- Having a drill, screwdrivers, screws, nails, raw plugs, basic tools etc
- Measuring space and hanging curtains or installing a curtain rail and curtains
- Hanging pictures / mirrors / hooks / door number
- Changing height of shelving in kitchen cupboards / other cupboards to better suit the individual.
- Putting together flat pack furniture or second-hand furniture that had to be dismantled for delivery

The PPRC is responsible for seeking assurance and advising the Governing Council on matters relating to the University’s people and culture strategy and digital strategy, in addition to financial and other areas of performance.

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Life in a rescue environment is never ideal for any cat compared to a loving home. Our Cat Adoption Team Leaders support cat homing and as part of this they may lead a team of volunteer home visitors who collectively play an important part in matching our feline friends with their new families. What can you expect to be doing?
- Acting as the main point of contact within the branch for cat adoption enquiries via email / telephone and social media

Alongside your understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship, and commitment to voluntary public service you must be willing to uphold Othona’s inclusive Christian ethos; to think strategically and creatively; and lead the trustees forward, contributing your skills to our team.

- Previous Trustee or board experience or similar e.g. school governor

Main purpose of job:
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated volunteer therapist working a minimum of 1 day a week seeing 6 clients or groups.
· Providing mental health and wellbeing support to clients from our NHS/GP, Police, and other referrals including direct referrals sourced by yourself to deliver. You may also contribute to our secondary services and offer further support if needed once discharged from our other non-NHS Taking Therapy services.
· Managing all admin related to seeing clients and ensure trust, privacy and confidentiality for both the clients and the organisation.
· Be responsible for completing required training particularly safeguarding training and ensuring compliance.
· Provide High and Low Intensity support within a Stepped Care Model for adults and/or Children and Young People (if trained/experienced in this area) with common mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders.

6) Assess, plan and implement a treatment plan, evaluation and manage and treat potential withdrawal, detoxification symptoms including emotional, physical and psychological.
7) Signpost clients where they are required to see more specialised services, in emergency situations and for safeguarding purposes, signpost to internal and/or external services based on client need.
8) Provide reports when required for monitoring and statistics and report problems/difficulties/complaints to the line manager and persons responsible.
9) Take required safeguarding training and ensure awareness of safeguarding procedures and important contact lists.
Registrations and Qualifications:
1) BABCP Registered and Accredited
2) Degree/Equivalent in a CBT, CYP, Counselling, PWP NHS Talking Therapies Recognised Qualifications and in particular a requirement to have NHS Talking Therapy experience.
3) At least 2 years of experience post qualification or experience in the field.
4) Demonstrates high standards in oral and written communications.
5) Must have basic IT skills such as using client databases, email, meeting apps and other relevant digital resources.

We are looking for a volunteer to support a well established Parkinson's UK group, monthly meet up in Torquay. Parkinson's UK call this role 'Cafe Coordinator' and this is the role title listed on our website.
The current lead volunteer is in need of some support in order for the group to keep going, otherwise the group is likely to close at the end of this year.
The monthly meet-up is for anyone affected by Parkinson's. Family members, carers and friends are all welcome. Connect with others, pick up some information, enjoy a complimentary cuppa, a chat and a few giggles!
We are looking for a volunteer to facilitate and host the event bi-monthly (or more or less!)
Sometimes there are guest speakers but the group is very informal and is ultimatley a space for people to come together for a cup of tea and biscuits, to gain community and support from other people.
The drop in takes place on 3rd Thursday of month, 1-2 pm. The volunteer would need to arrive at 12.45pm to esure the room is ready and to meet and greet people as they arrive.
Tea and coffee is provided by the venue and people make a donation to the venue for this.

About CARAS:
Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) is a charity that supports refugees and asylum-seekers living in South West London, and helps them to play their full part in the community. In the post-pandemic environment, CARAS is responding to the role of digital literacies in our programme delivery to learners of asylum-seeking and refugee background. In contrast to the UK essential Digital skills framework, we have built in language inclusion to create a participatory learning course for Essential Digital Literacies for learners who are new to reading and writing in English. The individuals joining CARAS are highly diverse, with different countries of origin, linguistic and educational backgrounds. We have observed over the last year that many CARAS community members have limited digital skills, particularly in regard to using computers. Community members have highlighted that computers are important for many individuals to achieve their educational and employment goals, whilst increasing confidence and independence. We have co-designed a digital skills program in partnership with CARAS community members to improve computer literacy and skills, focusing on basic computer literacy.
About the Role:
We are seeking two volunteers based in London to teach our lively computer classes in Tooting every Monday 9:00-11:00. Volunteers will lead the sessions with guidance from the CARAS ESOL Teacher and will work closely with our community members to build their skills and confidence using computers. The Digital Literacies course at CARAS is built around Pre-entry to Entry 2 levels in English. Volunteers will be supporting individuals with tasks such as: getting to know how to use a computer, using the internet, setting up an email address, and using Microsoft office. We intend to fold employability sessions, including CV writing and job searching, into these sessions.
Volunteer Tasks and responsibilities:
· Lead on the delivery of sessions with support from CARAS’s Essential Digital Skills Teacher.
· Assist with the logistical set up of the sessions, supporting CARAS staff where needed.
· Work collaboratively as a team and assisting to shape the project.
· Create class registers and records as required.
· To attend and contribute to volunteer pre- and de-briefs at each session.
· To act as a positive role model and set standards of behaviour when volunteering.
· Support people to develop their knowledge and skills and encourage and inspire participants to reach their full potential.
· To assist participants to both, recognise and celebrate their achievements.
· To challenge negative attitudes and behaviour in an appropriate manor.
· Advocate for the rights of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants with not for them.
· Adhering to CARAS Confidentiality policy, Health & Safety policy, Equal Opportunities policy and all other policies as relevant.
Requirements:
· To be non-judgemental, and able and willing to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
· To be female identifying.
· Have a good understanding of how to use a computer.
· To be reliable and punctual.
· Excellent presentation and communication skills, especially with people with varying levels of English.
· Commitment to support people seeking asylum to take control of their asylum journey.
· Ability to volunteer every Friday for a minimum of three months.
· Current resident in the UK.
· Ability to work in Tooting SW17.
· To provide five years’ worth of addresses and be willing to undergo a DBS check.
· To attend CARAS General and Safeguarding Training sessions.
· To be 18 years or older.

We are looking for Volunteer Retail Assistants to join our Big C Magdalen Street Shop in Norwich to help with promoting and maximise sales by working within our stockroom and/or on our shop floor.
Roles may include:-
- Processing sales transactions through the till
- Stock rotation
- Pricing stock
- Tidying the shop floor and stock room
- Assisting with customer’s enquiries
- Assisting, when necessary, with shop window displays
- Sorting through donated stock and bric-a-brac items for its suitability for sale
- Hanging and steaming garments

Hours/Time Commitment
Opening Hours: 9:30am to 4:30pm. Monday to Saturday. You choose how long and how often you would like to volunteer, whether this is 1 hour a week or 1 day a month. We need volunteers in the afternoons, particularly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.
