The organization implements projects centered around education, training, and healthcare to empower young people. It serves as a resource for youth, providing advice, skill development, employment opportunities, and educational advancement. YOUTH LINK NETWORKS aims to create a global network of young individuals to inspire social and economic progress in their respective countries.

Role Description

This is a volunteer role as a Trustee - Fundraising at YOUTH LINK NETWORKS located in London, with flexibility for some remote work. The Trustee - Fundraising will be responsible for overseeing fundraising activities, developing fundraising strategies, and building relationships with donors and sponsors to support the organization's initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or philanthropy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinking and ability to develop fundraising plans
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices
• Commitment to the organization's mission and values

Time commitment:

Volunteer 4 annual meetings per year which take place once a quarter (March, June, September, December). 

Volunteer an additional 12 days per year to cascade expertise, systems and information to the wider team to build a strategic fundraising plan that brings in more income for the charity and contributes to us achieving our goals.

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, so most of the care that we provide is funded through fundraising and through our shops.

To help us to continue to provide the care that we do, we are looking for fun and enthusiastic volunteers to join us in our Blackheath shop. Our shops are exciting and dynamic, with no two days being the same. From our walk-in customers, to receiving donations, and everything in between

As a Shop Volunteer with us, you will be:

• Engaging with customers
• Accepting and sorting donated stock
• Pricing donations for sale
• Working on the till

Our shops are open Monday to Saturday (some open on Sundays too) 9am to 5pm.  You can volunteer the hours that suit you, but it would be great if you could support in the shop for at least 3 hours a week.

The Role: Fundraising Volunteer

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference by generating essential funds, bringing innovative ideas, engaging corporate sponsors, writing bids, and more.

What Does the Role Involve?

• Generating funds for the charity through various initiatives.

WAY is Swindon's young person-led charity, creating a way for lasting change in our communities.

We are passionate about journeying alongside young people who face disadvantage, believing in their potential as they take steps towards a more hopeful future. 

Mentoring begins by taking time to get to know the young person, identifying their strengths and aspirations as well as their needs and the challenges they face. Mentor’s then tailor the support to the young person and, together, they take positive steps towards an identified goal to attain and sustain positive change.

Our mentors meet with young people for one hour a week over a period of 12 months, meeting in a space the young person feels comfortable (such as café or park near their home).

If you’re able to encourage a young person aged 10-25 for just an hour a week, you also have an opportunity to significantly impact their lives. Just one hour a week can change the direction of a young person’s life. One of our volunteer mentors said:

• Removing dead heads and lifting garden rubbish
• Mowing the grass to keep it fresh and tidy
• Assisting with other garden-related activities as needed

• Supporting older people to gain digital skills and knowledge on a computer, tablet and smart phone via one to one or in small group sessions
• Supporting older people to use digital apps, emails, search the internet, online shopping and set up online accounts
• Supporting older people to learn the skills to keep in touch with family and friends, such a video call and messaging
• Support individuals to agree and aspire on the steps/ goals they would like to achieve in the sessions
• Lead on the logistics and organisation of the sessions alongside the staff team
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team

At Hestia we have gardens and outdoor spaces which require your support to bring these back to life by keeping them maintained. We are recruiting for volunteers to motivate and inspire staff and people living in our services to get involved in gardening.

What you will be doing

• Inspire and motivate staff and people in the services to get involved in maintaining and growing the garden
• To provide tips on how to maintain and grow the garden - sowing seeds, planting bulbs, taking cuttings
• Provide basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking
• Lead in planting and nurturing new trees, flowers, and various plants
• Provide best practice on how to use the correct gardening tools
• Inspire people in our services and staff to maintain a clean garden
• Advise staff on the costs of plants and garden necessities

Your Role as a Mentor
