Would you like to make a difference for the National Parks of England and Wales?
Campaign For National Parks new strategy launched last year with three goals: better, equal and more National Parks, and we are explicit that securing reforms to address the inequalities in who visits, lives in and governs National Parks is a central plank of our ongoing and future work programme.
We are looking for two new trustees who share our passion for the work we do and who can help us ensure that National Parks are representative, inclusive and relevant to the nation today.
Trustee opportunities
We welcome candidates who can bring passion and commitment to our vision, with one or both of the following:
- Experience in working with underrepresented communities, championing social justice, and/or working with organisations to progress in action on antiracism, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Commitment to EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) and lived experience or an appreciation of the challenges faced by people who are under-represented in National Parks. For example, young people, those from low income or ethnically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQ+, or who are living with a disability.
- New Board members will be offered a full induction and we do not require previous experience as a board member to apply for Trustee roles.

Bridewell is a mental health charity using gardening and working in nature to support people recovering from serious mental ill health. From a walled garden and vineyard in West Oxfordshire, Bridewell provides the time and space for people to find hope in recovery.
About the Role – Trustee responsibilities
The Board of Trustees has collective responsibilities:
- To agree a clear and focussed strategy for Bridewell;
- To monitor progress against the strategy and agreed plans;
- To make sure Bridewell meets its legal and financial obligations as a registered charity;
- To make sure Bridewell is financially stable and spending its funds in line with its charitable objectives;
- To approve and monitor the implementation of Bridewell’s policies and procedures.

Specific Skills
We are looking for trustees who can strengthen Bridewell’s board of trustees in one or more of these areas:
- Broadening the skills on our Board – knowledge of charity leadership, finance, fundraising, operations, service delivery
- Representing our wider community – applications welcome from people in their early career with no board experience
- Representing our wider community – trustees with experience of mental illness (personal experience or supporting others)
- Succession planning – trustees with the interest and aptitude to be a future Chair or Vice Chair of Trustees

HEALTHPROM TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT
HealthProm works to support vulnerable children, women and families disadvantaged by poor health, disability, social exclusion and forced displacement. We work in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Afghanistan and with migrant communities from those regions in the UK.
Following a strategic review last year we are in the process of building up HealthProm’s activities and addressing the operational challenges of working in the region. We need an effective and active Board to support the work of our staff and partners.
We are planning for the succession of long-standing trustees. We are also aiming to strengthen the Board with new skills and experience. We are looking in particular for trustees with:
- experience in mobilising resources and fundraising
- engagement in countries of the region where HealthProm is involved, particularly Afghanistan.
- experience in sectors and issues in which HealthProm are involved: maternal and child health, social care, fostering, disability, child protection, children’s rights, parent advocacy, palliative care, early childhood intervention, inclusive education

The role
Trustees will join a small and active trustee Board supporting the effective delivery of HealthProm’s current programmes and guiding its future strategy and direction.
Time commitment
Every trustee is expected to prepare for and participate in HealthProm Board meetings in person or by skype (currently four per annum, each lasting three hours and held in London), and may also be asked to serve on one of its sub-committees.
In addition to this formal role we are looking for trustees who are able to dedicate some time to support staff in certain projects, initiatives or areas in which they have specialist skills, knowledge or experience.
HealthProm trustee appointments are unpaid but travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Overall Objective
With other trustees, to be responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of HealthProm, developing the charity’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
· To take part in formulating and regularly reviewing the strategic aims of HealthProm, and evaluating performance against agreed targets
· To ensure that the policy and practices of HealthProm are in keeping with its objectives and its memorandum and articles of association (and any variations thereto) and that these are carried out by management.
· To ensure compliance of HealthProm with statutory and legal requirements
· To ensure that HealthProm functions within the legal and financial requirements of the Charities Commission and Companies House and strives to achieve best practice
· To ensure that the income of HealthProm is spent solely for the purposes as laid out in its objectives
· To act in the best interest of HealthProm at all times
Main duties
· To assist the Chair as an active member of the Trustee Board in exercising its responsibilities and functions
· To participate in meetings of Trustees, whether Board or committee meetings and in other exchanges as needed, ensuring HealthProm’s policies and concerns are reflected in their deliberations
· To be familiar with the operations of HealthProm to ensure that a critical and informed view can be maintained, and participating in appropriate training sessions.
· To contribute specific skills and contacts to support HealthProm.
· To promote HealthProm to as wide an audience of donors and beneficiaries as possible
Person specification
You should be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of the following criteria within your written application. These will be explored with you further at the preliminary interview stage, along with the additional criteria listed below. We are keen to ensure diversity on the Board.
The successful candidates will be able to give evidence of:
1. An understanding of, empathy with, and commitment to HealthProm’s vision, mission, values

South West Advocacy Network (SWAN) want to strengthen their Board of Trustees with up to 4 new Trustee appointments, including a Treasurer. West London Centre for Counselling is a registered charity that has been delivering high quality, free, confidential counselling to the local community in Hammersmith and Fulham for over 30 years. We are currently contracted by the NHS Talking Therapies service in Hammersmith and Fulham to deliver short-term therapeutic interventions of 12-20 weeks to people with mild to moderate mental health conditions. All clients receive an assessment before starting treatment, and we assess over 1,000 clients each year.

