Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead efforts to diversify and secure funding sources, including corporate partnerships, grants, and philanthropic support, to sustain and expand ADC's programs and operations

British Red Cross work experience placements include a combination of office administration and work on discrete, short-term projects, depending on the person’s areas of interest and skill. Work experience typically takes place on a full-time basis for one or two weeks.
Work experience placements give an opportunity to gain experience within different departments and an insight into the work of the British Red Cross.
The British Red Cross is offering a Virtual Careers Taster week which will give you an insight into the world of work with one of the world’s biggest humanitarian organisation in the charity sector. The week will include various workshops and the opportunity to meet other staff members at the British Red Cross.
The sessions will be online via Zoom. Placement volunteers will need to have access to Zoom for the full week.
The placement will run from 28 October to 1 November 2024 from 10am to 1pm each day.
The scheme is predominantly open to young people aged 18- 25 year olds and there are 15 places available.
The week will cover the following:
- Induction to the British Red Cross: You will learn about the history of the movement, our work and fundamental principles as well as gaining First Aid skills
- Career Development Workshop: In this workshop you will learn about career opportunities, be able to develop your CV and application writing skills as well as learn interview skills.
- Digital Media: You will learn about how to keep yourself safe online and what different annotations me in the social media world.
- International Humanitarian Law: You will learn about humanitarian law and what it means in today’s society

We are recruiting 7 volunteer board members to join our newly created STEP EbE Advisory Board. All board members will have lived experience of forced migration. The STEP EbE Advisory Board will be a structured and collaborative way for World Jewish Relief to engage with external advisors (in this case, volunteer board members) to advise and help on programme design and decision-making.
World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people with experience of forced migration through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.
The board members’ responsibilities will vary depending on the topic of advice in discussion, however, suggested activities include:
- Board member meetings to discuss ideas and create recommendations
- Group and 1:2:1s meetings with STEP stakeholders (employment advisors, participants, WJR board, partners)
- Document reviews (e.g. programme materials)
- Presenting recommendations in different formats (e.g writing, speaking)
- Attending optional training sessions chosen by the board
About you
We are looking for board members who:
- Have lived experience of forced migration i.e. refugee status, humanitarian protection, people seeking asylum, and Ukrainian extension scheme
- Have intermediate and above understanding of English (B1+)
- Can commit to 4-6 hours a month
- Comfortable with IT, training can be provided
- Have or interested in developing the following skills:
- Empathy & emotional awareness
- Learning mindset
- Able to work well in collaborative settings
- Good communication skills
- Being open-minded and honest
- Board members can have experience of being on STEP as a participant, but it is not a requirement. We aim for there to be a mix of experience with STEP on the board.

PFP is a UK-based charity working in Africa and Asia since 2004, and this year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our Mission is to work together with local people and filmmakers to produce, distribute and show local language educational films that give help and hope to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Voluntary Discipleship Ambassadors (part time)
ETS is a small but growing UK based Christian charity, which is looking to expand its discipleship and evangelism training throughout the UK and the English-speaking nations.
We are looking for a people of faith who can identify with our aims; a mature Christian who is comfortable in networking with Church leaders. Although this is a voluntary position, we anticipate that this role may be salaried at some point in the future.
In our present phase, we require Ambassadors in all regions of the UK. As an ETS Ambassador, you will be our first contact to many pastors and leaders in both the UK and to other English-speaking nations. Therefore, your main role is to open doors and to reflect our passion and ability to make disciples of all nations, through our unique one-day training and manuals. Once the door of opportunity has been opened, we can take over and explain in more detail.
As our ETS Ambassador, your role will involve reaching out to churches to promote our discipleship and evangelism training. This will be by targeted emails, letters, and phone calls, which will be backed up and supported by our Admin and Fundraising Officers.
ETS is based in Peterborough, and we expect any applicant to work from home/remote (hybrid) along with attending meetings over zoom. We will only interview applicants who are UK based. There may be occasional team meetings at Allia Business Centre, Peterborough, but traveling costs will be reimbursed, along with phone calls and other approved expenses.
Salary: This is a voluntary role and you are expected to pay your own taxes (if applicable)

We now have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer Social & Content Manager to join ADC.
Main purpose of job: Develop and implement our social media & content strategy in order to increase our online presence and drive engagement

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a content calendar across all social platforms ensuring a constant supply of relevant content (1 post per week on LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram – initially)
- Collate content for, prepare and publish the monthly volunteer newsletter through MailChimp
- Identify and engage with key social influencers to create beneficial relationships and strong networks and grow the ADC brand
- Perform social listening across all social platforms by monitoring and responding to relevant brand mentions and identifying opportunities for engaging in related topics/discussions
- Define social media KPIs, measure and optimize social media performance metrics, and develop enhanced reporting
- Develop and implement E2E fundraising campaigns
- Manage and oversee social media content
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in social and content management
- Experience using MailChimp or similar software
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms
- Experience of forming relationships with key influencers on social media
- Good understanding of SEO metrics and social media KPIs
- Ability to come up with creative content (text, image and video)
- Available to volunteer at least 7 hours a week
- Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment
- Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment
- A committed team player with good communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience of establishing online communities on social media
- Experience working in an early stage start-up and gone through a scaling phase
- Passion for the start-up life and comfortable in a role with a little ambiguity
- Graphic design ability
