Cards for Bravery is a newly registered charity dedicated to brightening the days of hospitalised and seriously ill children and their families. Our main initiative involves delivering handmade, uplifting cards to young patients to brighten their days as well as other resources such as activity packs, bravery packages and more.
As we continue to grow, securing funding is essential to expanding our reach and sustaining our mission.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and passionate Fundraising Volunteer to help raise vital funds to support our initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Why do we need you?
Dr Jeanette Rowley is a consultant on veganism and the law and our Vegan Rights Advocate. Jeanette has been a leader in the promotion of the legal rights of vegans for over a decade and is the founder and chair of The Vegan Society’s International Rights Network. She is now looking for a volunteer to help refresh and update published material relating to the legal protection of vegans. This project will include working on our guide for employers and relevant content on our website.
What does the role involve?
The role involves working collaboratively with our Vegan Rights Advocate to review, assess, evaluate and update the information provided on our website and in some of our resources, such as our guide Supporting Veganism in the Workplace.
At the review and assessment stages, you will read specific advocacy resources to familiarise yourself with the subject matter and content. You will conduct independent research into each specific topic, take notes from relevant authoritative online sources, and assist in evaluating our resources and identifying areas requiring updating and development.
You will contribute to research on equality and inclusion, help to communicate best practice, fact-check information, and assist with redrafting and updating copy.
What training and support are available?
This role will come with an induction session and access to a regular point of contact to support you as a volunteer. You will receive an introduction to the project and tasks. Although the work will be carried out remotely, you will not be required to work totally independently and will work on the tasks collaboratively on a mutually agreed basis.
What knowledge, experience and skills are required for this role?
- General knowledge and understanding of UK Equality Diversity and Inclusion principles and practice
- Experience and skills in conducting research
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Proficient in written English
- Experience of using Word and working on shared documents
- A legal or advocacy-related background would be useful, but is not essential.
What does my availability need to be?
This role is for a fixed period of six months. We ask for volunteers to commit to about four to six hours a week, although this may vary from week to week. The role can be performed outside traditional working hours and in any time zone, although staff support is only available between 9am and 5pm UK time.
Who does this role report to?
Dr Jeanette Rowley will be the main point of contact for the tasks. Kaya Gromocki, our Senior Volunteering and Engagement Officer, will be available for support and for anything related to your volunteering experience.

Laura Chepner is our Education Officer, and she is looking for a volunteer to support her in her role. Laura has a background in education, with a degree in Primary Education which preceded a decade of teaching and a short stint in the role of SENco (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Shortly after that, Laura theorised vegan-inclusive teaching, published An Educator’s Guide for Vegan-Inclusive Teaching and worked as the UK’s first vegan-inclusion education specialist until joining The Vegan Society.
At The Vegan Society, Laura supports vegan learners in education who have been discriminated against by acting as an intermediary between their families and the institution. Additionally, Laura supports educators by creating resources and delivering training sessions on what it means to be vegan-inclusive in their practice. Furthermore, Laura empowers parents/guardians to ask for vegan-inclusion by creating documents, with the help of The Education Network, that they can present and highlight their rights.
What does the role involve?
This role involves working alongside our Education Officer to create around 50 differentiated worksheets for teachers of key stage 1 (KS1), Year 2 to use. No lesson plans to be made – just worksheets that support the National Curriculum English programmes of study for KS1, Year 2 outcomes. Laura would delegate certain literacy areas such as ‘suffixes –ful and –less’. Once complete, we would meet online to look over and then Laura would delegate another area of literacy to be completed.
Below is an example of the type of worksheets that will be created.
‘Today I am learning to use regular plural noun suffixes – s or – es.’
These tasks are not exhaustive, and more assignments may arise as the project progresses.
What training and support is available?
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in Primary Education and be comfortable working independently. However, we are always willing to invite volunteers along to staff training when possible and to deliver training on specific skills in-house, as identified throughout the volunteering period. This role is remote, so support from the Education Officer will be available through email and phone calls as required. Monthly reviews with the Volunteering and Engagement Officer will also be conducted to ensure the volunteer is happy in their role.

Redemption Roasters is on a mission to reduce reoffending through coffee. We recently started a charitable Foundation so that we can deepen our impact and support more prison leavers into employment. We are looking for trustees to help establish and set the strategy for our new charity.
The Redemption Roasters Foundation has been established to reduce reoffending. By creating pathways into employment for prison leavers, the Foundation aims to support programme participants to lead a positive life away from the criminal justice system. The Foundation has been established by the business Redemption Roasters to expand its impact, but is independent.
About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Board of Trustees for the Redemption Roasters Foundation. The role of trustee is an important voluntary position, with successful candidates working closely with the Chair of Trustees to ensure the chairty is well-run, effective, and delivers against its objective of reducing reoffending.
If appointed, you will help determine the strategic direction of the charity. You will use your skills and talents to help the charity establish itself and, in doing so, positively impact the lives of those leaving prison.
There is also an important advocacy role, with trustees acting as ambassadors. You will help to build the profile, network, and reputation of the charity as it grows.
Person Specification
This is a voluntary and unpaid position. Applicants must believe in the mission of the Redemption Roasters Foundation, align with the values of the charity, and be prepared to give the role the time it requires.
Anyone passionate about our work is welcome to apply, but we are particularly eager to speak to individuals with insight into the criminal justice system in the UK (including through lived experience or working in the sector), as well as those with experience scaling organisations.

The Crisis London Volunteer Fundraising Group consists of a small team of volunteers raising awareness and money for Crisis' vital services and work towards ending homelessness. The current focus of the group is preparing for and implementing the Walk to End Homelessness fundraising event, recreating an original walk held in London which led to the formation of Crisis in 1967. By joining the group you'll contribute towards inspiring local people to fundraise for Crisis while honing your skills in event management and logistics.
How will I be ending homelessness?
Joining a group of dedicated, passionate, empowered volunteer fundraisers to help raise the funds needed for our vital services. You will use your communications, events, and teamwork skills to deliver local fundraising events and collections in aid of Crisis.
The monies raised by your Fundraising Group will help fund services such as one to one support in finding a home or a job, helping people achieve learning goals, or supporting our Christmas events where we offer hot meals, access to essential services, and an introduction to our year-round services to leave homelessness behind for good.
You will be inspired by our vision to end homelessness, and in turn will inspire others to act. As well as raising vital funds you will be helping us to influence your community and their beliefs, challenging the stigma around homelessness. We need people who genuinely believe that if society works together, we can end homelessness.

What will I be doing?
- Attend regular Fundraising Group meetings to work collaboratively with the Fundraising Group lead and other members.
- Use your skills and knowledge to play an active role in making fundraising events and activities happen.
- Representing Crisis in your community, using your own networks to raise awareness of what needs to be done to end homelessness. This includes sharing our broader activities such as our campaigns.
- Represent Crisis by attending fundraising and engagement events organised by others.
- Ensure group activities comply with relevant fundraising regulations and Crisis policies and procedures; including ensuring monies raised are accounted for in line with agreed financial processes.

- Understanding of UK education framework(s) and fit with other countries’ qualifications and credit frameworks.

- Experience in analysing regulations and policies

What’s involved?

Role Summary
The Chair of Art History Link-Up will provide strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure the charity fulfills its mission effectively.
