Exeter Food Action (EFA) is seeking to appoint one or more trustees with particular experience in fundraising, marketing or comms.

EFA is an Exeter-based charity  dedicated to tackling food waste and food insecurity. We ‘rescue’ surplus food from supermarkets, producers and other sources, redistributing it to over 60 food banks and community groups in Exeter and across Devon. These organisations, in turn, support thousands of individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

It’s a shocking fact that, globally, some 1.3 billion tonnes of food are wasted each year.  In the UK alone, up to 40% of food produced never gets eaten.

By preventing surplus food from going to waste, we aim to reduce environmental harm while making a meaningful difference to the lives of people living with food insecurity. The volume of food we rescue increases year on year and has increased fivefold since we became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2017.

In 2023, in partnership with FareShare (South West), we distributed just over 118 tonnes of food to 64 food banks and community groups, (equivalent to the weight of 3 Boeing 737-800 planes), supporting thousands of people every week. We anticipate that our 2024 figures will be the same, if not higher.

As a Trustee, you will:

· Help shape the strategic direction of our organisation,

· Ensure our resources are managed effectively and ethically,

· Attend quarterly Board meetings and other occasional events,

· Act as an ambassador for our mission within your community.

· Take a lead on a specific area where you will be supported by the wider trustee and staff and volunteer teams.

Fundraising Volunteer

Potential time commitment per week: 4-6 hours

Rethink Mental Illness (RMI) is one of the UK’s leading mental health charities providing on the ground support and signposting to over 100,000 people each year. In England 1 in 4 of us will suffer some form of mental health issue in our lifetimes the services RMI provide are vital in ensuring people suffering from mental health can live their best lives.

Our Fundraisers raise much needed funds through as variety of activities and events throughout the UK. This could be a charity ball, bake sale or a carol concert. You will supported in your role by your local the head of regional community fundraising. 

We are looking for volunteers who have:

• Good  interpersonal and listening skills
• Good organisational and networking  skills
• Passionate interest in raising funds for Rethink Mental Illness
• Moderate IT skills
• Have previous fundraising experience (not essential )

General tasks include:

• Meet with regional teams and other volunteers  to discuss ideas/developments and fundraising opportunities.

The Night Stars is a volunteer night-safety initiative run by Westminster City Council. The program aims to provide a welcoming place for all and collaborate to ensure that Westminster’s nightlife remains a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for residents and visitors alike. Volunteers are there to help anyone who finds themselves in a vulnerable situation, whether they need water, someone to talk to, or a safe place to sober up.  It is delivered across the West End, and focuses on areas such as Soho, Piccadilly, Leicester Square, and Embankment, and operates on Fridays from 19:00 pm to 04.00am. 

This is great opportunity for students to gain volunteer experience and key skills necessary for future success. We have many volunteers, and it is a wonderful way for them to make friends and new connections, as well as learn more about London's night-time economy.

The role is highly flexible, but your aim will be to:

• Act as an ambassador for the night-time economy and interact with visitors and local businesses to create a safe and enjoyable experience.

Palace for Life Foundation, the official charity of Crystal Palace F.C., is seeking up to 3 new Trustees to help us expand our impact and change even more young lives across south London through the power of sport. Each Trustee will bring their own area of expertise to our Board, complementing our existing strengths and adding significant value to our organisation. Join SheCanDo as a Donor & Sponsorship Relations Officer and help us grow our network of donors and corporate sponsors. Your work will directly support our programs that empower young girls to lead and innovate. Role Description: As the Donor & Sponsorship Relations Officer, you will: Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate donors and sponsors. Create, customize, and send out sponsorship packages and partnership proposals. Follow up with donors and sponsors and keep them engaged through updates. Celebrate and acknowledge donor contributions through reports, shout-outs, and impact stories. Qualifications & Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Experience in corporate sponsorships, fundraising, or donor relations is a plus. Enthusiastic and professional demeanor. Weekly Commitment: 4–6 hours per week (flexible schedule, remote role)
