We are seeking someone who can represent the different Cheshire West communities and has the energy and enthusiasm to help us achieve our goal of improving people's lives. Age, background, origins or health conditions are no barriers for joining our team of trustees as we are actively looking to include a variety of different perspectives on our board to best serve our community.
Prior experience as a charity treasurer is not necessary but we are looking for someone who has financial qualifications or experience and has some knowledge or experience of charity finances, fundraising, financial consequences and pension schemes.
You will need to be available to attend at least 5 board meetings a year (in person and remote), often in the evenings, plus one trustee development day each year and there are many opportunities for further involvement. The post of treasurer is a voluntary one but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed. Volunteering should not affect state benefit entitlement.

Tanzania Development Trust - Recruitment of Two New Trustees
Tanzania Development Trust
Tanzania Development Trust (TDT) has been helping to lift people out of poverty in rural areas in Tanzania for almost 50 years. The demand for our services continues to grow, so we need additional Trustees who can help us expand and strengthen our own delivery capacity.
TDT sponsors 40-50 small rural development projects p.a., mainly in the areas of clean water, girls' education and small income generating activities. It also has longer-term partnerships with four flagship projects: a school for teenage mothers; community development through the training in sustainable agriculture and the provision of clean water; vocational training for profoundly deaf adolescents; and integrated infrastructure development in a remote village.
Its primary function is fundraising, although it provides general project management and business advice where appropriate. Around half of its income comes from individual donors, and half from Trusts & Foundations. It helps villagers in Tanzania who lack the capacity and language skills to present their projects to international donors, conducting project appraisals and monitoring project outcomes on their behalf. The projects are implemented by the villagers themselves, or by small local contractors.
TDT is run entirely by volunteers (17 regular volunteers in the UK and 16 local representatives in Tanzania). It has no paid staff, premises or overheads, so 100% of all money raised goes directly to projects in Tanzania.
The demand is enormous so we are looking for additional Trustees who can help us to grow by identifying potential donors, increasing awareness of our activities, and strengthening our project selection and monitoring procedures.
The work we do is immensely rewarding. You would be joining an organisation that is growing and adapting to meet the needs of a changing world, where helping poor people to help themselves is of great importance.
Job description
We are looking for additional Trustees who can help us to grow by identifying potential donors, increasing awareness of our activities, and strengthening our project selection and monitoring procedures.
We would like at least one of the new Trustees to help us with fund-raising by piloting more innovative and creative approaches. Experience of living or working in Tanzania is not essential, but to improve the Board’s racial diversity we would like at least one of the new Trustees to be of Tanzanian origin or have strong connections with East Africa.
The Trustees will be expected to provide direction and guidance to our volunteers in fund-raising, project appraisal and monitoring & evaluation work, and come up with new ideas about how to help our beneficiaries more effectively.
They must be willing to use their contacts and networking skills to increase awareness of our work, generate additional income and build strong partnerships with other organisations working in the same areas.
They will be conscious of changing opportunities for the rural poor in the mobile phone era, and able to think constructively about how we can use our projects to build capacity amongst our beneficiaries.
We would also welcome objective analysis of how to improve our own operations.
The position will involve around 20-40 hours of unpaid work p.a., mainly preparing for and attending Board meetings, and undertaking any necessary follow-up work. Our Board meetings, and the vast majority of our other meetings, are held on-line. Trustees wanting to add any additional functions to their work as Trustees will welcome to do so.

