Artemis was founded in 2007 and has been delivering high-quality performing arts education in Bracknell ever since. 
The charity is now operating at scale and is on track to achieve a turnover of £1 million in 2026, delivering theatre, dance and cheer provision alongside education and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and adults. We work with around 600 people a week through classes, workshops and outreach.

This all means our Board of trustees is growing!

This role is for a volunteer with extensive experience in finance, with expertise in either (or more than one area) including education, the arts and charity. The role will guide other trustees with the interpretation of accounts as presented by the Exectutive team, explain and explore tax implications (specifically but not limited to Theatre Tax Relief, charitable tax variences, gift aid, and support and advise on any savings that could be being made). The role will not set budgets or be operational. 

Committee meetings are four times a year (usually online) quarterly, plus an AGM (in person) in late July. In addition, the Finance Trustee will lead a sub committee with other trustees to discuss in more detial financial matters so the quarterly meetings can run to time without a deep dive on financial (or other matters), instead presenting a digest of recent activity in an accessible way for others who are not fiscally minded.

The Finance Trustee may also mentor a new trustee as part of the finance committee with an interest in growing their own financial career experience, but who is not yet at the stage to lead in this area for the board.
