Home-Start Epsom, Ewell and Banstead (HSEEB) is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families and children. Staff and Volunteers offer regular support, including providing emotional and practical help to families in the families’ own homes and connecting families with specialist services within the community.
We are looking to recruit a new Chair of Trustees and additional Trustees; who will increase the range of skills and experience on the Board. This is essential for us to make the best decisions for HSEEB and our families. For the Chair role, you will need leadership skills and a good understanding of governance. For the Trustee roles, there is no requirement for you to have been a trustee before, however, you do need to be passionate about improving the lives of children and the families we support.
You will be good at working with others, ready to speak up and ask questions, be thoughtful and open to learning and able to stand back to see the bigger picture. You must take the responsibilities of a Trustee seriously.
We are looking to better reflect the experiences of our community, to bring the skills and experiences of diverse Trustees to the Board, as well as recruiting Trustees with lived experience of or insight into socio-economic disadvantage.
We would like to hear from people who can bring some of the following skills and expertise: Contracting; Governance; Event Planning; Bid Writing; Early Years; Mental Health; IT and Media

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to local service providers and community groups. Marie Curie Companion is a professional service provided by trained volunteers who offer one-to-one companionship and support to people with a terminal illness and their families. The service would not be able to reach those most in need if it was not for the commitment and hard work of the volunteers delivering the service.
Companion Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support, practical support, short breaks for carers and help with signposting for information and support.
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:

The Vice Chairs’ role is to support the Chair in executing their duties. The Vice Chair continues to fulfil all those duties assumed when he/she became a trustee as outlined in the document The Trustee Board, Role and Responsibilities. The Vice Chair will assume the role of Chair in the absence of the chair. To this end, their duties are similar in that the Vice Chair will be expected to provide leadership in giving firm strategic direction to the charity and will be responsible for ensuring that the board meets regularly, keeps transparent records, agrees priorities, and ensures that the charity’s income sources, and expenditure allow it to meet its charitable aims. This includes:
- Ensuring the Chair has all information he/she requires in order to carry out their role to the best of their ability.
- The Vice Chair will discuss and offer his/her advice to the Chair based on her understandingof the charity’s’ vision, values, mission, strategy and policy when the documents are due to be reviewed.
- The Vice Chair may be, on occasion expected to represent the Chair at external functions and events. The Vice Chair must always act in the best interest of the charity.
- The Vice Chair will act as a point of contact for the trustees and others between formal meetings when the chair is unavailable.
- The Vice Chair will ensure that regular meetings are held between the Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to discuss any managerial issues and strategy.
- The Vice Chair must remain abreast of the laws and regulations relating to the charity’s’ activities.

Elizabeth Casson Trust seeks new Trustees to support the development of occupational therapists and the profession in the UK and internationally.

The Elizabeth Casson Trust was established in 1948 to further the profession of occupational therapy and support the development of occupational therapists within the UK and beyond. We have developed as an organisation through the years but have always worked to stay true to the pioneering spirit of Dr Elizabeth Casson.
The Trust supports the development and translation of research into practice, and the acquisition of knowledge and skills by occupational therapists. We achieve this through the awarding of grants. In addition, we commission specific projects through our innovation awards to respond to current and emerging needs.

Who we are looking for.
We are looking to appoint three new trustees, including two occupational therapists and one lay trustee. To ensure our Board broadly represents the profession, we have a particular interest in recruiting OTs with experience in social care, learning disabilities, acute care, NHS/ICS and/or independent practice. For the third trustee, we are looking for an individual with finance experience and an understanding of investments. We are keen to ensure our Board is representative of the UK and interested in appointing people from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

About Cruse
Cruse is Britain’s oldest and largest bereavement charity. In the Midlands, Cruse brings together more than 500 volunteers to helped support bereaved people, through a mix of individual and group sessions.
Cruse volunteers all pass through the same training process. Some volunteers are trained or trainee counsellors, whilst others have bereavement experience or put their listening skills to practice in helping people through their grief journey.
Cruse Worcestershire
The well-established Cruse branch of Worcestershire is seeking a Volunteer Chair. This active branch has 30 volunteers and can be supporting approximately 100 bereaved people at any one time. The volunteer team predominantly support service users via phone or Zoom, but does have outposts across the area. The team meet for regular forums and also hold in-person meetings, to socialise and cover learning topics specific to the work.
The role
The branch is looking for a Volunteer Chair. This role of Chair will be stimulating and call on your strategic and interpersonal skills.
It provides an opportunity to work alongside an experienced and diverse team of volunteers and staff in a rapidly changing environment to make a real difference to the people of Worcestershire.
The Chair provides a focal point for the branch, representing the volunteers and delivering a sense of cohesion to the volunteer group, championing their priorities and supporting key activities like learning, social events and fundraising.
The role is not remunerated. However, reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the role will be repaid.
Time Commitment
· The Branch Forum meets approximately 8 times a year for 1.5 hours in the evening (7pm – 8.30pm).

