What your role will involve
There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
- Receiving donated goods from members of the public
- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
- Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
- Processing sales and serving on the till
- Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
- Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
- Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
- Following new health, safety and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of everyone

As a Branch Secretary, you would be in an essential volunteer role as the principal communications trustee managing and maintaining the administrative affairs of our branch. Using your expertise and skills, you will be able to influence how we care for and prevent cruelty to animals and drive the implementation of key initiatives. We rescue and rehome around 200 animals each year and provide community help and support with animal welfare in all DA postcodes plus BR8 postcodes.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours. However, the commitment may vary depending on whether or not the trustee takes on additional duties.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Secretary:
- To act as the primary contact point for all branch communications with the national Society, the branch committee and the branch membership.
- Arrange branch meetings, ensure accurate minutes are taken and distributed in accordance with branch rules.
- Ensure all branch committee decisions are implemented and actions completed.
- Arrange the branch AGM including the compilation and distribution of the annual report, nominations and agenda in line with the strict timetable laid down in the branch rules.
- Arrange the timely dissemination of the contents of all correspondence and literature received by the branch, ensuring availability to all committee members, and reply to all branch correspondence where necessary.
- Order and distribute RSPCA stationery, leaflets, posters and other fundraising and promotional material.
- Liaise with the Branch support specialist (BSS) and group chief inspector and notify them of all branch meetings.
- Advise the BSS of all changes to branch facilities, services and contact details.
- In the absence of the membership secretary, assume responsibility for the maintenance of the branch membership list.
- Submit recommendations for national Society awards to the BSS, in accordance with the wishes of the committee.
What we are looking for in a volunteer:
- Above all, we are looking for someone who is committed to the RSPCA’s charitable objectives and shares our passion for animal welfare.
- Specific skills such as finance, fundraising, project management, business experience, awareness of employment and/or charity legislation can be useful, but not essential.
- You will need to be able to work with people and have good interpersonal skills. You do not need to be an expert, although commitment, common sense, and the ability to be objective are vital.
- Be able to commit to 4 hours weekly.

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to help enhance our visual communications. This volunteer position involved creating illustrations and graphic content that accurately conveys our brand and mission, and helps promote awareness of BPD and our work.
About Us
We are Borderline Support UK CIC, a non-profit organisation which is entirely volunteer-run and is led by our service users who are living with, or affected by, borderline personality disorder (BPD). We provide support and information to anyone in the UK affected by BPD. Every year we support more than 2000 people through our peer support groups and support services. We support people diagnosed with BPD, those who are living with symptoms, and their loved ones.
Key responsibilities
Illustration and Graphic Design
- Developing high-quality supportive visual content for use in social media, website and publications
- Develop visual content that aligns with our branding and mission
- Design infographics to convey information relating to BPD
Collaboration
- Work closely with the leadership team to understand project requirements and deliver visual content meeting that brief
- Accept feedback from team members to improve and refine visual content
Content Development
- Develop high-quality content for awareness campaigns and fundraising events

Time Commitment

You will receive support from the leadership team, and ongoing direction from a named key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete induction and basic training before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18, and have the right to live and work in the UK.

Bardet-Biedl Syndrome UK (BBS UK) is looking for new Trustees to support the charity with its communication strategy and community engagement.
We’re looking for trustees who have some of the following professional skills:
- Legal including charity law
- Marketing/Media/PR
- Fundraising
- Human Resources
We are also looking for trustees with lived experience of BBS. No additional professional skills are required for those with lived experience of BBS, though any relevant skills would be beneficial.
No previous Trustee experience is required.
As a BBS UK Trustee, you will have:
- induction, training and reimbursable expenses
- opportunities to make strategic decisions and develop new skills
- opportunities to network with likeminded organisations and professionals
- influence to shape innovative projects

Commitment:
The expected time commitment is three committee meetings per year (lasting approx. 3 hours each), via Zoom with one in-person meeting a year usually held in London; attendance at our Annual General Meeting (AGM); and an annual strategy day. Regular monitoring and response of emails is also required.

