Chief Operating Officer (COO):
We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer, who can join our new charity start-up and help us build a solid foundation and help to build a strategy and plan to get Unlock YOUR Potential set-up and running, providing our key services to those who need it.
As COO you will be responsible for the daily operations and long-term strategy of Unlock YOUR Potential. You will be responsible for;
- Operational Management: You will oversee the charity's day-to-day operations, ensuring that activities run smoothly and efficiently.

The decision to flee where you are living and come to refuge is a complex and difficult one for women and their children. It can be a time of increased risk and Solace wants to support women to make this move as quickly and safely as possible. Volunteers are essential in helping us take calls from women seeking refuge, take referrals and match them up to spaces in our refuges in London. Where possible, giving the woman choice over available spaces and helping everything happen as smoothly as possible.
About the Role
In this role, you will speak to women at a critical time in their journey to recovery. The work is fast paced and sometimes complex. This is an ideal role for those who have strong organisational skills, resilience, a non-judgmental attitude and can juggle several admin tasks at any one time. The reward is knowing that you have significantly helped women and her children reach a place of safety and begin her recovery.
Activities in this role will include:
- Taking initial enquiries from women seeking our services and respond effectively in an empathic and empowering way providing in-formation about the service, to enable women to make informed decisions
- Providing emotional support and offer routes of support to those women whose first language is from either of the communities below:
Turkish , Arabic, South Asian Communities including: Hindi, Gujarati, Oromo, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali African Including the following; Swahili, Yoruba, Somali and Twi
- Providing some basic risk assessment, safety planning and signposting where it is not possible for us to accept a referral and signpost to other services .
- Effective partnership working with professionals to advocate support
- Ensuring the service is inclusive to meets the needs of all women, including language, culture, disability, sexuality, literacy, and mental health.
- Ensuring that we record and capture data that is relevant to the individuals needs and which can be used for equality monitoring purposes.
- Providing women who are already in refuge accommodation with some advocacy in their own language.

Get Out There groups are a growing division of Sense that cater for children between 6 and 16 with complex needs. We provide a 4 hour social setting which caters for children and families who need respite. We offer activities such as games, puzzles, arts and crafts, experiments, cookery and sensory play. We aim to tailor sessions to the needs, interests and abilities of the children we support and put pupil voice at the center of all we do.
As a volunteer you'll make sure that everyone has a great time and can make the most of the activities on offer. You'll need lots of energy, a warm and welcoming personality and to be happy getting stuck in to a wide range of tasks and activities, all of which make sure that everyone has the best day they can together.
What your role will involve
- Taking part in activities alongside disabled young people. You could be joining creative activities, movement or sports session, trips out in to the local community or seasonal themed activities.
- Helping to set up the activities at the start of the day, clear away at the end and keep activities safe, clean and running smoothly throughout.
- Helping to welcome young people to the group, find their way around and between activities, enjoy breaks and lunchtime and generally have a great day with the team and Sense.

We are looking for someone with experience in a charity finance, treasurer or finance director role.
Principal Tasks:

Support the Nova Family Programme tutors in facilitating online home school sessions.
Role Description:
This role will be to act as a teaching assistant to tutors delivering online English, maths and science classes (for young people at Key Stage 2 and 3). With the disruption of Covid-19, many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. Our volunteers have spent thousands of hours with their buddies — learning new skills, having fun, and forming fantastic friendships. Sense matches each volunteer with someone who has similar interests, to make sure you have a great time. You and your buddy choose a time that suits you, and you can decide what activities you’d like to do together.
The Role of a Virtual Buddy
Sense matches each volunteer with someone who has similar interests to ensure you’ll have lots of fun together. Once matched with a buddy, you will get to know each other remotely via video calls and phone calls.
You’ll arrange weekly sessions and plan fun things to do together – what this looks like will be inspired by your mutual interests. You could be gaming, doing arts and crafts, playing music, seed planting – there are so many possibilities! We will provide you with weekly themed activities to help to support you in planning your interactions with your buddy.
We’ll also keep in touch with you to ensure you have all the support you need.
The programme is open to all volunteers who are 16 and over. You don't need to have previous experience volunteering or caring for disabled people. We welcome people from all backgrounds and with all interests.

What we can Offer You
Before you start your volunteering role, we’ll make sure that you’ve had the training you need to feel confident. This will be delivered online and via video call.
While you’re volunteering with us as a Virtual Buddy, you’ll get:

Who we are Looking For
We need positive, empathetic volunteers who are passionate about supporting people with complex disabilities to communicate and experience the world. We are looking for volunteers who are great communicators and who are friendly, enthusiastic, positive and ready to have fun!
We’re also always looking for volunteers who have knowledge or experience of British Sign Language (BSL) and/or other communication methods like Makaton.

About Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN)
Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) is recognised for its work to reduce undernutrition globally. We enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning, connecting key actors and building evidence. We are passionate about being network-driven, independent and evidence-based.
Our vision is that every individual caught up in a nutritional emergency, or suffering from malnutrition anywhere in the world, gets the most effective help possible. We undertake knowledge management, research, and advocacy to support national governments, civil society, UN agencies, donors and academic organisations, and communities of practitioners. What we do
ENN’s work includes our “Field Exchange” publication that provides up to date information from research, programme learnings, and news from the sector, generated by practitioners, and distributed to our large network of researchers, practitioners and policy makers globally. We have projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Maternal and Adolescent Nutrition and support for Small and Nutritionally at-risk Infants under six months & their mothers and also manage a peer-to-peer forum offering timely answers to the questions challenging those on the front line of providing services to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world. ENN does not directly implement programmes but works to improve the effectiveness of all nutrition practitioners by helping to shape policy and practice at global and national levels.
Our Funding
ENN receives funding from governments, UN agencies, private foundations through grants and agreements, as well as contributions from partners.
This Role
The Emergency Nutrition Network needs to expand its funding base. To do this we would like to open funding potential from the private and corporate sectors, new foundations and other funders that may have an interest in working to improve nutrition for people in emergency and high malnutrition contexts.
The work will involve identifying potential funding sources, developing relationships and helping to finesse opportunities that can match ENN with potential funders. This will be closely supported by the CEO and technical team.
The position will report to the Technical Director (Operations & Platforms)
About You
We are looking for someone who would enjoy the challenge of working with a charity to raise funds to provide support for projects and practitioners working in difficult and resource poor situations to treat and prevent malnutrition.
If you have experience in the private or corporate sector, and skills that you believe could enable you to fundraise, we would love to hear from you.
Terms and Conditions
Hours of work: fully flexible/negotiable
Location: Oxford area ideally, but the work does not need to be office based, so other locations should be workable.
Remuneration: This is a voluntary or pro bono position, however, reasonable expenses can be reimbursed for travel and subsistence in line with ENN’s policies.

Windsor Horse Rangers, based in Fifield, Berkshire is looking for a new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees. Our charity aims to empower young people through horsemanship. The trustees, staff and volunteers are focused on providing a sustainable, inclusive and educative environment for 8–18 year olds to develop skills to ride and care for horses.
We have 180 Horse Rangers attending weekly to learn horsemanship working with our 25 horses. We offer equine education in a safe and supportive environment that engages and empowers and which develops wider life skills, emotional resilience and positive wellbeing. Many of our rangers have gone on to careers in equestrianism.
Our committed team of trustees are looking for a volunteer chair to lead and support the team, help with decision-making to deliver our mission, challenge us and bring fresh thinking to the role.