Blue Cross is helping people and pets in an unprecedented time of crisis.
Nobody should have to make the heart-breaking decision to give up their pet because they cannot afford to feed them. Pets are beloved family members, sometimes a person's only friend.
Blue Cross is working in partnership with Pets at Home to collect donations of pet food and other essentials, which are then distributed through a network of human food banks. We’re proud and grateful to be Pets at Home’s nominated charity for 2024.
We need your support for a few hours over a three-week period to promote our pet food bank service at Pets at Home stores across the UK. This event is family friendly, and everyone, regardless of age, is invited to join in on the fun! If you are bringing children under 16, please ensure they remain under your supervision at all times.
Your support will help pets and their families in your community to stay together and get through the toughest of times.
What you will be doing
- Engaging with the customers and community at Pets at Home stores to raise awareness of our pet food banks, inviting and encouraging donations of pet food, or make monetary donation through the Pets at Home till. Look out for our donation bins, proudly displaying the Blue Cross logo, in-store!
- Chatting about our partnership with Pets at Home in supporting pets and their families in need. We'll provide you with all the necessary details to confidently share this information with shoppers.
- Educating Pets at Home shoppers about the invaluable work Blue Cross does and promoting our pet food bank service. Don't worry about what to say – we will provide you with a comprehensive information pack closer to the event.
- Collaborating with our organising team to select which Pets at Home stores to visit and setting up an attractive display area within the store.
We'll make sure you have all the materials you need and access to all the information necessary to support you in your role. There will be a short video available to you covering information about setting up and providing further support for making pet food donations.

We’ve developed an innovative approach to helping people make that transition to sustainable living that has the potential of being scaled up and used nationwide – putting us on the road to zero carbon. We’re working closely with communities to pilot and develop the scheme.
In the next 12 months we planning an events programme to engage inspire the public and businesses, and for collaboration and co-creation for climate action innovation.
The next step will be a regional sustainability hub – a visitor attraction with hands-on activities. A go-to destination, training facility, and events/exhibition space – and a resource base for outreach and schools’ programmes.
How you can help
As Communications & Marketing Board Member, you’ll take a leading role in developing and implement communications and marketing strategies. You will help raise the profile of the Eco Centre so that it can increase its support and develop the opportunities and partnerships needed to achieve its sustainability goals. A key aim will be building support for a sustainability hub for the South West.
You will be a member of a newly enlarged team, ensuring we’re able to step up our action on climate change/sustainability and the drive to Zero Carbon.
Key information:
Responsible to: The board and membership
Working Location: Generally remote working but the ability to help occasionally at events in the South West is preferable.
Location Requirements: Preferably living or working in the South West. Regulations permit only a limited no. of directors from outside the area of benefit.
Hours: Minimum of 6-8 hours a month. Flexible
Renumeration: None. Voluntary. Expenses only.

What you’ll be doing
As a hands-on board member, you’ll:
- Develop and implement a communications/marketing strategy
- Lead the membership drive
- Identify and develop new promotional and engagement opportunities
- Act as brand manager for all communications output
- Be joining newly enlarged team, steering and developing the Eco Centre, helping it to realise its ambition of a Sustainability Centre for the South West.
- Play an important part in developing strategy and ensuring the organisation is well run and able to deliver, and step up, its impact on climate change and sustainability.
- Contribute to the day-to day running of the organisation and/or its operations.

We are looking to recruit a committed and experienced Senior Fundraising Officer who is able to guide operational fundraising activities towards our strategic goals which require funding.
Role of the Senior Fundraising Officer:
- To work alongside the fundraising team to secure funding to support work of organization
- To support and supervise junior fundraising volunteers, this includes but is not limited to proof reading funding applications and setting tasks
- To occasionally complete grant funding application forms
- To generally support the fundraising activities of the organization
- To work alongside managers to support team productivity
Role requirements:
- To have prior fundraising experience
