We now have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer Co-Chief Social Impact Officer to join ADC and job share with our current volunteer Chief Social Impact Office Francesco Carvelli.
Main Purpose of Job: To oversee the design and delivery of social impact programs while ensuring their financial viability through fundraising and partnerships.

Position Reports to: Founder and CEO
Position is Responsible for: Head of Fundraising, Head of Programs, Head of Partnerships, Head of Policy & Research
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of ADC’s social impact strategy, including practical tools and systems that not only track and measure impact performance, but also integrate impact analysis into strategy and decision-making
- Lead the development of ADC’s fundraising strategy, with a focus on developing long-term strategic public and private sector partnerships with global and regional corporates, institutions, foundations and high net worth individuals
- Play a role in relation to revenue generation by helping to define market relevant value propositions for consulting services based on our Theory of Change, with a goal of achieving a business model that is financially sustainable and delivers on ADC’s strategic vision for catalysing social impact
- Lead the creation of new social impact programs, interventions and goals that will inspire and drive the organisation to deliver social impact at scale, and ensuring that the ADC approach and Theory of Change is upheld and enhanced
- Lead the development of thought leadership initiatives that position ADC as an influential driver of systemic social change in Africa and leader in social impact research
- Play a role in creating and maintaining social impact content, and making it accessible to our Marketing & Communications team for sharing with internal and external audiences to promote ADC’s work
- Coordinate and provide oversight and support to the Social Impact team, guiding recruitment and onward career development of team members
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential
- +15 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector
- A track record of leading successful fundraising campaigns and grants applications
- Experience of design and delivery of social impact programs
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop long term relationships with institutional sponsors and individual major donors
- Familiarity with impact assessment methodologies and latest developments in the impact measurement field
- Ability to create powerful narratives that present social impact in a simple manner
- Ability to drive strategy in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team environment
- Demonstrated ability to create global and regional networks across the industry
- Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment
- Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment
- A committed team player with good communication skills
- Available to volunteer at least 10-15 hours a week
Desirable
- Experience working in an early stage star-tup and gone through a scaling phase
- Passion for the start-up life and comfortable in a role with a little ambiguity
- Experience leading, managing and coaching successful teams in different geographical locations

Main Purpose of Job: The HR Communications Manager will act as the HR Public Relations & Events Manager, and it will lead ADC Volunteer-focused communication initiatives by crafting compelling narratives to drive volunteer engagement and bring HR initiatives to life across internal channels

Main Duties & Objectives:
- Develop and implement a communications strategy for ADC’s HR initiatives
- Create engaging content for ADC’s internal general channel regarding new joiners, exits promotions and other HR-related topics to keep Volunteers updated of organizational changes
- Manage the creation and distribution of HR-related marketing materials, namely newsletters, messages for emails, messages for posts, scripts for presentations, etc., to raise internal awareness about HR Projects and Initiatives
- Plan and execute internal HR events (virtual and in-person), such as town halls, induction sessions, get-togethers, etc
- Serve as liaison between the People Team and other teams to facilitate open and transparent communication
- Track the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives through surveys, analytics, and ADC’s Executive Team feedback to continually improve internal communications practices
- Participate in HR project management meetings
Knowledge, skills, education, and experience
Essential
- Available to volunteer at least 7-10 hours a week
- 4-5 year’s experience in a communications or PR related role
- Experience creating marketing materials, namely newsletters, scripts for emails, presentations
- Ability to attend People & Culture bi-weekly meeting
- Experience planning and executing virtual and in-person events

Main purpose of job: Develop and implement our social media & content strategy in order to increase our online presence and drive engagement

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a content calendar across all social platforms ensuring a constant supply of relevant content (1 post per week on LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram – initially)
- Collate content for, prepare and publish the monthly volunteer newsletter through MailChimp
- Identify and engage with key social influencers to create beneficial relationships and strong networks and grow the ADC brand
- Perform social listening across all social platforms by monitoring and responding to relevant brand mentions and identifying opportunities for engaging in related topics/discussions
- Define social media KPIs, measure and optimize social media performance metrics, and develop enhanced reporting
- Develop and implement E2E fundraising campaigns
- Manage and oversee social media content
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in social and content management
- Experience using MailChimp or similar software
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms
- Experience of forming relationships with key influencers on social media
- Good understanding of SEO metrics and social media KPIs
- Ability to come up with creative content (text, image and video)
- Available to volunteer at least 7 hours a week
- Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment
- Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment
- A committed team player with good communication skills.

- Experience of establishing online communities on social media
- Experience working in an early stage start-up and gone through a scaling phase

- Establish ADC’s strategy that builds increased levels of engagement, understanding and involvement in our long-term plans
- Take overall accountability to shape and evolve our narrative and relevance across key audiences
- Shape our communications and engagement strategies
- Secure relevant media and interview opportunities to support overall positioning and earn media reach through engaging byline submissions
- Write speeches, prepare interview outlines and FAQ's, and directly support our founder with media readiness
- Lead, manage and support internal communications
- Ensure systems and frameworks are developed to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and engagement strategies to measure impact and ensure added value
- Use data and insights to measure the success of communications and engagement strategies
Requirements:
Essential
- A natural storyteller and great copywriter in English
- Excellent understanding of the global media landscape and how to make the most out of a story
- Brilliant communication skills and the ability to translate ideas into PR tactics, especially in the charity sector
- Ability to build cut through and differentiation in narrative
- Ready to roll up your sleeves with a tenacious approach to getting our story told
- Experience with influential industry events and managing speaking opportunities

- An existing network of media and press contacts is also highly valued
