• Assisting the Front Office Manager by responding 1st level queries and requests (phone, email and in-person)
• Providing tours of the Centre to prospective members
• Interacting with members delivering a superb experience such as
  • Providing practical assistance for those with mobility issues, such as getting participants in and out of coats, opening doors and getting people safely seated, as well as being sensitive to mental health issues of some members.
  • Serving tea and coffee, offered freely at the Centre.
•  Assisting the FOM taking bookings & payments for all Classes, Clubs, activities, services, membership fees, etc. on the online system the Centre uses (training will be provided)
• Promoting membership, classes, clubs, activities, special events and services with respective prices and availability to members and visitors
• Processing applications for membership and volunteers as per the Centre’s process.
• Assisting with drop-in activities which take place weekdays from 9 am to 12 noon when needed 
• Assisting in organising room setup requirements for activities, especially classes, meetings and events
• Assisting in various administrative jobs such as
  • Maintaining the professional appearance of the office at all times
  • Ensuring front office filing systems are maintained and up to date
  • Maintaining all notice boards in the Centre
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Class and clubs registers and the login/out ledger and visitors log for all members, visitors and volunteers.
  • Other administrative tasks as reasonably requested

What you need to have?

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT systems including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Experience of working in a similar role and environment
• Able to demonstrate your ability to provide high quality customer service
• Be an enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable team player.
• Understandings the importance of safeguarding
• Ideally living locally or within easy commute to Centre

The candidate

The Board is currently looking to appoint a Trustee who can support UNA-UK with their Financial and Accounting skills, to support our compliance and best practice procedures. 

Additionally, a Trustee should be able to demonstrate as many of the following as possible:

• An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charity Trustees and company directors
• Integrity and transparency

Duties

Trustees' primary duty is to ensure that the charity operates within its charitable remit and legislation pertaining to charities and companies in the UK and that it is well-managed with sufficient resources to deliver its objectives.

You will be expected to attend 4 yearly board meetings, and to review board papers prior to the meeting and contribute to the development of UNA-UK with your skills and experience.

Cats are at the centre of everything we do and our objectives are: homing, neutering and educating people about cats and their care. We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters.

A bit about this role

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances in Mid-Sussex RH15, RH16, RH17, BN6, BN45.
• Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

Time expectation

Our fundraising events organisers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Bone Cancer Research Trust are currently looking for exceptional individuals to join our board of Trustees. Trustees have overall control of the charity and are responsible for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do. As a trustee, you will use your skills and experience to support BCRT, helping it achieve its aims. 

We are a highly driven and ambitious charity and at the centre of our plans are our patients. They are the driving force of our 2022 – 2032 strategy More Patients Surviving. More Patients Thriving. We are looking for equally driven and motivated individuals to help us achieve our strategic aims.

We are looking to recruit two individuals and are particularly interested in candidates who might have experience in the areas of finance or policy. If you feel you have the experience, knowledge and skills we are looking for, or feel you can add significant value to BCRT’s board in other ways, we would like to hear from you.