As the vegan community grows, veganism itself becomes better understood. We're finding that more people are looking to The Vegan Society to find out what being vegan is really all about.
Local communities are starting to see the vegan movement as something real and something that’s happening in their area. A greater number of people are embracing a vegan lifestyle, which we welcome. From new businesses, to families, to councillors, many people need support. This could be with a range of topics: going vegan, finding correct information, providing vegan options in their business, MPs listening to vegan constituents, and learning about our work.
Local issues are often unique and more varied than national issues. Our volunteers from local areas are vital! They enable us to share our messages and campaigns in an effective way. Research tells us that people are far more likely to trust information from a peer rather than an outside expert or organisation, so community volunteering vastly increases the impact of our campaigns.
Our network of committed local vegans across the country is growing! The Vegan Society organises various outreach activities to influence change in every level of society. There are a range of activities going on all the time, from general educational stalls at events to meeting with local policy influencers.
What does the Organiser role involve?
Every month, you will be sent a collection of tasks to choose from. We create these from our programme of campaigns. You would be the point of contact for Advocates in your area, sharing these tasks and coordinating activities, such as stalls and lobbying councillors. We will provide you with a campaign toolkit and be in regular contact with you to ensure you have everything you need. You will also be invited to our private Facebook group and WhatsApp chat.
We would expect you to provide any updates from your group and give feedback on each task. It's vital that we measure the impact that we are having, in terms of positive conversations and leaflets handed out. You can also give us ideas you have for future outreach tasks or campaigning. Many Organisers find a huge sense of satisfaction, improvement in self-esteem and enjoy the social side of volunteering in this role.
You will also be responsible for welcoming new Advocates in your area. We will let you know when somebody new applies, and you will help them to get involved with any activities. As the main contact for Advocates, this role does require some awareness of safeguarding and data protection procedures and policy. You'll also be the health and safety contact for your group. There will be full training on your role in this, as well as a handbook and ongoing guidance and support.
As an Organiser, you will ensure any resources or actions undertaken are in line with our branding and messaging guidelines and make sure that Advocates understand this too.
What training and support is available?
There will be a full induction to the role, with a gradual introduction of new tasks and responsibilities. To start with, we will provide an initial training session to cover the basics of community organising, communication skills and event planning. This will be done remotely from wherever you are. Along with this, we will provide a full pack of resources that covers a range of work that we do.
From there, there will be regular conversations and reviews, where we can discuss other training requirements. Staff are always available to Organisers for any questions, via phone or email.

The Role
GPC’s trustees will play a vital role in making sure the organisation achieves its core purposes of promoting the welfare and rehoming of companion animals, advancing animal welfare equity, relieving hardships faced by pets and their owners, lobbying for improved animal welfare legislation, fostering knowledge sharing, and building a supportive community for pet guardians in the Greater Glasgow Area.
Trustees oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that GPC has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Duties

Time commitment

Iprovision is the benevolent fund of The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Iprovision is currently looking for new volunteers to join its Board of Trustees.
You don’t need to be a member of the CIPR to become a Trustee of Iprovision, but you do need to be willing to donate your time – and your understanding of the challenges life can throw at us – to consider the plight of those less fortunate.
The role Iprovision plays in helping members in need is really important. For example, Iprovision provides the funding for the CIPR’s mental health hotline that gives members access to expert advice and online materials. CIPR members coping with stress, with job loss, family illnesses or other challenges can turn to Iprovision for expert advice, counselling and, in many cases, financial support. To mark CIPR’s 75th anniversary we also established an education fund to help people get into the PR profession. We plan to continue with this fund in future years.
As a registered charity, Iprovision is led by its small board of up to 12 volunteer Trustees who consider the applications from CIPR members for support. Based on advice from a professional Support worker – the Trustees make the final decision on the type and level of support to be provided. This might be a straight cash grant, or the Trustees might elect to pay for some training and coaching to help someone get back into employment.
Each applicant for support is presented to the Trustees anonymously, and decisions are taken purely on the facts presented, the situation being experienced, and the types of support that are available.
As a charity, Iprovision depends for its funding purely on the voluntary annual donations that some members pay on top of their CIPR subscriptions, and fundraising activity and events.
The Trustees have a vital role to play – driving awareness of the fund, arranging and supporting fundraising activity, and of course considering applications for support. The Trustees meet four times a year (mix of in person and hybrid meetings), and are responsible for ensuring that the charity manages its funds wisely.
Knowledge, experience and attributes
Charitable Trustees have a general obligation to:

