EVENTS VOLUNTEER (Guildford & Epsom Branch)
We are the RSPCA and it's our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion. Our volunteers are incredible and play an absolutely essential role in helping us carry out our important animal welfare work every day. Much of the RSPCA’s direct animal welfare work is carried out through the branches. These separately registered charities across England and Wales are run by volunteers who are unstinting in their work for animal welfare.
We are looking for friendly volunteers to help fundraise at fetes, in supermarkets and other outlets to collect vital donations that enable us to continue our animal welfare work. The more volunteers we have and funds we can raise, the more animals we can help!

In this role, you will be the friendly face of the RSPCA, helping us raise funds for our branch at community fetes and in local high streets, supermarkets and similar outlets.
This varied role offers you the chance to experience different volunteering positions, ranging from street collections and in-store fundraising drives to attendance at local community fetes. Each of these events are equally important to raising vital funds as well as raising our profile in the community.
Volunteering at events offers you the opportunity to meet other volunteers and learn about how you each support the RSPCA. You will most likely meet animals that we have rehomed and hear about their adoption journey.
If you have a relaxed dog that likes meeting people, you are welcome to bring them along with you to street collections and fundraising drives as this is always a conversation starter!
Location is dependent on the event at which you choose to volunteer, you will be out in the community in the local area

- Fetes and fairs: potentially assisting with set up or pack away, handling money from sales of chatting to members of the public and thanking them for any purchases they make.

The skills you need
- No experience is necessary as we will provide you with the guidance you need.
- Reliability and commitment.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Enjoy working with the general public.
- Enthusiasm and passion for the work of the RSPCA.
- We ask for a minimum of one hour of your time - we recommend a maximum of 2 hours at any one event as you will be standing.
- You will need to be aged 18 years old or over to volunteer in this role unless you can be accompanied by an adult.

Before you can start volunteering you’ll need to complete our simple online Health & Safety course and any associated training required for your role. Our voluntary roles are subject to an informal interview and trial period. We will ask you to provide contact details for two referees and depending on the position you may be required to sign an agreement and undergo specific training before starting the role.

Join our board as a trustee: help us navigate a path to a sustainable future
Are you passionate about making a difference and equipped with the skills to guide a small charity through challenging times?
CMV Action are seeking proactive and committed trustees to join our board and support us in building a sustainable future.
About CMV Action
CMV Action is the only charity in the UK providing support and information to families affected by congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV). Congenital CMV is the most common viral infection that can affect babies before birth, with potential long-term health impacts such as hearing loss, developmental delays and vision loss. It can also cause miscarriage and stillbirth.
As many as 1 in 200 newborn babies are born with congenital CMV. The majority of these will not have any symptoms. However, around 1 in 1,000 born in the UK every year will have permanent disabilities as a result of congenital CMV – around 900 children every year. As congenital CMV is a relatively unknown condition, it is a common misconception that it is rare. It is in fact more common than Down’s syndrome, Toxoplasmosis, Spina Bifida or Cystic Fibrosis.

Integrate UK invests in the skills and talents of marginalised young people to nurture future leaders who promote our vision of gender and racial equality and cross- cultural cohesion.
We aim to empower more young people to challenge inequality and to push for the policy changes they wish to see to create the society in which they wish to live. Through their work with us the young people learn transferable skills, improve confidence and self-esteem, form positive relationships with peers from different religious and cultural backgrounds, raise attainment and lead a movement for positive change in their communities. We aim to give young people a voice and a platform for expressing their views and ideas.
As well as supporting young people with their learning, ambitions and aspirations, we run a wide range of creative and educational projects that they have devised themselves.
Our older members deliver peer-education workshops in schools nationally using our young activists’ youth friendly, accessible media resources. Our workshops encourage discussion around a range of challenging issues including female genital mutilation (FGM), honour-based abuse (HBA), sexual harassment and assault, racism and different forms of extremism.
From a small, local voluntary group founded by twelve girls, Integrate UK has grown to a national, multi award winning charity increasingly run by representatives from the groups with whom we work. In addition to our board of trustees, we have ten Junior trustees and an active youth board that steers our work and informs our approach.
Our young people are involved at every level of the organisation; they identify the issues they wish to address, design and deliver all our projects based on their lived experience.
We are in the process of developing an ambitious 3 - 5 year strategy and under the guidance of our young activists, a full rebrand. We are looking for new trustees to support our charity and continue our development. We actively encourage applicants that are representative of our beneficiaries’ diverse backgrounds and/or share lived experience with the issues our young people are facing.
The ideal candidate should have recent experience (within the last 5 years) in one or several of the following areas and demonstrate a willingness to be available to staff for advice and enquiries on an ad hoc basis:
- Marketing, Public Relations and Communications
- Charity Law / Law
- Education
- Safeguarding
- Fundraising (Major donors / corporate / trusts and foundations)
- Creative Industries (Arts / music / film / photography / theatre or advertising agencies)
- Charity Finance/Finance (Treasurer)
- Human Resources & People and Culture
- Activist or Anti-Oppression consultant or facilitator
As part of our board you will support and shape our strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to provide young people with the skills, opportunities and platforms to lead and to deliver the changes they want to see in terms of gender and racial equality. We nurture their aspirations, enabling them to achieve their full potential and to change, define and determine their own lives and those of future generations. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the progression of the charity.

About Sense
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to offer personalised support to help people communicate and experience the world. We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our experts offer support that’s tailored to the individual needs of each person, whether that’s at our centres, through our holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. In addition to practical support, we also provide information to families, and campaign for the rights of people with complex disabilities to take part in life.
Volunteers add real value to Sense, bringing their passion, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to the work that we do. We believe that volunteers enable us to bring people together, and provide opportunities for people with complex disabilities to communicate and experience the world.
We include. We collaborate. We find a way. We challenge. We celebrate.
Do you want to make high quality, inclusive relationships and sex education a reality for all children and young people?
We are looking for four new volunteers to join our current Board of Trustees. We are keen to recruit people with fundraising, financial management, lived experience or youth participation expertise. The experiences and voices of young people are central to our work, so we are encouraging more young people (aged 18 years old and above) to join our board.
The Sex Education Forum campaigned successfully for the introduction of compulsory relationships and sex education (RSE) in all schools in England. Now we are focused on making sure this promise becomes a reality. We partner closely with young people to understand where the gaps are and who is missing out. We run training for educators and we bring lots of different organisations together to form a community around our shared goal of high quality, inclusive RSE for all, because we know it can make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people.
Being a trustee can be very rewarding. It’s an opportunity to develop yourself and gain skills, and have the chance to help shape what we do and how we do it. Take a look at the trustee role description and don’t feel you have to tick all the boxes. If you share our passion for RSE please read on and consider applying to join us.
