Every year hundreds of people run, abseil, skydive and eat cake, to raise funds to help Rainbows care for babies, children, young people and their families across the East Midlands. Behind them are a team of dedicated Event Volunteers who are vital in ensuring our events run smoothly.
From local concerts and golf days, to daring abseils and firewalks our events are vital in helping to raise not only funds, but awareness of the work Rainbows Hospice does across the East Midlands and they simply wouldn’t be possible without our enthusiastic volunteers helping on the day. Typical tasks the role could involve:

- Get Hands-On: Assist in setting up and taking down equipment and stalls.
- Be a Cheerleader: Join a cheer station and support our runners to the finish line •
- Guiding Star: Assist with marshalling duties, from directing car parking to guiding runners along their routes, ensuring the event runs smoothly and safely.
- Refreshment Hero: Serve refreshments to participants, supporters and staff, keeping everyone energised and ready for action.
- Information Sharer: Actively engage with members of the public and be the go-to person for those seeking information about Rainbows and our important work.
- Entertainment Champion: Run our raffles, tombola’s and other fundraising games engaging participants and members of the public.

In-Deep Community Task Force is a grassroots charity working with isolated older people and children with Special Education Needs (SEND) and their families in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth and surrounding areas.

Volunteers help to keep Age UK charity shops running like clockwork and are an essential part of everything that we do. Our charity shops raise vital funds that support the wide range of services Age UK delivers, so if you have some free time available and would like to help, we’d love to hear from you! What will you be doing?
Volunteer Shop Assistants carry out a wide range of tasks in their roles. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, keeping our shop floor full and organised or supporting with raffle ticket sales and promoting gift aid.
How would you be supported in this role?
When you begin your role, you will receive a mix of e-learning and in-person training to get you started. Throughout the role, you will receive refresher training as required as well as ongoing support, reimbursement for role-related expenses and the opportunity to further shape the volunteering you do.
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
Age UK operates charity shops to raise funds for the delivery of services for older people in need. Volunteers play a key role in the shop team, ensuring our shops are welcoming places in the community and selling the items that are generously donated to our organisation.

As a Weekend Sales Assistant Volunteer you will be at the till during our busiest opening times, serving customers as the friendly face of your shop. Cancer affects us all in different ways. We know it can be difficult. Big C is here, across our county, to support anyone affected by cancer in any way.
We are looking for Volunteer Retail Assistants to join our Big C Magdalen Street Shop in Norwich to help with promoting and maximise sales by working within our stockroom and/or on our shop floor.
Roles may include:-
- Processing sales transactions through the till
- Stock rotation
- Pricing stock
- Tidying the shop floor and stock room
- Assisting with customer’s enquiries
- Assisting, when necessary, with shop window displays
- Sorting through donated stock and bric-a-brac items for its suitability for sale
- Hanging and steaming garments
Location
Big C Shop, 26 Magdalen Street, Norwich, NR3 1HU
Hours/Time Commitment
Opening Hours: 9:30am to 4:30pm. Monday to Saturday. You choose how long and how often you would like to volunteer, whether this is 1 hour a week or 1 day a month. We need volunteers in the afternoons, particularly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.

PDSA is a charity with 48 pet hospitals that supports pets and people in need. All of our charity shops need an amazing team of volunteers to make them a success and we need you now more than ever.
By becoming a charity shop volunteer with PDSA you will:

Charity Shop Volunteers are involved in a wide range of roles and day-to-day activities that support the running of each shop and even a few hours a week will make a difference.
On the shop floor you could be involved with providing excellent customer service, processing transactions on the tills, replenishing stock and putting up eye-catching displays to entice customers in.
Behind the scenes, volunteers get involved with sorting through donations to find those hidden gems and preparing goods for sale by sorting, steaming and pricing
We provide training, so you don’t need experience – and we reimburse travel expenses so you won’t be out of pocket.
We’re looking for people who are 18 years of age or over that enjoy working as part of a team and making a difference.
