Job description

Job Title: Freelance Project Manager
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Company: ProudToBeMe

Job Overview:

ProudToBeMe is looking for a dynamic and experienced freelance Project Manager to join our team on a one-year contract. The Project Manager will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing multiple ongoing projects while being responsible for delivering three high-impact bootcamp events throughout the contract term. This role requires strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and experience in event management and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination:
    • Lead and manage multiple ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and within budget.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
    • Track project progress and performance, identifying potential risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  2. Bootcamp Event Management:
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute three major bootcamp events throughout the year.
    • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, registration, marketing, and communication.
    • Collaborate with speakers, trainers, and other stakeholders to design and deliver engaging and impactful bootcamp programs.
    • Ensure each bootcamp aligns with the company’s mission, goals, and branding guidelines.
  3. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related queries and communications.
    • Regularly update internal and external stakeholders on project status, progress, and key developments.
    • Prepare and present detailed project reports, including post-event analysis for bootcamps.
  4. Resource Management & Budgeting:
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation for both events and ongoing projects.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
    • Oversee the procurement of necessary materials, tools, and services.
  5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Provide guidance and direction to team members, fostering collaboration and productivity.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to align on goals, resolve issues, and track progress.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among teams and project members.
  6. Process Improvement & Best Practices:
    • Continuously evaluate project management processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Implement project management best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Some experience as a Project Manager or coordinator, preferably in event management, youth work, non-profit or related sectors.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing end-to-end event planning and execution.
  • Budget management and resource allocation experience.
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing bootcamp-style events or training programs.
  • Familiarity with virtual event platforms and hybrid event management.
  • Minimum education- Bachelor’s level degree.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is a plus.

Contract Details:

  • This is a one-year contract with an expectation to deliver three successful bootcamp events during the contract term.
  • The role is freelance, with flexible hours, but requires availability during key project timelines and events.
  • Competitive compensation, based on experience and project complexity.
