Palace for Life Foundation, the official charity of Crystal Palace F.C., is seeking up to 3 new Trustees to help us expand our impact and change even more young lives across south London through the power of sport. Each Trustee will bring their own area of expertise to our Board, complementing our existing strengths and adding significant value to our organisation. We are particularly keen to hear from passionate individuals who have experience and skills in one or more of the following areas:

Trustee Obligations:
- Attend 4 face-to-face Board meetings per year.
- Provide strategic oversight, expertise, and guidance to the charity.

- Take responsibility for matters relating to designated areas of the organisation.
This is a voluntary position and is not remunerated. The deadline for applications is 1st May 2025. The expected time commitment is approximately 1 day per month. The term length is 3 years, with potential to extend up to 9 years.

Why now?

The commitment:
· The Board meets four-five times a year in person.
· Sub-committee meetings are generally held via Zoom and take place 2 – 5 times per year.
· Additional strategy development days may also be planned as we work to plan, deliver and evaluate our next chapter.
· Currently all meetings happen in the mornings, Monday – Friday, although this is subject to change.
· Training is provided and, where appropriate, expenses will be covered. Lunch is commonly provided during longer meetings.

Bounds Green Food Bank has been in existence since 2020, operating as an independent charity since September 2023. Our Board of 5 Trustees seek to recruit additional people to add to our team.

Must be able to obtain a DBS, be able to attend required training and meetings (usually twice per month), and have not been disqualified to stand as a Trustee/Director.

Citizens Advice Service
The Citizens Advice service is made up of national Citizens Advice and a network of around 290 local Citizens Advice members.
The Citizens Advice service is based on four principles:
- Independent - We will always act in the interests of our clients, without influence from outside bodies
- Impartial - We don’t judge our clients or make assumptions about them. Our service is open to everyone and we treat everyone equally.

What does Citizens Advice Cheshire West do?
Citizens Advice Cheshire West provides general and specialist legal help to everyone in the Cheshire West area.
We give advice to help people overcome the problems they face, in areas such as benefits, debt, employment, housing, relationships and immigration.
We use our knowledge about our clients’ problems to identify trends and campaign to improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives.
We have specialist services including money advice, welfare rights, and energy advice, Help to Claim and Pension Wise service.
Our local service has over 100 trained volunteers and paid staff. We deal with over 15,000 clients each year, via face to face interviews, over the telephone and through email & webchat.
Our aim is to provide “impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities”, irrespective of who they are and what background they are from. We encourage all staff and volunteers to welcome diversity, to respect the individuality of each person and value their contributions.
Everyone that uses or needs our service needs to know that we are free, impartial, confidential and independent. We want people to feel comfortable using our service, know that they can get advice when they need it and receive a good service that meets their needs.
What does a trustee have to do?
- Complete an induction.
- Gain and maintain an awareness of how Citizens Advice Cheshire West operates.
- Read papers for Board meetings and attend 7 meetings per year.
- Be willing to work on projects with other trustees and/or paid staff.
- Attend 1 Trustee Development Day per year.
- Take an active discussion during board meetings and work with other trustees to:
- set policy and strategy direction, set targets and evaluate the performance of Citizens Advice Cheshire West;
- Make a positive impact for local people by ensuring Citizens Advice Cheshire West is sustainable and able to meet the needs of the community;
- Build relationships with staff, volunteers and other trustees;
- seek the views of all sections of the community and monitor how well the service meets the needs of the local community;
- ensure that the service plans for the recruitment and turnover of staff and volunteers; and
- review its own work and how effectively it operates including action for improvement.
- monitor the financial position ensuring that it operates within its means and objectives, ensuring that there are clear lines of accountability for day to day financial management;
- ensure that all the finances and supporting financial control systems are in order including that full financial records are kept for all transactions, that money is only spent for the purpose given, and that proper financial controls are in place to safeguard the organisation’s resources;
How much time do you need to give?
- There are at least 5 two-hour Trustee Board meetings per year, usually held between 5pm and 7pm.
- 1 day per year to attend a Trustee Board Development Day.
- Trustees may be asked to attend additional meetings from time to time, including during office hours.

