We are looking for 2 skilled grant writer volunteers who can take the lead in researching appropriate funds and writing grant bids to help us continue offering our support services and resources and helping us create new programmes and services to support patients and their families who have been affected by a poorly understood chronic condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

As our Grant Writer you will be responsible for identifying appropriate grant opportunities, and managing the grant development and proposal process from research to submitting grant applications with any supporting documents.

As our grant writer, you will:

• Identify appropriate sources of funding where we fit their criteria 
• Write appropriately tailored grant/funding bids that meet funders’ interests and requirements and to write any additional documents in support of funding bids
• Help develop a Trusts and Foundations strategy to help create and maintain strong and diverse income that meets Burning Nights CRPS Support’s funding needs
• Create a calendar of grant deadlines and track submitted funding proposals
• Help us develop a case for support 
• Report on grant usage and impact
• Review all grant/bid feedback and ensure knowledge is shared, so that learning informs us for future approaches to grants

Other Information

This role is done remotely using Zoom, Slack and email. You would be working closely with the charity’s Chair and with other trustees. However we would have regular updates and remote meetings as needed so we know you are getting the support you need.

We have an induction process that will help successful applicant to understand how our Charity operates and full support of all our volunteers.

Minimum of 3-6 hours per week for this role

As a collection tin volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting us to raise our profile and fundraise within your community.

You will look after the Magpas Air Ambulance collection tins within a designated area, replacing full tins and returning them to an agreed location. You can also help us by finding new locations in which to place tins. These collection tins are an important part of how we raise money, raising approximately £20,000 per year.

As a collection tin volunteer, you will be expected to:

• Represent Magpas Air Ambulance in a respectful and friendly manner
• Understand the work of Magpas Air Ambulance, having basic knowledge and enthusiasm for our service
• Wear your Magpas Air Ambulance ID badge, ensuring it's visible at all times
• Travel to your collection tins (on two or four wheels). Where motorised vehicles are used, you must hold a full UK driving license, have a road-worthy vehicle with up-to-date road tax, MOT certificate (where applicable) and fully comprehensive insurance.
• Establish the regularity of required tin collections in your area, keep a log of your activities and feedback to the Supporter Care Officer
• Proactively replace full collection tins as needed and deliver them to an agreed location within one working day of collection
• Place new tins in locations within your area, ensuring they are accurately labelled with the location and organisation's name
• Inform the Supporter Care Officer of any new tins placed or any changes, helping us to ensure records are accurate and kept up to date
• Follow all Magpas Air Ambulance policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents and incidents
• Recognise, respond to, and report any safeguarding issues or concerns

Iprovision is the benevolent fund of The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Iprovision is currently looking for new volunteers to join its Board of Trustees.

You don’t need to be a member of the CIPR to become a Trustee of Iprovision, but you do need to be willing to donate your time – and your understanding of the challenges life can throw at us – to consider the plight of those less fortunate.

The role Iprovision plays in helping members in need is really important. For example, Iprovision provides the funding for the CIPR’s mental health hotline that gives members access to expert advice and online materials. CIPR members coping with stress, with job loss, family illnesses or other challenges can turn to Iprovision for expert advice, counselling and, in many cases, financial support. To mark CIPR’s 75th anniversary we also established an education fund to help people get into the PR profession. We plan to continue with this fund in future years.

As a registered charity, Iprovision is led by its small board of up to 12 volunteer Trustees who consider the applications from CIPR members for support. Based on advice from a professional Support worker – the Trustees make the final decision on the type and level of support to be provided. This might be a straight cash grant, or the Trustees might elect to pay for some training and coaching to help someone get back into employment.

Each applicant for support is presented to the Trustees anonymously, and decisions are taken purely on the facts presented, the situation being experienced, and the types of support that are available.

As a charity, Iprovision depends for its funding purely on the voluntary annual donations that some members pay on top of their CIPR subscriptions, and fundraising activity and events.

The Trustees have a vital role to play – driving awareness of the fund, arranging and supporting fundraising activity, and of course considering applications for support. The Trustees meet four times a year (mix of in person and hybrid meetings), and are responsible for ensuring that the charity manages its funds wisely.

Knowledge, experience and attributes

Charitable Trustees have a general obligation to:

- Act in the charity’s best interests

- Manage the charity’s resources responsibly

- Act with reasonable care and skill.

Trustees should understand the purpose and activities of the charity and ensure they are in line, and complying with the governance documents (the Memorandum and Articles of Association).

Our terms of service

Trustees are elected to serve terms of three years with an expectation that they will serve no more than 2-3 terms of three years.

We encourage applications from all sections of society and locations and are keen to ensure continued diversity brings constructive challenge and adds to the governance and work, of the charity.

Tanzania Development Trust (TDT) works in some of the poorest parts of Tanzania, helping people to lift themselves out of poverty by funding small projects that meet their essential needs.  

It sponsors 40-50 small rural development projects p.a. in Tanzania, mainly in the areas of clean water, girls' education and small income generating activities. It also has 3-4 larger, longer-term projects. Its primary function is fundraising, although it provides general project management and business advice where appropriate. 

