Tai Impact

Tai is an innovative organisation known for its enabling environment for local and international young people to thrive. It has provided over 500 opportunities for local and international students since its inception in 2013. It embraces diversity, creativity, fun and servant leadership. It has received several awards for its innovative ways of solving community challenges that affect marginalized communities.

In Tanzania, nearly 37% of girls are married before the age of 18, leading to several serious consequences. Early marriage often disrupts education, causing girls to drop out of school and limiting their future opportunities, thereby perpetuating poverty. Child brides face significant health risks, including complications from early pregnancies and childbirth, and are more vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Economic dependence on spouses limits their financial independence and decision-making power. They are at higher risk of domestic violence and abuse, with severe psychological impacts such as depression and anxiety. This cycle perpetuates intergenerational poverty and reinforces social inequality by limiting girls' and women's ability to participate fully in society, undermining gender equality and empowerment efforts.

Tai's innovative solution to Tanzania's challenges centres on using digital media and storytelling to educate, empower, and inspire social change. Through traditional and digital platforms, our content reaches over 12 million viewers and listeners.

Digital Communications & Social Media Volunteer

Role Description

We are seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Manager and Digital Communications Volunteer to join our dynamic team for 6 weeks. Your main work will be managing Tai Animation Studios and Animation Tanzania Social media platforms content including The Animation Tanzania Film Festival scheduled on 31st October 2024.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation, digital marketing, and social media management within the creative media and animation industry.

Key Responsibilities are as follow:

-Content Creation: Develop engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok. -Write copies that resonate with the audience. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for content and campaigns. -Assist in promoting campaigns and initiatives related to The Animation Tanzania Film Festival.

-Content Calendar Management: Collaborate with Content Manager to create and manage a comprehensive content calendar for Tai Animation Studios and ATFF.( The Animation Tanzania Film Festival) -Schedule posts and ensure timely delivery of content across all platforms. -Monitor and adjust the content calendar based on performance metrics and audience engagement.

-Social Media Management: -Oversee day-to-day management of social media accounts. Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and fostering discussions. -Analyze trends and leverage hashtags to increase visibility and engagement. -Analyze social media performance using analytics tools, and provide insights for improving engagement and reach and develop strategies to grow our follower base and enhance audience interaction.

It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.

Founded in 2010 in America, the It Gets Better Project has since grown into a global movement, with affiliated charities in 20 different countries. We launched in the UK in October 2018 and have grown significantly since then. • Corporate Partnerships and Strategic Fundraising:

• Charity Law:
  • Extensive knowledge of UK charity law, with experience in providing legal advice on governance, compliance, contracts, and safeguarding within a charitable context.
     
• Small Charity Growth and Development:
  • Proven track record in leading or advising small charities through periods of growth. Expertise in strategic planning, resource management, volunteer engagement, and scaling operations sustainably.
     
• Community Engagement and Advocacy:
  • Deep understanding of the LGBTQ+ community, with experience in community organising, advocacy, or public engagement. Ability to build strong relationships with community stakeholders and effectively represent the charity’s mission.

Roles and responsibilities

As a trustee, you will play a critical role in guiding our strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and supporting the delivering of our mission. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with fellow trustees and staff to develop and implement strategies that align with the charity’s goals and ensure its sustainable growth.
• Advisory Role: Provide expert advice in your area of expertise, whether that be corporate partnerships, legal matters, charity growth, or community engagement.
• Support and Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting our work and engaging with key stakeholders to advance our mission.
• Operational Input: While our board is transitioning from an operational to a more strategic focus, trustees will still be expected to take on functional roles as needed, especially in areas where the charity requires additional support

Time commitment

• The Board meets at least four times a year.
• It is expected the trustees spent at least two hours a week on their duties.
• As we continue to transition our board to a more strategic focus, trustees may be asked to support operational tasks on an as-needed basis.

Freshwater Habitats Trust (FHT) is the UK’s leading charity for all freshwaters. We’ve been creating, restoring and protecting high quality habitats for freshwater wildlife for more than 30 years.

Our aim is to reverse the decline in freshwater biodiversity. We work to achieve this through practical conservation, scientific research, community engagement and by influencing policy. We need you to facilitate our Talk and Support weekly telephone groups that offer blind and partially sighted people the opportunity to socialise with others when the regular group facilitator is unavailable.

This is a telephone-based role that you can do from home. You will need access to a landline and/or mobile phone We ask you to commit to covering up to 3 groups per week, although this will vary on a week by week basis. Each group you cover will last for one hour.
