Job description

Arican Drumming creates a sense of community and connection and is known to bring people together. Drumming also offers a healthy outlet for stress, anxiety and depression, and through the rhythm created, you’ll find a constructive way to navigate difficult times.

We are recruiting for a volunteer to facilitate African Drumming group sessions and promote cultural diversity, tolerance, and appreciation for different artistic expressions.

What you will be doing

  • To facilitate African Drumming lessons for beginners in a small group
  • Plan each session, in collaboration with those you are supporting
  • Lead on logistics and organisation of the sessions alongside the staff team
  • Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback, and report any concerns to the staff team

The skills you need

  • Experience in teaching African Drumming and the ability to teach at beginner level
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to provide a supportive, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and participation
  • Calm and patient approach
