PFP is a UK-based charity working in Africa and Asia since 2004, and this year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary. Primary responsibilities
- Attend and contribute to quarterly Board meetings and work with the Directors and Trustees in advancing PFP’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Develop and deliver PFP’s fundraising strategy. This includes the drafting of grant applications, developing relationships with large corporates and key donors, and supporting our team and supporters with fundraising activities.

British Red Cross work experience placements include a combination of office administration and work on discrete, short-term projects, depending on the person’s areas of interest and skill. Work experience typically takes place on a full-time basis for one or two weeks.

The British Red Cross is offering a Virtual Careers Taster week which will give you an insight into the world of work with one of the world’s biggest humanitarian organisation in the charity sector. The sessions will be online via Zoom. Placement volunteers will need to have access to Zoom for the full week.
The placement will run from 28 October to 1 November 2024 from 10am to 1pm each day.

We are recruiting 7 volunteer board members to join our newly created STEP EbE Advisory Board. All board members will have lived experience of forced migration. The STEP EbE Advisory Board will be a structured and collaborative way for World Jewish Relief to engage with external advisors (in this case, volunteer board members) to advise and help on programme design and decision-making.
World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people with experience of forced migration through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.
The board members’ responsibilities will vary depending on the topic of advice in discussion, however, suggested activities include:
- Board member meetings to discuss ideas and create recommendations
- Group and 1:2:1s meetings with STEP stakeholders (employment advisors, participants, WJR board, partners)
- Document reviews (e.g. programme materials)
- Presenting recommendations in different formats (e.g writing, speaking)
- Attending optional training sessions chosen by the board
About you
We are looking for board members who:
- Have lived experience of forced migration i.e. refugee status, humanitarian protection, people seeking asylum, and Ukrainian extension scheme
- Have intermediate and above understanding of English (B1+)
- Can commit to 4-6 hours a month
- Comfortable with IT, training can be provided
- Have or interested in developing the following skills:

Voluntary Discipleship Ambassadors (part time)
ETS is a small but growing UK based Christian charity, which is looking to expand its discipleship and evangelism training throughout the UK and the English-speaking nations.
We are looking for a people of faith who can identify with our aims; a mature Christian who is comfortable in networking with Church leaders. Although this is a voluntary position, we anticipate that this role may be salaried at some point in the future.
In our present phase, we require Ambassadors in all regions of the UK. As an ETS Ambassador, you will be our first contact to many pastors and leaders in both the UK and to other English-speaking nations. Therefore, your main role is to open doors and to reflect our passion and ability to make disciples of all nations, through our unique one-day training and manuals. As our ETS Ambassador, your role will involve reaching out to churches to promote our discipleship and evangelism training. This will be by targeted emails, letters, and phone calls, which will be backed up and supported by our Admin and Fundraising Officers.
ETS is based in Peterborough, and we expect any applicant to work from home/remote (hybrid) along with attending meetings over zoom. We will only interview applicants who are UK based. There may be occasional team meetings at Allia Business Centre, Peterborough, but traveling costs will be reimbursed, along with phone calls and other approved expenses.
Salary: This is a voluntary role and you are expected to pay your own taxes (if applicable)
Hours of work: This is a part-time role and we will negotiate the hours per month, but these can be carried out at different times during the week.
We would require a commitment of three months, with the possibility of extension.

This is an important time for FHALMA, as we embark on digitisation of our records and develop a more coherent online and offline presence and thereby a more accessible and impactful archive. To achieve this goal, we will need to work on outreach and partnership development, and secure the funding which will be crucial to both our immediate and long term success.

- Previous (charity) governance experience – you may already have experience as a Trustee/Board member for a charitable organisation or perhaps you have worked in a regulated industry where good governance is key. Either way, you will have first-hand experience of contributing to good governance, and be willing to actively engage in collective responsibility for the good stewardship of FHALMA.
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to network effectively, and a willingness to deploy these skills in service of partnership/fundraising efforts for FHALMA
- Collaborative, participative and collegial style of working
- A track record of bringing energy and commitment to driving strategy forward
- Strategic vision and ability to think creatively
- Good independent judgement to make decisions for the benefit of the organisation
- The necessary time to be an effective trustee

This is an exciting time to join the Friends of the Huntley Archives at the LMA Foundation (FHALMA) as a Trustee, as we embark on a period of strategic transformation to turn the Huntley Archives into a national digital asset.
The Digital Transformation Trustee will:
- Advise on the development of a digital strategy and implementation plan, to support and future proof our organisational needs
- Suggest ideas to help drive the digitisation of physical archives to promote remote access and impactful storytelling
- Be a commercial thinker who is able to share experiences or offer suggestions on ways to offer educational resources from the archives, particularly in ways that have the potential to generate income.
- Be a pragmatic individual who can offer ideas for practical solutions within our scope/scale
- Be well-networked and able to help us to seek extra pro-bono support (e.g. from corporates or consultancies)
To be successful in this role you will bring senior professional experience in the following areas:
- Previous/current experience in IT leadership
- Knowledge of IT systems and data compliance
- Knowledge/experience of digitisation projects

We now have an exciting opportunity for a remote-based volunteer Events Manager to join ADC.
Main Purpose of Job: Work with the Social Impact and wider Marketing team to develop and deliver a structured programme of events throughout the year with the objective to raise awareness about ADC's work to empower communities

Position Reports to: Head of Marketing & Communications
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set out how the individual events and programme as a whole will contribute to the empowerment of communities and work with the social impact team to set KPIs / tangible outcomes
- Responsible for the organisation and facilitation of events hosted by ADC that deliver on the organisational objectives and mirror ADC value
- Work with the wider marketing team to promote and advertise the events to the target audience, driving attendance and engagement
- Find and secure guest speakers who are subject matter experts in topics such as; WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), civic advocacy and engagement, and the development and delivery of essential physical infrastructure, and work with them to deliver events and content that align with ADC’s objectives
- Solicit feedback from event attendees post-event and iterate future events format and content accordingly
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Expertise
Essential
- Experience in events coordination and management
- A knowledge and understanding of international development
- Exceptional networking skills
- Experience of setting KPI’s or monitoring and evaluation
- Available to volunteer at least 7-10 hours a week
- Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment
- Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment
- A committed team player with good communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working with or in countries in East Africa
- Experience working in an early stage star-tup and gone through a scaling phase
- Passion for the start-up life and comfortable in a role with a little ambiguity
