Job description

Are you passionate about children’s literacy and the role it plays in enabling children to seize life’s opportunities and write their own story? Do you want to see children living in inequitable circumstances given an equal chance to make the best of life? Are you looking for a trustee opportunity where you can use your skills and experience at Board level to help govern and develop our charity and bring the joy of reading to children living with little or no access to books? If so, read on!

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our Board of Trustees, who share our passion for addressing child literacy issues in the under 12s from disadvantaged areas, and our vision of all children thriving in homes where a love of reading is embraced. We are seeking individuals particularly  with a backgrounds/skills/experience in any of the following areas:

•  Lived experience of the issues the families we work with are facing in the UK today

•  Impact and evaluation

•  Community & referral pathways

•  Social Enterprise/Franchising

•  Volunteering - recruitment & retention

•  Marketing & media

•  Education/literacy

•  Publishing
