This vital service line is a direct response to our core objective of fostering economic empowerment through education and skill enhancement. By providing access to aspirational, transformative and essential learning resources, practical workshops, and mentorship opportunities, this programme aims to unlock the full potential of our community members. This programme is integral to achieving our vision of a thriving Afro-Hebrew community with access to opportunities that empower them to overcome socio-economic challenges. By offering workshops on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, job skills, mentoring, and work experience opportunities, as well as sponsoring educational resources like school supplies and private tuition, we directly support our mission to uplift those in need. This programme not only aligns with Barawak's objective to foster economic empowerment but also embodies our commitment to providing the tools and knowledge necessary for personal and community growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute the Education & Skill Development strategy and service line:
• Workshop Coordination: Organize quarterly workshops on key topics such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and job skills, ensuring these sessions are informative and engaging for the community.
• Mentoring and Work Experience: Facilitate biannual mentoring events, pairing community members with experienced mentors. Arrange work experience opportunities to enhance vocational skills and job readiness.
• Resource Distribution: Oversee the annual sponsorship of educational resources, such as school supplies and private tuition, to support the educational development of community members.
2. Measure performance: Keep accurate count of the number of workshops held; the participant satisfaction rates; and the number of educational resources sponsored. Provide this data to the Governance Team and Trustees on request.
3. Collaboration with Verticals Teams:
• Partnership Development & Collaboration Team: Coordinate with this team to identify and establish alliances and partnerships with local, regional and global organisations, businesses, councils, and thegovernment to acquire education and skill development resources, speakers or information.
• Fundraising & Financial Management Team: Collaborate with this team to conduct fundraising activities and financial planning for the Education and Skill Development service line. Identify diverse revenue streams, such as grants, donations, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events for the Education and Skill Development service.
• Volunteer Engagement Team: Work with this team to recruit, train and manage volunteers to support the Education and Skill Development service delivery.
• Marketing Outreach & Advocacy: work with this team to enhance visibility of the Education and Skill Development service across social media, press, andcommunity events.
4. Governance Team Interaction: Provide regular updates and reports to the Governance, Secretariat & Performance Reporting team. Ensure programmealignment with Barawak policies, procedures, strategyand objectives. Collaborate on monitoring and evaluation efforts to assess Education and Skill Developmentservice impact and effectiveness.

- Participate in delivering an onboarding webinar for ISocs prior to the start of the academic year

Hurst Farm Regeneration Limited, trading as Hurst Farm Wild Works, is a charitable community benefit society established in 2022.
We want to improve the lives and environment of people living on the Hurst Farm Estate in Matlock, Derbyshire. Local residents are working with us to achieve our mission through a range of practical outdoor activities including woodland management, a community garden, dry-stone walling and bee-keeping. Our aim is to create financial sustainability through the delivery of viable social enterprises on Hurst Farm, which are owned and operated by local people.
We are working closely with Derbyshire Dales District Council on the delivery of the £1.2m National Lottery Heritage Fund funded Hurst Farm Heritage Trail project which is expected to run until the end of 2026. The project aims to improve the existing footpaths around the Hurst Farm Woodland, connecting four heritage sites.
We are being mentored by The Green Estate Community Interest Company, who are using their 25-year experience of building successful national social enterprises on the Manor Estate in Sheffield.
We now need to recruit additional trustees to strengthen the Society’s existing Board which is responsible for areas such as governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management and delivery of the organisation's mission and values.

○ Plan and oversee the proposal development process, working closely with the academic team to collate relevant planning and impact information for proposal narrative, and with the finance team to prepare budget requirements.
○ Ensure proposals are written in line with the relevant proposal guidelines.

- Donor Relations:

We work with hundreds of adult volunteers every year at Skelton Grange Environment Centre, running practical and wellbeing based volunteering sessions and managing and improving our beautiful wildlife area in South East Leeds.
Volunteer Officers are a key part of our team, working both independently and with volunteer teams and the local community at Skelton Grange Environment Centre, helping to plan, prepare and run sessions. You will be trained and supported by experienced project staff and work as part of a team with paid staff, trainees and Volunteer Officers.
Typical activities for Volunteer Officers include:
- Leading or assisting groups of volunteers on practical conservation tasks, including preparing and organising activities, supporting and training volunteers (including some with additional support needs) looking after tools, refreshments and group welfare.

What will you be doing?
The Ampleforth Abbey Trust wishes to appoint a trustee with fundraising expertise and experience who will be able to align fundraising with the charity’s overall Strategic Plan and ensure effective income generation.
As the specialist fundraising trustee, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Ampleforth community by setting and monitoring the Trust’s strategic direction to ensure sustainable delivery of core objectives.
Main duties:
- Fundraising strategy: provide expertise, advice and guidance to align fundraising within the charity’s overall Strategic Plan to ensure effective income generation
- Fundraising Steering Group: work with the Chair of the board and invited experts on a Fundraising Steering Group
- Donor engagement: collaborate with the monastic community and the board of trustees to develop and monitor a donor engagement plan
- Compliance and Risk: ensure compliance with legal requirements, assess risks in fundraising planning, alerting the Board of Trustees in a timely manner about any concerns
- To report to the Board at a strategic level on the successes and challenges of the fundraising strategy.

We are looking, in particular, for one or more of the following skills/experience to complement our existing Trustees:

We are looking for a Program Coordinator for our Adult Education Program based in Ioannina, for a minimum commitment of 6 months.
In this role, you’ll be coordinating the implementation of language classes and associated tasks at two refugee camps: Katsikas and Agia Eleni.
The majority of the students are from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The sites have two to four English classes each day, which are differentiated by English ability from A0 to A2.
Role description
You will…
- Coordinate and manage daily operations of the adult education program
- Develop the program in coordination with the Programs Manager
- Assess impact and effectiveness against program objectives
- Ensure that teachers are equipped with the necessary knowledge to complete their administrative tasks to a high standard and in a timely fashion
- Conduct regular class observations, providing teachers with quality feedback on their teaching
- Provide new teachers with key insights into language teaching in the refugee context
- Ensure inductions to and exits from the education team are smooth and effective, including successful handover of classes between teachers
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders and represent Second Tree in relevant external meetings
- Capture and compile monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) reports in line with program deadlines
