YMCA Lincolnshire is seeking new Trustees to join us in bringing energy, enthusiasm, wise governance and strategic guidance to maximise our reach and impact on people's lives and communities. We are passionate about the causes we support, we are an ambitious team and we operate within an equitable, open and engaging culture. Our passion and ambition for the work means we are not afraid of taking informed risks and new challenges. We hold bi-monthly Board meetings in Lincoln, which we ask Trustees to attend in-person. As well as some other training and Sprint events taking place in-person. Other tasks such as reading Board papers can be done remotely.

A bit about this role:
As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.
As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!
What can you expect to be doing?
As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:
- face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
- online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
- bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
- engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Alike is a charity with one simple mission: To end the loneliness and isolation that people impacted by cancer experience. We exist to empower our community to make meaningful connections through seamless digital experiences which help people find their sense of belonging. We were created for people impacted by cancer, by people with cancer.
Driven by our mission and inspired by the start-up mentality, we operate with agility and pace. In 2021, we launched our ground-breaking iOS and Android app as a space exclusively for the cancer community to connect. Now we’re looking to scale nationwide, and we need your help to do it. Alike is the only non-for-profit organisation providing a large scale, tailored peer support platform across all ages and diagnoses, whether someone’s facing a sleepless night or a lonely weekend.
We're looking for 1 legal trustee to join our scaling charity! We are particularly interested in people who have a background or experience in UK law, such as IP law or data protection. Our Trustees:
Our board of trustees is essential to Alike’s mission. Working as a team, they take shared responsibility for maintaining alignment between our vision, strategy and day-to-day operations. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the executive team, driving Alike’s growth, inspiring new approaches, and helping us scale. Their perspective, insights, passion and collective experience is crucial to our mission as we continue combating loneliness and isolation throughout the cancer community.
Your Responsibilities:
Joining our board of trustees is a commitment to Alike’s mission as well as our products. We need our trustees to not just believe in our potential, but to authentically champion it. Our ideal trustee can clearly envision Alike taking a leading role in combating isolation in the cancer community - and in making a lasting, positive change. We’re looking for active, engaged and experienced trustees to join our existing board during this thrilling period of growth and innovation.
Beyond that, you would be required to collaborate on certain statutory duties (listed below), and to provide advice and guidance throughout Alike’s new initiatives. The power of our board lies in a diversity of viewpoints, so your unique combination of specialist knowledge, skills and experiences is key to success in this role.
We would expect you to contribute this set of skills to the board’s shared responsibility: making sound decisions for the charity’s direction. This would include - but by no means be limited to - scrutinising board papers, leading meetings, chairing discussions and taking an active role in board meetings.
Time Commitment:
- Regular board meetings (6 per year, 3 in-person meetings, 3 virtual)
- Additional time for sub-committee work and strategic planning
- Flexible availability for brief ad-hoc advisory calls or meetings
- Attendance at our Annual General Meeting in central London
Skills and Experience:
- An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of trusteeship
- An understanding of the challenges faced by those living with cancer and the impact of emerging technology in addressing these challenges
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Strategic and critical thinking skills - a problem-solver with a lateral thinking style
- Strong financial literacy
- An understanding of the tenets of employment law and GDPR compliance at scale
We need trustees with a diverse range of skills, experience and knowledge, and would love to hear from people who could bring the following:
- Experience in UK law, ideally in employment law, data protection or intellectual property

Are you passionate about making a difference? We're looking for a dedicated Honorary Treasurer to oversee the financial well-being of our charity.
The Honorary Treasurer will monitor the financial standing of the charity and support the Board in the review of all financial matters and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources.
They will Chair the Finance & Resources Sub-committee and feed into the charity’s financial risk-management process, reporting financial health to the Board of trustees at regular intervals. They will also advise on fundraising, income, and development of unrestricted funds of the charity.
The Treasurer will act as a counter signatory on payments and applications to funders, and work with the Accountants and Executive Team to ensure that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion.
They will provide input to ensure the organisation’s finances are responsibly managed and invested for the betterment of the organisation’s work and for the beneficiaries it serves

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of charity fundraising and finance practices
- Committed to our cause and objectives and willing to act as the charity’s ambassador to external bodies, charities and companies
- Skills and experience in one or more areas of non-executive governance and management e.g. strategic planning, business management, financial/accountancy, understanding of HR issues, experience of Trusts or other grant giving bodies particularly fundraising and legal knowledge
- A team-oriented approach to problem solving and to management
Time commitment and location
- Currently the Board meets at least six times a year and the Treasurer is expected to be available at key points in the accounting cycle
- Board meetings are every 2 months (2-3 hours approx. per meeting)
- You will chair the Finance & Resources sub-committee which meet at least quarterly, online (1-2 hours approx. per meeting)
- Ideally meetings will take place in person although online and hybrid options are available

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.
As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you!
What can you expect to be doing?
As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:
- face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with fundraising events, attending supermarket collections and monitoring collection boxes.
- online fundraising – assisting with online appeals, increasing social media engagement to maximise funds raised.
- bringing new ideas! We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life.
- engaging with your local branch and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team.

Mulberry Schools Foundation is looking for a Finance Trustee to support it in its next stage of development. The Foundation was set up by the Mulberry Schools Trust and builds on its work to create exceptional educational opportunities.
Who we are
Mulberry Schools Foundation is the charitable arm of Mulberry Schools Trust, established in 2019. The Foundation is creating exceptional opportunities for children and young people facing disadvantage, strengthening their capacity to make a difference in their world. We support, develop and champion young people and their families in the Trust’s schools, its partner schools and its local and global communities through a wide range of commissioned and funded work.
The role
We are looking for an individual with financial experience at a senior corporate level to become the designated Finance Trustee for Mulberry Schools Foundation. The candidate is expected to be a qualified accountant and may have investment experience. Experience of charity funds would be helpful but not essential. We can provide training. Commitment to support MSF’s mission and values is essential. There are currently six Trustees and the board meets three times a year. Meetings are usually held at Mulberry School for Girls, E1 2JP, but occasionally are held remotely for convenience. Trustee terms are four years.
The Foundation has recently resumed operational activity and intends to grow its funds significantly over the coming months and years. The finance team of MST provide the operational financial administration for the Foundation. The Finance Trustee will support the Foundation’s Trustees with oversight of the financial reporting and management of the Foundation’s funds and with identifying and attracting funding partners. The Foundation is particularly interested in securing a large sponsor for its endowment fund.
The successful candidate will:
· be passionate about creating opportunities for those from disadvantaged backgrounds
· have professional expertise in finance and an accounting qualification
· have experience at a senior level
· be commercially astute and comfortable with fundraising
· be willing to leverage their own networks for the Foundation
· be a strong ambassador for the Foundation and its stakeholders
· have the energy, time and commitment to fulfil the role