Job Title: Convener of the Stationing Advisory Committee

The primary function of the Stationing Advisory Committee is to receive and consider applications from ministers who wish to serve in roles other than Circuit, District and Connexional Team appointments, and to make recommendations to the Stationing Committee.
About the role of the Convener of the SAC
There are nine main elements to the role:
- As each minister e-mails for an appointment, e-mail them back with a suggested time for an appointment. Keep a note of the time offered, to ensure not to offer that time to anyone else, unless it is not accepted. If a Panel is full, offer a date for a later panel. Attach the appropriate background information form and ask them to fill it in and return it, sending a copy to their District Chair, Circuit Superintendent, and the Warden of the MDO, as appropriate.
- About ten days before each panel meeting write to the District Chairs and the Circuit Superintendents of those coming to request any information from them helpful to the panel. Write also, where relevant, to the Warden of the MDO. Send out the timetable for the day to panel members, including the Zoom link. Email each minister coming to the panel reminding them of the time and date, also including the Zoom link, and telling them the names of panel members as they have the right to object to any members being present.
- A few days before the panel, send the forms and comments received to the Panel members.
- Be a member of the Panel.
- Following the Panel, receive the notes taken by the designated note-taker for proof reading and possible editing, add the relevant top (name, Circuit, year of travel, panel members, date of panel) and bottom (permission recommended). Send the reports to the Panel members for their comments. Once they have been agreed, send them to the minister, and copy them to the District Chair and, where relevant, the Superintendent and the Warden of the MDO. Send all of the reports to the Panel Chair and to the designated administrator at Methodist Church House, for them to store centrally. Keep an electronic copy of the report in a file. The administrator will update the Table of Permissions.
- In June, send the Table of Permissions to the District Chairs and the Warden of the MDO, asking them to check for any inaccuracies, and ask the administrator to update the table as necessary. Also send a request asking District Chairs to encourage suitable people to consider being Panel members, including a role description and an application form. Take up references as necessary, and arrange an interview with the applicant and the Chair of the Stationing Advisory Committee.
- In July, agree dates for the following Connexional Year with the Chair of the Stationing Advisory Committee. Write to all panel members asking if they are still willing to serve and for their available dates for the next year. Draw up a rota and send it to the Panel members.
- Be a member of the Stationing Advisory Committee.
- Prepare a brief summary of each report for the Stationing Advisory Committee meetings and present it to the Committee. Liaise with the designated administrator over the distribution of papers to the Committee members.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, committed person who has transferable skills. This individual will:
- Be a member in good standing of the Methodist Church in Britain
- Have previous administrative experience.
- Have an awareness of the variety of contexts that exist within the Methodist Church in Great Britain.
- Have a good knowledge of the stationing process of the Methodist church.
- Have a good knowledge of the constitutional and organisational arrangements of the Methodist Church.
- Have the ability to think strategically and connect vision, aims and strategies through theological reflection.

Our Charity Champions are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting PKS. You will work alongside the PKS Team to support the charity, raising money in your area, identify new fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of PKS and their Services.
Role description
Charity Champions represent PKS in their local area. There are various ways to do this, and the role is flexible, so you are free to pick and choose which activities appeal to you. Here are some examples of activities Charity Champions do:
- Attending cheque presentation events as a representative of PKS
- Attending community events as a representative of PKS
- Attending organised walking, running, and cycling events to cheer on people taking part for PKS.
- Organising your own fundraising activities e.g. bucket collections, cake sales or raffles
- Supporting PKS fundraising and/or awareness events e.g. bucket collections, festivals ro regional shows etc
- Providing information in your local area about the support PKS provides e.g. putting information leaflets in local GP surgeries, supermarkets or posters on community notice boards
- Holding awareness stands at community events.

Time commitment
Time can be as little or as much as you can give. We ask that all Popham Charity Champions complete an induction (either face to face or virtually) and be happy to attend regular meetups with other volunteers in their region if they are available. Once the induction is complete you will receive volunteer clothing, ID badge and pack and we will inform you of all our volunteering opportunities. If you have more time and would like to organise events, collections or find out what is going on in your area, we will provide you with the tools to support you in your efforts.