Our aims
Popham Kidney Support (PKS) provides children, youths and adults with kidney disease and their families in Wales with a better quality of life by improving their emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing and improve their knowledge through education.
Role summary
Our Charity Champions are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting PKS. You will work alongside the PKS Team to support the charity, raising money in your area, identify new fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of PKS and their Services.
Role description
Charity Champions represent PKS in their local area. There are various ways to do this, and the role is flexible, so you are free to pick and choose which activities appeal to you. Here are some examples of activities Charity Champions do:
- Attending cheque presentation events as a representative of PKS
- Attending community events as a representative of PKS
- Attending organised walking, running, and cycling events to cheer on people taking part for PKS.
- Organising your own fundraising activities e.g. bucket collections, cake sales or raffles
- Supporting PKS fundraising and/or awareness events e.g. bucket collections, festivals ro regional shows etc
- Providing information in your local area about the support PKS provides e.g. putting information leaflets in local GP surgeries, supermarkets or posters on community notice boards
- Holding awareness stands at community events.
- Taking part in or encouraging others to get involved in fundraising events throughout the year
- Supporting social media campaigns by sharing content with your network
- Delivering talks about the work of the charity and the importance of fundraising
- Promoting PKS within your own network and encouraging more people to fundraise for us
Person specification
- We welcome applicants with different skills and experience – however it is essential that you are passionate about PKS and supporting the work that we do to help patients and families face kidney disease. Below are some of the attributes we look for in Popham Community Champions:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to recognise and follow up on opportunities in your community and through your own networks
- Flexibility
- Organisational skills
- Positive outlook
- Willing to complete paperwork such as expenses forms and keeping track of what activity you have done
- Ability to travel around your local area (within reason). A clean driver’s licence is advantageous but not essential.
- Good presentation and public speaking skills
- Friendly and approachable
- All Charity Champions must abide by PKS values and agree to our policies and procedures
Time commitment
Time can be as little or as much as you can give. We ask that all Popham Charity Champions complete an induction (either face to face or virtually) and be happy to attend regular meetups with other volunteers in their region if they are available. Once the induction is complete you will receive volunteer clothing, ID badge and pack and we will inform you of all our volunteering opportunities. If you have more time and would like to organise events, collections or find out what is going on in your area, we will provide you with the tools to support you in your efforts.

Could you provide administrative support for the SSAFA committee on a military base? You need basic I.T and
administration skills, the ability to get on with people and good written and spoken English. If so, we’d love to hear

What is a Committee Secretary?
There are SSAFA committees on many military bases around the UK and overseas. Each one has a secretary to
makes sure that meetings are organised, volunteer information is up to date and decisions are recorded. This is a
key role involving administration and communicating with people.
Why do we need you?
We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community for more than 130 years. In recognition of their service to the
Nation we aim to provide financial, practical and emotional support when it’s needed most. To do this we need
local volunteers who can ensure the community know about SSAFA and keep things running smoothly behind the
scenes.
When would you be needed and where would you be based?
This role is about communication and administration. Many volunteers can do this from home or their place of
work. The role would suit someone looking to offer a regular time commitment. You would also need to organise
and attend a number of regular meetings each year. This role is an Office Bearer with voting rights.
What would you be doing?
• Working with the committee to agree an annual plan of activity based on local need
• Providing administration for at least four meetings per year
• Monitoring volunteer numbers against the demand for support and recruit new volunteers as needed
• With the support of the Learning and Development and Volunteer Experience Teams at Central Office,
ensuring all volunteers have completed the training and mandatory tasks required for their roles.
• Building positive relationships with regional and central office staff and other providers represented on base
• Providing reports to the local SSAFA branch and to SSAFA’s Central Office
• Maintaining accurate and up to date volunteer records, reporting any changes to Central Office
• Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA remembering that anyone you meet could be a potential beneficiary,
volunteer or fundraiser
• Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including adhering to our policies such as the
volunteering policy and data protection policy

What are we looking for?
• Friendly and approachable people with some experience of coordinating people and admin

• Good level of IT skills e.g. ability to use email and Excel –you will receive your own SSAFA email address
• Respectful and non-judgemental approach to beneficiaries, their family, other agencies and SSAFA
colleagues
• Ability to keep within boundaries of the role for example, prompt reporting of safeguarding concerns.
• Reliable attitude, contact volunteers promptly, keep appointments etc.

• Ability to provide two references: from former employers or other people that know you well (other than
