activities to use at the sessions.
- You will use your creativity and passion for the arts to ensure the sessions are adaptive and accessible to cater to the interests and abilities of young people with long-term illness.
- Providing a positive and supportive learning environment: You will create a welcoming and inclusive space where young people feel comfortable expressing themselves and trying new things.
- Offering encouragement and guidance: You will support young people in exploring their artistic talents and developing new skills.
- Collaborating with Bright Futures UK Staff and healthcare staff: You will work closely with staff to ensure that the workshops are delivered in a safe and sensitive manner.

- Collaborate with all Directors to promote all aspects of YAF’s activity, including but not limited to:
- Events, both digital and in-person, in collaboration with the Events & Operations team
- Partnerships and network growth, in collaboration with the Professional Development team
- Digital content, in collaboration with the Communications team Collaborate with the wider YAF team to identify specific regional issues YAF can highlight to support our members, ensuring regional representation exists in YAF strategy, communications, events and mentoring programme.

- Manage budget and finance for partnership activity, liaising with other Directors

Role Overview:
As a Trustee Board Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Trustee Board. Your work will directly support the charity's mission to improve the lives of those living with mast cell diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and schedule trustee board meetings.
- Prepare, circulate, and archive meeting agendas, minutes, and related documents.
- Assist with governance and compliance matters.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of board decisions and discussions.
- Provide general administrative support to the board.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Kingdom Leadership Group
Helping the youth to discover and unlock their leadership potential so they can fulfill their destiny.
Our current education system (especially in Africa) doesn't provide any training or guidance on leadership development to the youth. Youth are taught how to build a career but not how to lead themselves and others. This has led to many of the ills we face in society such as crime, corruption, wars, and the climate crisis.
Our solution is to introduce leadership education and training to secondary students by establishing Simba clubs in high schools. The inspiration for these clubs is the lion (simba) who stands tall as the king of the jungle despite not being the biggest, tallest, strongest, fastest, or even the most intelligent animal in the jungle. The secret to the lion’s leadership is his attitude, something we can all cultivate and become impactful leaders in our communities. The clubs will teach the youth what it takes to be a leader through a dedicated leadership curriculum and reflective exercises.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)
We are looking for an experienced graphic designer to help update our brand logo and create four additional visual concepts for our various programs. In this short-term role, you will collaborate closely with our leadership team to refine and brainstorm concepts for the logos and visual elements, ensuring they align with our brand's mission and identity.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Taking part in creative sessions to define the aesthetic direction and unique identity for each visual.
- Creating visually engaging and professional designs that communicate the purpose of each program.
- Presenting multiple options and iterations for feedback, refining the designs to meet branding goals.
We’re looking for someone with a strong portfolio in branding and logo design. Experience in working with teams to translate ideas into cohesive designs is essential.
