About The Role
You will be part of our Learning & Development Team, working with stakeholders across SUNSHINE. Through a variety of activities you will help us to achieve organisational goals, develop teams and provide high quality training and learning opportunities for staff and volunteers across the organisation.
In This Role You Will
- Lead on a range of learning opportunities that support both individual and organisational needs across SUNSHINE.
- Lead on development and implementation of positive action across a range of career development and progression opportunities.
- Work with colleagues to develop talent progression pathways and opportunities.
Whilst our main office is currently in Tower Hill, London, we are flexible and encourage a blended working pattern including working from home and across other London SUNSHINE hub locations. More details will be provided at interview stage.
About You
In order to be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will:
- Have experience of designing and delivering impactful and creative learning programmes with demonstrable impact.
- Take a multi-faceted approach to overcoming barriers to inclusion and progression.

We're looking for a volunteer to fill the role of Graphic Designer, who can support our small charity make a big difference by creating some amazing eye catching, stunning, vibrant and uplifting graphic designs that create a brand identity for our amazing hard working volunteer run charity.
We are especially interested in the following graphic design items;
- Guide Booklet (To promote our new charity as we don't have a website yet).
- Volunteer Booklet (To welcome new volunteers into SUNSHINE, making them feel welcomed and valued).
- Social Media Posts (To create and promote our upcoming campaigns, fundraisers and volunteer initiatives and to create impact and tell our story).
- Roller Banner (To have up at internal and external events).
- Motion Graphics (To help us raise our profile and awareness of our work)

We're looking for a volunteer to join us as a member of the Volunteering Team, who can support our brand new small charity make a big difference by leading on setting up of our volunteering programme, including the recruitment, selection, induction and training of volunteers at SUNSHINE, ensuring we are an amazing charity to volunteer for that really values our volunteers and creates an amazing organisational culture and team spirit, creating a close knit team of dedicated, passionate and committed positive role models.
You will be responsible for;
- The first point of contact with potential volunteers, including sending out volunteer application packs and responding to application enquiries.
- Evaluate applications, conduct interviews, and analyse candidates’ skills and match them with suitable volunteer positions within SUNSHINE and also perform background checks and review references.
- To collaborate with managers and wider team to identify which departments need volunteers.
- To establish the necessary volunteer numbers and skills, ensuring a smooth coordination between volunteer activities and other roles within SUNSHINE.
- To maintain accurate records of volunteers’ activities and contributions.
- To retain volunteers, creating a positive experience, recognising their efforts, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- To handle administrative tasks related to volunteer scheduling, training, and reporting.
- To ensure that volunteers receive proper orientation, induction and training and that volunteers understand their responsibilities.
- To coordinate volunteer activities, monitor progress, and address any logistical issues.

We're looking for a volunteer to fill the role of Trustee and as our Treasurer/Accountant sitting on the Board of Trustees at SUNSHINE. As our Treasurer/Accountant, you’ll lead on the financial management and controls of SUNSHINE, including creating financial systems, processes and policies, lead on banking related matters and register SUNSHINE with HMRC for both Gift-Aid and also PAYE.
You MUST have UK finance experience and an accounting qualification.
You will also act as a Trustee at SUNSHINE, supporting the work of the Board of Trustees, especially at the set up phase and charity registration process.
You will work with fellow Trustees to;
- Lead and participate in quarterly Trustee Meetings and actively take part in discussions and decisions that benefit SUNSHINE and supporting its impact in the community.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to the organisation.
- Lead on all financial management and controls at SUNSHINE and Report on the financial aspects of the charity and answer questions at board meetings.
- Register SUNSHINE with the Charity Commission and complete Annual Reports and Audits.
- Register SUNSHINE with HMRC for Gift Aid and lead on the management of this.
- Lead on the creation of a Business Plan and a SUNSHINE 3 year Strategy with other Trustees.
- Lead on and contribute to the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures with other Trustees.
- Lead on fundraising activities that generate much needed income, including grant writing with other Trustees.
- Support and advise the CEO, ensuring a good working and professional relationship.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community members.
- Ensure that SUNSHINE has the much needed resources and support it needs to carry out its much needed community work.
- Other Trustee duties relevant for a start-up charity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person, with a legal background, who could devote their time to volunteer as a trustee at our Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone Branch and support us with GDPR compliance.
Alongside passing on your expertise, this opportunity will give you the chance to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental, alongside fellow trustees, in the running of the Branch and setting out both the short and long term aims.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a committee meeting every other month lasting 2 hours either in person or virtually (can alternate). However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Trustee – Legal and GDPR
- Assist the Branch in ensuring that activities are GDPR compliant and reviewing and updating the Branch processing activities register.

- Support the Branch when liaising with external specialist providers such as HR and health and safety specialists.
- The Branch may occasionally enter into new leases with regards to its charity shops; so liaising with external specialists for advice if it does not fall under your area of expertise.
- To assist the Branch when developing new schemes, such as providing welfare assistance to those low incomes, to ensure any new schemes are GDPR compliant.

Post Objectives:
To raise awareness of Self-Directed Support and support individuals to consider and evaluate available Self-Directed Support Options. The SDS IDEAS project seeks to ensure that:
- People and carers have an increased knowledge and understanding of Self-Directed Support principles and options for social care.
- People and carers feel more informed, listened to and less stressed when making decisions around their own social care choices.
- People and carers are prepared for Social Work SDS Assessments.
- People and carers have increased skills so are better able to manage social care packages.
Key responsibilities
- Raise awareness and grow understanding of Self-Directed Support options with local individuals, organisations, and agencies
- Create and deliver a programme of network meetings and focus groups
- Provide information to enable people to make informed choices
- Work with individuals to assist them to self-advocate, monitor and assess ongoing need
- Maintain contact and activity records and evaluate outcomes
