We are working in partnership with the Royal Maritime Hotel (RMH) to secure new Trustees. RMH is operated by a charitable trust, the Portsmouth Royal Maritime Club, which owns the freehold of the whole building and runs the Hotel through a limited company as a commercial business, to generate funds for its charitable work. The Club’s beneficiaries are serving and former seafarers, including members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Merchant Fleet. However, in addition, membership of the Club is open to all serving and retired members of all the Armed Forces and their families, as well as Police, Fire and Ambulance service members, volunteers from the RNLI and members of the local community. The Club currently has over 8,000 members of whom 7,500 are serving or retired seafarers, soldiers or airmen.
The RMH is now seeking experienced and committed individuals to join its Board of Trustees to oversee strategic development and direction, making a major contribution to the future success of the organisation. The charity has identified key areas that would benefit from specific expertise and experience and candidates with these skill sets are encouraged to apply:
- Finance
- Facilities
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- A commitment to the Royal Maritime Hotel and its purpose and values, and a willingness to lead according to the organisation’s traditions and values
- Leadership skills, with strong collaborative abilit
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to Board level discussions
- Tact and diplomacy, with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of accountancy and/or bookkeeping and audit (finance)
- Experience of operations / maintenance of buildings, including mechanical and electrical works (M&E) (facilities)
Board meetings are held 4 times a year, with other commitments as required.

At Home HR Volunteer
Caring Volunteers Needed: Are you concerned about our world’s future? You can have a

and there each month. Do you enjoy Human Relations and thrive working in the human
relations division of any Institution, University or Association? Then we need you.
As an online “ At Home” Volunteer, you will be working with people from a wide variety of
countries and cultures, all believing in passing on the right to basic education, the importance of
cultural exchange, and giving voice to the voiceless.
The Position: We ask Volunteers to contribute a minimum of one hour a month. Within our
Human Resource Division you will be learning to process applicants from around the world,

accents as well as proficient in your Interviewing skills and background research. You will

Volunteer with us at Henry Sandon Hall, for our Celebrate Your Star on Sunday 8th December
At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £11 million a year to run our care services.
What's involved?
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make our Christmas concert a memorable and heart-warming event. Volunteers will assist with setup and takedown, support registration, and help with refreshment sales. This special event is a warm and reflective celebration, honouring those remembered with a star on our Christmas tree, and offers a meaningful way to give back during the holiday season.
How much time will it take?
1pm to 6pm either for the whole event or a few hours
Parking at venue can be arranged if volunteers have mobility issues, or free street parking is available in the area surrounding the venue.