Role Overview
Our Trustee Board plays a significant strategic role alongside the Senior Management Team in helping CHSW meet the needs of the babies, children, young people and families we support, and delivering our vision. Meetings and time commitment
CHSW’s Board generally meets for a whole day face-to-face meeting 4 times a year at a central location (Exeter/Taunton/Tiverton) or one of our 3 hospices. In addition, Assurance Committees generally meet 4 to 6 times a year, usually during the day for a 2 hour meeting via Zoom. There is also an annual full-day Strategy Day and time set aside for Board Development. Board and Committee papers are circulated a week before the meetings to allow for preparation. Where possible we would like all Trustees to be able to attend in person on the full board meeting days, but we understand that this may not always be convenient for every Trustee and consideration will be given to include some remote attendance in the right circumstances. Trustees are appointed for a period of 3 years with the option of re-election to the Board for up to 9 years.

They provide support for refugees and asylum seekers across London and beyond through a holistic model and multifaceted approach, which acknowledges the whole person and all their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Their services including advice and guidance, campaigning, ESOL classes, community classes and groups, counselling, wellbeing services, youth activities and mentoring.
New Citizens’ Gateway (NCG) are actively developing their Board and are now seeking new Trustees, bringing fresh skills and professional backgrounds to help continue their growth. The new trustees will join a collaborative and ambitious team and will be responsible for providing strategic support related to their area of expertise and support overall governance and leadership of the organisation.
NCG wants its Board to reflect the people it serves, so they actively encourage candidates to apply with lived experience of the refugee and/or forced migration journey to rebuilding your life in the U.K.
Key skills and experience are sought, although not limited to, the following areas:
- Finance / wealth management
- Fundraising
- Marketing and communications
- Youth work
- NGO leadership
However, the Board is open to expressions of interest from candidates who do not possess skills in these areas, but that would like to be considered as a Board member.
Board meetings are held four times a year (hybrid) in addition to attending occasional networking, fundraising and ceremonial events and meetings. All reasonable expenses will be covered by the charity. We anticipate a 1-2-hour monthly time commitment.

Fundraising Trustee Role Description:
Overview
Our charitable trust provides grants to charitable organisations to support impactful projects benefitting communities in Westminster. We are seeking an individual with fundraising experience to join the Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide advice on fundraising strategies, opportunities, and best practices to help increase the Trust’s income and grow its impact.
· Identify potential opportunities for donor engagement, partnerships, and alternative income streams.
· Act as an ambassador for the Trust to promote its work.
· Provide feedback on grant applications, supporting fellow trustees in making informed decisions about which bids to fund.
· Attend and actively contribute to 3-4 trustee meetings per year, held mostly in the evening (with the option to attend remotely for some meetings).
Skills and Experience
· Proven expertise in fundraising and donor engagement, ideally within the charitable sector (essential)
· A good understanding of the challenges and opportunities for smaller charities and community-based organisations (desirable)
· Knowledge of Westminster (desirable)

Kyffin Place Community Centre who run The Sutton Centre and Holme Centre is looking for new Volunteer Trustees to join our Board and play a key role in making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
About Kyffin Place Community Centre
Kyffin Place Community Centre (known locally as the Sutton Centre) is a grassroots, community-led charity (no.1179336) based on the outskirts of Holme Wood in Bradford. Our charity's overarching objectives are to support the improvement of the health and wellbeing of our local community and to facilitate the creation of positive community relationships. Over the last 6 years, we have worked very hard to refurbish an unused building and create a welcoming, warm and inclusive community hub in the heart of our neighbourhood where people feel safe and are able to take part in a range of community activities as well as accessing support and advice.
We offer 25 activities each week in our community centre and over 20 activities a week in our two local outreach centres. Our activity timetable, incorporating sessions run both by our charity and by partner organisations provides activities appropriate for people aged 0 to 100. We are open 7 days a week and offer a wide range of services including support for families, older people and the long term unemployed. We work with a range of partners to deliver the activities and utilise local expertise to deliver the adult education sessions, youth work and advice services.

We’re seeking individuals who are passionate about community work, have a commitment to making a difference, and want to help guide the direction of Kyffin Place Community Centre. You don’t need to have previous board experience – we welcome individuals from all backgrounds who bring diverse perspectives, skills, and enthusiasm to the table.
Key Responsibilities of a Trustee
- Attend regular board meetings (approx. 6 per year) and participate in decision-making processes.
- Provide strategic leadership and support to the Centre’s staff and volunteers.
- Help ensure that Kyffin Place Community Centre complies with its legal and financial obligations.
- Promote the Centre's vision and mission within the wider community.
- Support fundraising efforts and help identify new opportunities for growth and sustainability.