Around half of its income comes from individual donors, and half from Trusts & Foundations. It helps villagers in Tanzania who lack the capacity and language skills to present their projects to international donors, conducting project appraisals and monitoring project outcomes on their behalf. The projects are implemented by the villagers themselves, or by small local contractors.

TDT is run entirely by volunteers (17 regular volunteers in the UK and 16 local representatives in Tanzania). It has no paid staff, premises or overheads, so 100% of all money raised goes directly to projects in Tanzania.

We are looking for additional Trustees who can help us to grow by identifying potential donors, increasing awareness of our activities, and strengthening our project selection and monitoring procedures.

We would like at least one of the new Trustees to help us with fund-raising by piloting more innovative and creative approaches. Experience of living or working in Tanzania is not essential, but to improve the Board’s racial diversity we would like at least one of the new Trustees to be of Tanzanian origin or have strong connections with East Africa.

The Trustees are all unpaid. Although their main job is the overall direction of the business, they can become involved in day-to-day operations if they so wish. We all work remotely, which helps us to engage with our local representatives in Tanzania in everything we do.

About Cruse

Cruse is Britain’s oldest and largest bereavement charity. In the Midlands, Cruse brings together more than 500 volunteers to helped support bereaved people, through a mix of individual and group sessions.

Cruse volunteers all pass through the same training process. Some volunteers are trained or trainee counsellors, whilst others have bereavement experience or put their listening skills to practice in helping people through their grief journey.

Cruse Worcestershire

The well-established Cruse branch of Worcestershire is seeking a Volunteer Chair. This active branch has 30 volunteers and can be supporting approximately 100 bereaved people at any one time. The volunteer team predominantly support service users via phone or Zoom, but does have outposts across the area. The team meet for regular forums and also hold in-person meetings, to socialise and cover learning topics specific to the work.

The role

The branch is looking for a Volunteer Chair. This role of Chair will be stimulating and call on your strategic and interpersonal skills.

It provides an opportunity to work alongside an experienced and diverse team of volunteers and staff in a rapidly changing environment to make a real difference to the people of Worcestershire.

The Chair provides a focal point for the branch, representing the volunteers and delivering a sense of cohesion to the volunteer group, championing their priorities and supporting key activities like learning, social events and fundraising.

The role is not remunerated. However, reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the role will be repaid.

Time Commitment

· The Branch Forum meets approximately 8 times a year for 1.5 hours in the evening (7pm – 8.30pm).

· Monthly operations-focused meetings with the volunteer administrators/part-time staff approx. every 6 weeks.

· Ad hoc communication outside of formal meetings.

· Attendance of Cruse national meetings based on interest/focus

· 3 in-person group social/learning events each year

Music Therapy Works is looking for three-to-four committed, motivated people to join the Board as Trustees, enabling even more people to benefit from music therapy.

We are looking, in particular, for one or more of the following skills/experience to complement our existing Trustees:

Our aims 

Popham Kidney Support (PKS) provides children, youths and adults with kidney disease and their families in Wales with a better quality of life by improving their emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing and improve their knowledge through education. 

Role summary 

Our Charity Champions are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting PKS. You will work alongside the PKS Team to support the charity, raising money in your area, identify new fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of PKS and their Services. 

Role description 

Charity Champions represent PKS in their local area. There are various ways to do this, and the role is flexible, so you are free to pick and choose which activities appeal to you. Here are some examples of activities Charity Champions do: 

• Attending cheque presentation events as a representative of PKS
• Attending community events as a representative of PKS
• Attending organised walking, running, and cycling events to cheer on people taking part for PKS.
• Organising your own fundraising activities e.g. bucket collections, cake sales or raffles 
• Supporting PKS fundraising and/or awareness events e.g. bucket collections, festivals ro regional shows etc
• Providing information in your local area about the support PKS provides e.g. putting information leaflets in local GP surgeries, supermarkets or posters on community notice boards 
• Holding awareness stands at community events. 
• Taking part in or encouraging others to get involved in fundraising events throughout the year 
• Supporting social media campaigns by sharing content with your network 
• Delivering talks about the work of the charity and the importance of fundraising 
• Promoting PKS within your own network and encouraging more people to fundraise for us 

Person specification 

• We welcome applicants with different skills and experience – however it is essential that you are passionate about PKS and supporting the work that we do to help patients and families face kidney disease. Below are some of the attributes we look for in Popham Community Champions:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 
• An ability to recognise and follow up on opportunities in your community and through your own networks 
• Flexibility

Time commitment 

Time can be as little or as much as you can give. We ask that all Popham Charity Champions complete an induction (either face to face or virtually) and be happy to attend regular meetups with other volunteers in their region if they are available. Once the induction is complete you will receive volunteer clothing, ID badge and pack and we will inform you of all our volunteering opportunities. If you have more time and would like to organise events, collections or find out what is going on in your area, we will provide you with the tools to support you in your efforts.
