Acorns have a network of shops across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire that generate a substantial level of income to enable us to care for children and their families. 

Our empowered Till Volunteers support by greeting customers with a smile, taking payment for purchases, issuing change and receipts. You will also accept any donations that are made to the charity and support with signing donators for Gift Aid.

Am I right for the job?

• Be welcoming and friendly

For this role, you'll need to:

• Thankfully accept donated goods
• Be sensitive to the needs of our customers/donators
   

How much time will it take?
Our Pershore shop is open Monday to Sunday (Sunday -10am to 4pm). You can volunteer the hours that suit you, but ideally, we’ll need you to be available for at least 3 hours per week.

Join us at the Nachural Business Dinner & Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements in our region, and help make a difference with Acorns Children’s Hospice!

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £13 million a year to run our care services.

What's involved?

• Going table to table and sell raffle tickets to help fund our vital services.
• Dress to impress: black tie/smart evening wear required.
• Free parking and complimentary food provided

How much time will it take? 

Any time that you can support between 6pm to 11pm

Replenishment and Merchandising Volunteer -  New Volunteer Opportunity in Acorn's Children's Hospice Superstore 

The Role

Our empowered Replenishment and Merchandising Volunteers support the team by replenishing stock on the shop floor and by merchandising it in an eye catching and engaging fashion.

Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

Candidates will need to support Youth Leader with the running of Youth Unit meetings

If you are successful you will need to undertake induction & training for role at these dates:

The Chester Shop is a beautiful community hub with two floors of creativity and vintage treasures!

Our Chester Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

By providing live-saving short-term help, and pushing for deep-rooted social change, we help children take, their future into their own hands. We believe every child has the right to learn.
