About YAUK
Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organization that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects

Overview
We are looking to appoint a Senior Research Manager who is able to lead all our Initial Research function, this function is fulfilled by usually 4 teams all led by a Research Manager and Senior Researcher. Initial Research Teams follow an Initial Research framework which guides our research led approach. Suggestions for research topics are made at regular intervals and these teams carry that research out over the course of a few months. Care4Calais (C4C) is establishing an Advisory Board to ensure the voices of refugees and people seeking asylum are central to the charity’s mission and activities. The board will provide guidance, insights, and recommendations to the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring C4C’s policies and services are informed by lived experience.
Purpose & Objectives
The Advisory Board will:
● Offer insights and suggestions on C4C’s mission, policies, and services, based on personal skills and experiences.

Composition

Barking Mad Goodies is our online shop to support our rescue work in Romania. Can you help us build it up? Are you a Shopify/eCommerce specialist? Asides from our superb, branded grain free dog food (which we are so proud of!), we are expanding our range of dog treats and sundries as fast as we can. Running the rescue takes all our time and energy which means we so need help with building our shop.
We are looking for volunteer help with someone familiar with Shopify who can help us jazz up our shop, build our customer base through email marketing and social media, help craft google ads and more, thus helping us help more dogs in need. This role may involve three or four hours max to start, but once things are in place, probably one or two.
All profits from the shop go back to our dog rescue.

Role of Trustee
The Trustee board is the principle governing body of CPRE London and is collectively responsible for the leadership and direction of the charity.
As a Trustee your role includes:
- Developing and overseeing implementation of our strategic plan to help us to deliver our vision.
- Offering independence, external perspective, skills and challenge
- Mentoring and supporting the staff and volunteers.
What we are seeking: Although keen to appoint dedicated Trustees offering a breadth of skills who share our aims, the Trustee board have identified key areas where specific knowledge and experience would be welcomed to complement the existing team:
Knowledge, skills and experience of housing policy and/or the planning system and planning law, relevant to ensuring that we encourage and influence planners and developers to maximise use of using housing stock, other buildings and brownfield sites in the creation of genuinely affordable housing, and that development is in line with our vision for London. Additional, useful background knowledge for any of our trustees includes:
- Technical knowledge of ecology / horticulture / forestry
- Experience with an environmental organisation or charity but this is not essential.
To best represent London’s diverse community on our Boards of Trustees and ensure all residents benefit from our green space advocacy, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
Commitment:Estimate 1-2 days per month plus 4 board meetings
The Trustee board meets four times a year at our London office in Farringdon with meetings starting at 18.00 and generally finishing by 20.00. There may be ad hoc commitments in between the board meetings. In the autumn, the Trustees and staff attend a one-day off-site strategy meeting in the Greater London area. Trustees are also encouraged to attend the AGM.
All Trustees usually serve a three-year term of office from election at the annual AGM and are eligible for re-election for up to a further three years.

Key focus

Tafara Wellness Initiative
We are dedicated to empowering women and children in African communities to overcome mental health challenges and cultivate resilience and joy through providing free counselling.
Africa has a serious mental health issue that has to be addressed right away as the continent has the highest suicide rate in the world, estimated at 11.2 per 100,000 people, despite a moderate reduction over the past ten years (far above the global average of 9.0 per 100,000). Part of the mental health emergency is due to the AIDS epidemic, widespread poverty, and a lack of mental health resources and infrastructure. Providing mental health is essential for sustainable development as it enables individuals to pursue education, maintain employment and contribute positively to their communities. For women and children specifically, better mental health can lead to improved family dynamics, increased school attendance, and greater economic participation.
The Tafara Wellness Initiative looks to address the mental health crisis and build more resilient and thriving communities in Africa through:
- Ensuring women and children in Africa have access to timely, appropriate and tailored psychological and mental wellness programs that enable them to thrive.
- Expanding communal support and awareness for mental health and eliminate stigmas around mental health in African communities

By delivering evidence-based therapy and wellness services, we aim to create safe and nurturing environments where individuals and families can thrive. Through research, partnerships, and advocacy, we strive to maximise our impact and bring meaningful change to those who need it most.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a talented and passionate volunteer Copywriter to support our communication and engagement efforts. Your writing will help us connect with diverse audiences, including donors, partners, and the communities we serve. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of storytelling, branding, and persuasive writing.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop compelling content for our website, newsletters, social media, and marketing materials.
-Craft impactful donor communications and fundraising appeals.
-Write case studies, blog posts, and success stories that highlight our work and impact.
-Ensure brand consistency in all written materials.
-Collaborate with the team to refine messaging and enhance audience engagement.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
-Experience in marketing, content creation, or journalism.
