Would you like to have fun in your local area and get reimbursed for your time? We are always looking for caring and compassionate people to take out a local child or young person for fun activities.

Right now we are looking for applicants in the South Wales area for a fabulous young person who enjoys marvel, climbing, cinema, food and chats. They would prefer a male, but we have other young people who would fit well with a female volunteer.

Activities can include things like: playing football in the park, trampolining, cinema, food, swimming, climbing, play centres, beach, cycling, board game cafes, escape rooms, circus, shows, concerts, go karting etc.

We reimburse reasonable expenses, including travel, for you and your young person up to around £40 a month.

Preferred experience:
- Driving and use of a car due to sometimes rural locations. (We are unlikely to be able to find you a suitable match if you do not drive.)
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Basic IT skills for completing reports and submitting receipts via an easy to use App.

Bolton Lads and Girls Club is now one of the largest youth clubs in the UK and at our out-of-this-world new home Infinity, we have something for everyone including sports, arts, mentoring and community outreach work as well as some extras for those who need it most.

Our independent visitor (IV) service provides community-based volunteers to support children and young people who live in the Bolton area to access local events and activities and to build on interpersonal skills. But in reality, our mission doesn’t stop in Bolton, because many of our young people equally don’t ‘stop’ in Bolton.

All local authorities have a statutory duty to provide an Independent Visitors service in accordance with The Children's Act 1989 (schedule 2, paragraph 17) and the Children and Young Persons Act (2008). We are looking for volunteers (over the age of 21) to befriend a child or young person in care or leaving care. In order to provide opportunities for them to develop a meaningful. long-term relationship.

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

VoiceAbility’s professional advocates provide independent support for people under the Mental Health Act. Hospital volunteers can help people get access to advocates, and can also support the work that advocates do.

As a hospital volunteer, you might:

• hold drop-ins
• attend events and ward meetings at local facilities
• share information
• refer people to an advocate, by completing a form online or calling our helpline

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteers

Some people live in a care home because other people have decided that’s the best and safest place for them.  They’re entitled to have support from an RPR, who is there to make sure they get the best care possible.  Some people have family members as their RPR, the RPR might be a person from VoiceAbility.  An RPR Support Volunteer supports the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:

· Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support

· Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes

· Raise concerns

· Keep detailed notes and records

· Make a real difference to someone’s life

Service Team Volunteer

VoiceAbility’s service team volunteer role is a varied role that provides support to advocacy service teams in a number of ways.

As a service team volunteer in England, you might:

• support the local advocacy team as needed
• drop off promotional materials at various locations
• attend events or assist in organising small local events
• support staff with presentations
• accompany advocacy staff on visits
• support staff with group advocacy and self-advocacy workshops
• submit regular reporting forms

Volunteering opportunities are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK.

SOS!SEN is an independent UK charity dedicated to helping families secure the right educational support for children and young people with SEND. Our team of over 70 volunteers with firsthand experience provides legally-based advice and practical guidance to confidently navigate the SEND system. We support parents, carers, and young people through every phase of their journey. With a 95% success rate at Tribunal and 1,400 helpline calls answered yearly, we empower all children to reach their full potential through the provisions they deserve. Key Responsibilities:

• Advise families on navigating the SEND system using the law as the underpinning guidance.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of SEND law and how to apply it.
• Process and manage large quantities of information efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:

• Hospital Visitor Volunteer
• Relevant Persons' Representative (RPR) Support Volunteer
• Service Team Volunteer

Hospital Visitor Volunteer

VoiceAbility’s professional advocates provide independent support for people under the Mental Health Act. Hospital volunteers can help people get access to advocates, and can also support the work that advocates do.

As a hospital volunteer, you might:

• hold drop-ins
• attend events and ward meetings at local facilities
• share information
• refer people to an advocate, by completing a form online or calling our helpline

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteers

Some people live in a care home because other people have decided that’s the best and safest place for them.  They’re entitled to have support from an RPR, who is there to make sure they get the best care possible.  Some people have family members as their RPR, the RPR might be a person from VoiceAbility.  An RPR Support Volunteer supports the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.

As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:

· Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support

· Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes

· Raise concerns

· Keep detailed notes and records

· Make a real difference to someone’s life

Service Team Volunteer

VoiceAbility’s service team volunteer role is a varied role that provides support to advocacy service teams in a number of ways.

As a service team volunteer in England, you might:

• support the local advocacy team as needed
• drop off promotional materials at various locations
• attend events or assist in organising small local events
• support staff with presentations
• accompany advocacy staff on visits
• support staff with group advocacy and self-advocacy workshops
• submit regular reporting forms

Volunteering opportunities are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.  You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK.

Safeguarding Commitment Statement

VoiceAbility are committed to safeguarding all clients who access our services. All Volunteers will be required to undertake a DBS check at the appropriate level and provide contact details for a minimum of two referees in line with our safer recruitment practice.