We are looking for a new Chair to lead a highly motivated group of trustees to support an inspiring charity for people with autism or a learning disability.
At Talkback we seek to enable everyone with autism or a learning disability to lead the fulfilling lives that they want and to actively contribute to their local community.
Our organisation began 24 years ago to give people with a learning disability a voice that was listened to. In response to the needs of the people we support as well as new legislation and the requirements of local and national government, we have diversified, developed and grown to become a highly successful organisation that delivers a wide range of projects across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
We support people aged 16 and above, helping them to define and achieve their life objectives through services such as education, health & wellbeing and employment support. We provide a social network as well as a range of opportunities to engage in sport, woodwork, art and drama.
We employ around 70 staff along with a dedicated group of volunteers. They are led by a highly experienced CEO and a motivated leadership group. Supporting these professionals is a trustee group with a wide range of experience. Talkback has adapted and survived through challenging times. Government funding has always been limited and continues to be so. This requires us to identify alternative sources of funding and to be imaginative in our approach to delivery.
We are looking for a Chair who is motivated to make a real difference to the lives of people who often face disadvantage and to offer leadership and help shape the strategic direction of Talkback. So, if you are someone who relishes a challenge, then leading the Board of Trustees at Talkback could be just what you are looking for. The role would be within Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, though most Board meetings are remote and would require around 5 hours of your time each month, as well as visits to charity services and events.
Principle roles and responsibilities
As Chair your role is to work closely with the CEO and Leadership team and to ensure that the skills and experience of Board members are used to the best advantage. The Board exists to:

As Chair you will be required to:
• Oversee the Board of Trustees ensuring that it comprises of a diverse range of skills, experience and knowledge
• Chair the Trustee Board meetings and AGM, prepare and plan agendas and ensure agreed actions are implemented.
• Ensure that the opinions of all trustees are heard and respected, and oversee votes where required.

The purpose of the charity is to preserve, manage, research, conserve and display for the benefit of the general public and of the nation at large the historical, archaeological and natural heritage of the site.
As a visitor attraction, the stories it tells extend beyond the manufacture and use of explosives into the development of workers rights, the role of women in industry, the history of structural engineering, design and innovation. It tells the stories through static displays, interactivity, events and educational programmes. The 175 acre site is partly accessible to visitors who can enjoy both the natural and historic environment.
It is an incredibly exciting time to join the Board as we lead on the development of a vision and a means of delivering it through a development plan.
To take the Foundation forward, we are looking for Trustees who bring skills/experience in one or more of the following areas;
- Visitor operations - within heritage, attractions or a consumer facing business, covering visitor management or commercial activities.
- Property Development - experience in developing a “mixed business model” in a heritage or related body, knowledge of the planning system and the property sector would be an advantage
- Marketing and Tourism - experience of marketing and PR for visitor attractions
- Historic buildings conservation - experience of historic building conservation, perhaps as an architect, surveyor or local authority conservation officer

Share Psychotherapy (Share) is recruiting for a Chair to lead our board of trustees.
We are in an exciting phase of development, strengthening our core clinical team, improving administrative and business systems and solidifying our financial position. We want to build upon our position as a centre of excellence in psychotherapy, by significantly increasing engagement of users, and to make an even bigger contribution to improving mental health in Sheffield.
The Chair of the Board will provide leadership as we develop and grow. Using your skills in leadership, communication, integrity and openness, you will work alongside the other trustees on the board to drive the ambitious vision for Share’s future and guide the staff and large volunteer base. The following areas represent the main elements of the role. Key activities that will usually be the responsibility of the Chair are:
· Lead with the Board the strategic and sustainable development the organization
· Chair formal board meetings and the annual AGM
· Ensure that trustees comply with their duties and the charity is well governed and all aspects of financial, corporate and clinical governance are maintained
· Act as a spokesperson and advocate for the charity
· Be a proactive communicator and embrace a participatory leadership style
· Line manage and provide support to senior staff
The Board holds quarterly formal meetings (usually online), intervening monthly informal sessions and provides general oversight of the work of Share. The commitment as Chair is approximately 3-4 days per month.
We currently have a co-chair job share arrangement which has worked well for the organisation and the individuals holding the post. The board would be open to another co-chair arrangement and there is the opportunity to job share with one of our existing chairs, either as a permanent arrangement or for an introductory period.

This leadership is vital and at the McPin Foundation we ensure the trustee group is a visible and active part of the organisation.