We have an ever-growing Community Network of vegans just like you, who have a passion to volunteer and promote veganism where they live.
Every month, our Network choose from a range of outreach tasks. These could include town centre stalls, writing to a councillor or MP, sharing our campaigns on social media or contacting local businesses. You're in control of how much or how little you do.
As an Advocate, you will have a network of other Advocates and an Organiser in your area. Your Organiser will be your main point of contact. They will send you tasks every month and ask you to feed back on what you've completed and any positive outcomes.
Why do we need you to volunteer?
As the vegan community grows, veganism itself becomes better understood. We're finding that more people are looking to The Vegan Society to find out what being vegan is all about.
Local communities are starting to see the vegan movement as something real and something that’s happening in their area. More people are embracing a vegan lifestyle, which we welcome. From new businesses, to families, to councillors, many people need support. This could be with a range of topics: going vegan, finding correct information around a vegan diet, providing vegan options in their business, MPs listening to vegan constituents, and learning about our work.
Local issues are often unique and more varied than national issues. Our volunteers from local areas are vital! They enable us to share our messages and campaigns in an effective way. Research tells us that people are far more likely to trust information from a peer rather than an outside expert, so community volunteering vastly increases the impact of our campaigns.
Our network of committed local vegans across the country is growing! The Vegan Society organises various outreach activities to influence change in every level of society. There are a range of activities going on all the time, from general educational stalls at events to meeting with local policy influencers.
Advocates are a crucial voice in their own community. They ensure that our campaign messages are spread far and wide. They provide a strong vegan presence in local communities.
What does the Advocate role involve?
Being an Advocate for veganism with The Vegan Society will mean communicating with people in your local community. You'll share the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. You will form part of a local group, headed up by a local Organiser. The Organiser will feed back your collective efforts to staff. You will also be invited to our private Facebook group, for vegan socialising and ideas sharing.
You’ll stay in touch with the Organiser and bring your passion to tasks. Activities can range from staffing a stall to giving a talk at an employee event. It could also mean writing to a local newspaper or lobbying an MP.
Messaging can differ every month. Part of our mission statement is to ensure people can remain vegan, so you might focus on getting more vegan options available in local businesses. Or within our Live Vegan for Less campaign, you may share cheap vegan recipes to help people with the cost of living.
When acting as an Advocate, you will use The Vegan Society’s branding and messaging guidelines. Your local Organiser will guide you in doing this, as they hold physical resources and handbooks. You can report any issues and feedback you have to your Organiser. You can also contact staff if your Organiser isn't available or you have any problems.
What training and support is available?
You will be provided with a big welcome and full induction from your local Organiser. They will introduce you to the group and any actions that are ongoing. Any training and development will be provided via your Organiser, and you can also ask for specific training on any areas that you need some development in.

The duties of a Trustee are to:

We are specifically looking for two Nations Trustees, one each for Northern Ireland and Wales. In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, the Nations Trustee will be expected to ensure that the Carers UK Board is informed on key issues affecting carers in the respective Nations.
In order to discharge this responsibility, the Nations Trustee will be expected to:
- attend the quarterly Nation Committee meetings and the Annual Conference
- establish working relationships with the Director of Devolved Nations, and with the Chair and other members of the Nations Committees
- represent Carers Wales and Carers Northern Ireland at some external events
- sit on recruitment panels as required.

Independent Choices Greater Manchester provides advice and support for survivors of domestic abuse in Greater Manchester. We offer a confidential helpline that offers survivors information about their legal options for safety, housing options, refuge availability, safety planning, contacting, and reporting to the police as well as emotional support, aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse and empowering survivors to take control of their lives through informed choices. Our helpline is accessed by survivors, friends and family and professionals who support survivors.
Position Overview:
As a chair, you will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction and governance of our organisation. Your insights, expertise, and commitment will direct us to fulfil our missions and aims. There will be a supportive onboarding process from the existing long-standing and experienced chair and continual support from the well-established board members.
You will:
- Provide leadership to the board of trustees, ensuring effective governance and oversight.

- Oversee our financial health and sustainability, alongside the manager and treasurer.
