We’re looking for trustees who have some of the following professional skills:

We are also looking for trustees with lived experience of BBS. No additional professional skills are required for those with lived experience of BBS, though any relevant skills would be beneficial.

Commitment:

Overview of the role:
Warwick District Foodbank are seeking to recruit Trustees with an interest in helping others, who are willing to uphold the food bank’s values, and who can bring life experience to the board of trustees. As a Trustee you will play a vital role by ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community as well as providing strategic direction for the charity.
Trustees ensure that the food bank acts in conformity with its purpose and with charity legislation, and that good governance, best practice policies and rigorous financial supervision are in place. They will be required to work collaboratively, with other trustees and with the staff and volunteers of the foodbank, and other external agencies.
Responsibilities:
- To join the Board of Trustees in ensuring the effective performance of the charity’s legal, regulatory and governance responsibilities in accordance with its constitution and its Objects as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
- There are general responsibilities that the Trustee board undertakes together, including to:
- Ensure that the Foodbank has in place a clear strategy, plans, vision & values.
- Ensure that the charity is accountable, is actively complying with statutory reporting and accounting requirements and the law, and that financial dealings are systematically accounted for and on time, independently examined and made publicly available.
- Develop effective ways to communicate with staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, funders, partners and the wider public; encourage transparency and accountability.
- Help promote the Foodbank as widely as appropriate, including to audiences of potential funders and beneficiaries.
- Ensure appropriate financial plans and budgets are in place; monitor contractual agreements with external partners that award money for core costs and additional projects.
- Ensure the Foodbank has appropriate procedures to comply with current legislation and good practice; including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Ensure an understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Trustees may also undertake additional work for the charity between meetings subject to their availability and skill set.
In addition, Trustees are expected to:
- Act with reasonable care and skill, giving their time, thought and energy to their role;
- Serve as an additional promoter of the foodbank in the community; and
- Adhere to the vision and values of the charity and its code-of-conduct.

Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support (OBS) is a small charity (a charitable incorporated organisation or CIO) providing free direct breastfeeding support to the families of Oxfordshire - via a mixture of virtual one to one appointments, in-person sessions, Zoom groups, a private Facebook group, antenatal workshops and work targeted at groups that are under-represented. Would you like to join our board and help us protect and grow the Kingston Women’s Centre? The Clinical Trustee role ensures the Clinical practice of KWC staff and volunteers are kept in line with BACP ethical standards and KWC’s Policies and Procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic
· To assist and advise in the formation of the KWC’s strategy with particular regard to ensuring KWC has the clinical expertise to deliver the strategy.
2. Clinical
·To offer advice and support to the Clinical Manager in the development of KWC’s clinical services.
·To support the Clinical Manager in the development of innovative and developmental concepts for volunteers, staff and service users where appropriate.

· Experience in a Senior Clinical role; ideally currently working in counselling, psychotherapy and or supervising counsellors and psychotherapists.

Help us support families to get the right education for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
We are recruiting voluntary positions to join our Board of Trustees.
Who we are
We are IPSEA, a national charity that works to ensure that children and young people with SEND receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. Since IPSEA was formed in 1983, we have helped to improve the education experience of thousands of children and young people with all kinds of SEND. We do this by providing free and independent legal advice and casework support, undertaking policy work and delivering training on the SEND law framework.
The impact of our work can be life-changing. If the needs of children and young people with SEND are properly understood as a result of a thorough assessment, if the necessary provision is put in place to support them, and if that support is delivered in a suitable school, college or other setting, they are significantly less likely to experience multiple fixed term and/or permanent exclusions, end up out of education for long periods, experience mental health problems, end up “NEET” (not in Education, Employment or Training) or enter the criminal justice system.
Who are we looking for?

Trustee role description
The duties of a Trustee are to:
- contribute actively to the Board of Trustees’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy and defining goals
- to set targets, and evaluate performance against agreed targets
- ensure that Carers UK complies with and pursues its objects as defined in its governing document, the Articles of Association
- safeguarding the good name and values of Carers UK
- ensure that Carers UK complies with charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
- ensure the financial stability of the organisation
- ensure that Carers UK applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects, ie the charity must not spend money on activities which are not included in its own objects, no matter how worthwhile or charitable those activities are
- protect and manage the property of the charity and ensure the proper investment of the charity’s funds
- ensure the effective and efficient administration of Carers UK
- ensure the organisation acts within employment and health and safety laws
- appoint the Chief Executive and monitor their performance.

