Content Manager Volunteer Roles in Bristol
About Us
With Jesus. With each other. To the edges.
We are passionate about God’s mission and eager to see more and more people become followers of Jesus. For 225 years CMS has been at the forefront of global mission, living out the gospel of Jesus, seeing lives changed and communities transformed across the globe. Often in ways we could not have anticipated.
Founded by William Wilberforce and other members of the Clapham Sect group of activists in 1799, today CMS supports hundreds of people and partners in mission working together across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. We also train UK Christians for creative, ground-breaking mission in Britain.
Context
With mission no longer being a “West to the rest” endeavour, and as Christianity has flourished in parts of the majority world, we have undertaken a prayerful review of our organisation, in order to discern our mission call for this generation.
We have rediscovered and been re-inspired by the pioneering spirit of our founders. We believe our calling for this time is to the “edges”: to the edges of society, the edges of church and to the edges of our comfort zones. To that end, we have been aligning our organisation and focus to play a catalytic role in facilitating movements of mission to and from these edges.
The Role
Taking a listening and reflective approach, as Chair you will draw out the diverse skills and wisdom among our trustees, ensure excellence in our governance, support the executive leadership in delivering our refreshed vision and play a role in strengthening our links with the Global Anglican Communion.
If you share our passion for following Jesus and making disciples at the edges, bring experience at board level, a highly relational approach and a global perspective, we would love to hear from you.
For more information see the job pack attached. Closing date 14 August.

Love Rwanda Initiative
A youth and women organisation focused on empowerment programs with an emphasis on Sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR), Mental health and Livelihoods.
-
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Limited access to information and SRHR services: Challenge: Young people and women in Rwanda still remain out of reach from adequate information prior to their first sexual act, which brews misconception of facts hence leading to risk behaviors. High levels of teenage pregnancy and unsafe abortion: Challenge: Teenage pregnancy rates remain high and many young women continue to resort to unsafe abortions since they cannot access safety services. Gender-Based Violence Challenge: Gender-based violence, in particular sexual assault and domestic violence, is rampant against the health and well-being of women and girls.
-
Mental Health: Stigma/Lack of Awareness Challenge: The stigmatization of mental health issues prevails with a corresponding lack of awareness and understanding about mental health in the community. Lack of Mental Health Services: Challenge: The avenues available for mental health services are very few, and the personnel is few in number; therefore, accessibility to the required aid becomes difficult.
-
Livelihoods: Unemployment and Underemployment: Challenge: Most youths and women face high levels of unemployment or low wage employment with no stability. Lack of Entrepreneurial Opportunities: Challenge: Women and youth lack resources and facilitation to start and sustain enterprises of their own. Economic Dependency: Challenge: Economic dependency on male family members constrains women's autonomy and puts them at a low decision-making power.
- Comprehensive sexual education programs, partnering with local clinics to provide easy access, and raising awareness campaigns regarding SRHR in the community.
- Contraception, family planning, and müş promoting safe and legal abortion services.
- Support service provision to survivors of GBV, including counseling and legal aid, with community education on prevention of violence against women for gender equality.
- Conduct sensitization and campaigns to raise awareness on mental health, reduction of stigma, and promotion of good mental health in the community.
- Counseling centers, training of mental health professionals with peer support groups
- Provide vocational-training programs for people with marketable skills that will enhance job employability.

- Economic Empowerment by means of livelihood programs that allow women to generate their own income towards financial independence.

Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of youth and women in Rwanda? GeoTrees EU addresses the urgent deforestation crisis by connecting individuals globally with transparent, scientifically guided tree-planting initiatives, ensuring accountability through geolocation tracking. Trees are vital for the survival of the world’s ecosystems. They clean the air we breathe by capturing excess carbon dioxide (CO₂) and releasing oxygen. Trees provide a habitat for wildlife and thus, save the variety of life on earth. However, deforestation is happening every day in front of our eyes. 15 billion trees are cut down every year. There’s no time to wait!
Reforestation is a long game. Planting a tree today, individuals can make a contribution for generations to come. Geotrees supports local and indigenous people as much as possible. At the same time, their goal is not just planting any tree anywhere, but planting in the way that biodiversity is taken into account. Your action today will have a huge impact for decades to come.