Nations Trustee role description
We are specifically looking for two Nations Trustees, one each for Northern Ireland and Wales. In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, the Nations Trustee will be expected to ensure that the Carers UK Board is informed on key issues affecting carers in the respective Nations.
In order to discharge this responsibility, the Nations Trustee will be expected to:
- attend the quarterly Nation Committee meetings and the Annual Conference
- establish working relationships with the Director of Devolved Nations, and with the Chair and other members of the Nations Committees
- represent Carers Wales and Carers Northern Ireland at some external events
- sit on recruitment panels as required.
Person specification
- Sound knowledge of the relevant Nation’s issues, the devolved responsibilities held by the relevant Government, its diversity and geographical challenges
- A willingness to understand the work being delivered in the relevant Nation, context, key priorities and aims
- Be a Welsh/ Irish language speaker, or willing to learn (desirable)
- It is essential that the Trustee lives in the relevant Nation and is willing and able to travel to Cardiff/Belfast and London with some overnight stays required.

The Elizabeth Casson Trust was established in 1948 to further the profession of occupational therapy and support the development of occupational therapists within the UK and beyond. We have developed as an organisation through the years but have always worked to stay true to the pioneering spirit of Dr Elizabeth Casson.
The Trust supports the development and translation of research into practice, and the acquisition of knowledge and skills by occupational therapists. We achieve this through the awarding of grants. In addition, we commission specific projects through our innovation awards to respond to current and emerging needs.
We stay connected to our profession, professionals and service users to ensure the relevance and sustainability of the Trust.
Our current strategy includes working in partnership across all organisations where occupational therapists have a presence. We provide support and development in the most accessible way and ensure equality and diversity from the Board through funding awards to our future focus.
As we continue to deliver our current strategic plan for 2020-2025, we are in the process of appointing a new Executive Officer. Our current EO is leaving after 8 years with the organisation. As we look to the future in anticipation of creating our next strategy and with trustees coming to the ends of their terms, we are looking to appoint three new trustees to our Board.
Who we are looking for.
We are looking to appoint three new trustees, including two occupational therapists and one lay trustee. To ensure our Board broadly represents the profession, we have a particular interest in recruiting OTs with experience in social care, learning disabilities, acute care, NHS/ICS and/or independent practice. For the third trustee, we are looking for an individual with finance experience and an understanding of investments. We are keen to ensure our Board is representative of the UK and interested in appointing people from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Our trustee with financial expertise will join our Finance and Governance Committee, which meets monthly for up to an hour online.

Objective
- Holds the Executive team and the Board to account to:
- remain focussed solely on the BRACE stated purpose
- remain compliant with all English and Welsh laws and the regulations of the Charity Commission. - Support the Chief Executive in ensuring both the Board members and Executive team work closely together to achieve the agreed strategic objectives.
- Act (in partnership with the Chief Executive) as an ambassador and the public face of BRACE.
Charity Structure
- BRACE the charity has a sole Trustee “BRACE Trustee Limited”. All members of the Board are Directors of BRACE Trustee Limited and act as Trustees of BRACE. There are up to 15 directors of BRACE Trustee Limited who for reasons of clarity are called Trustees.
- The Chair and Trustees are usually appointed for a fixed term of 4 years which can be renewed once, enabling Trustees to serve for a maximum continuous term of 8 years.
Meetings
- Board meetings are held 4 times a year plus 1 awayday. Each meeting is +/- 4 hours.
- There are currently 3 sub-committees of the Board (Scientific Advisory Committee [SAC], Finance and HR). The 3 sub-committees meet no more than one month before the board meetings either in person or on Zoom. SAC reviews applications for grants and makes recommendations to the Board for approval.
- Board Meetings are generally held in person in the Bristol area, online or hybrid meetings are not encouraged but can be facilitated.

Overview of the role:
Great Yarmouth Pathway is a transforming place of light, love & engagement for the community of Great Yarmouth supporting those in need. Key tasks:

- Develop a long-term strategy for the food bank with clear objectives which can be monitored and adapted.

- Ensure the charity is accountable, actively complying with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and the law.
- Ensure appropriate financial plans are in place for future budget allocations as well as looking after contractual agreements with external partners that award money for core costs and additional projects.
- Help promote the charity to a wide audience of potential funders and beneficiaries and community stakeholders.
- Ensure the charity and foodbank has appropriate procedures to: comply with current legislation and good practice; including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding & GDPR compliance/data protection etc.
- Act with reasonable care and skill, giving your time, thought and energy to your role.
- Prepare for and regularly attend and participate in board and subcommittee meetings and any trustee away days.
- Provide ad hoc support to the staff team and volunteers from time to time.
- Act at all times in accordance with the foodbank’s trustee code of conduct.
- Ensure the principles of equity, equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in Yarmouth and Magdalen Foodbank and help deliver public benefit.
Trustees may also undertake additional work for the charity between meetings subject to their availability and skill set.
