Become our new Communications Volunteer Assistant
We have an exciting new volunteering opportunity to work as part of a small Communications team. This is a part-time role, working either in our office or remotely, for 7.5 hours per week. It can be done over the course of a day or spread out across the week.
The role involves a wide range of exciting tasks, including:
- Producing and editing blog posts on our websites
- Support with planning, scheduling and producing social media content
- Helping with in-person and online events, including promotional activity
- Contributing to digital and print newsletters for our various projects
Desirable skills and qualities needed for the role include good written and verbal communications. Knowledge of social media platforms and tools like WordPress and Mailchimp is desirable, although training will be provided to use them if needed.
Other free training will be provided, including on advocacy and safeguarding adults and children.
Support provided
As Communications Volunteer Assistant, you will be supported by our Communications and Network Officer in regular catchups and supervisions. You will also be able to get support from other members of our wider Central Services team, as well as access to any additional training you might need.
Your travel expenses will be covered by The Advonet Group. In addition, when working in the office, we will provide you a lunch voucher to use at Café Leep. If working at an external venue e.g. for an event, costs for food of up to £5 will be reimbursed.

Being a youth leader is an amazing opportunity for adults aged 18+ to teach valuable lifesaving skills to young people aged 10 – 17 in your area! Volunteering at least two hours per week could make a massive difference to these cadets now and have a real impact on your community.

Raising Futures Kenya supports young people in Kenya to become self-reliant and live free from poverty, through technical vocational training and business skills courses, and specialised support such as counselling. We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Board of Trustees as the Treasurer, to oversee the appropriate management of charity finances, adhering to relevant regulatory compliance, and to lead on reporting on the financial situation to the Board.
We are in Year 2 of our 5 year Strategic Plan, where the focus is on shifting the decision making power to our partner NGO in Kenya. Ultimately our long-term goal is to not be needed, but we realise the funding landscape is a long way off that at the moment.

The Honorary Treasurer is a director of Healthwatch Bucks with specific responsibilities to:
1. Lead the Board in fulfilling its responsibility to protect the financial integrity of Healthwatch Bucks.
2. Provide support and guidance on financial matters to the Chief Executive and their Team.
3. Represent Healthwatch Bucks with key stakeholders as required.
Financial Integrity
The Honorary Treasurer leads the Board in protecting the financial integrity of Healthwatch Bucks by:
● Chairing the Finance Committee and, on its behalf, making recommendations to the Board.
● Keeping the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities, ensuring understanding of financial planning and budgeting and current and forecast finances.
● Monitoring and reporting the organisation’s financial health regularly to the Board in line with best practice, complying with its Articles of Association, financial legislation, statutory requirements, contractual obligations and necessary insurance cover.
● Ensuring that the organisation has and complies with up-to-date financial policies and processes including Risk Management, Reserves, Business Continuity and Financial Management & Internal Controls.
● Monitoring cash flow to ensure financial sustainability.
● Ensuring that financial transactions and reporting meet the conditions of contractual and other agreements with commissioners, funders, partners and sub-contractors.

Support & Guidance
The Honorary Treasurer shares the duty of all Board Members to ensure effective policy making, strategic planning and monitoring of the performance of Healthwatch Bucks. Additionally, the Treasurer has specific responsibilities supporting the Chief Executive to ensure that:
● Financial planning processes are maintained and that available financial resources are appropriate to the aims of the organisation.
● Healthwatch Bucks has an effective strategy for generating and accounting for commissioned and donated income to achieve its objectives and manage its expenditure.
● The Board receives all necessary advice on the financial implications of strategic plans and projects.
● The Board is presented with budget statements, management accounts and financial information at all key points in the planning and budget cycle and that issues are outlined in a coherent and easily understandable way.
The Financial Management and Control Policy is kept up-to-date and implemented throughout the organisation.
● Proper procedures are followed for preparing, presenting and filing the annual financial statements.
● The recommendations of external financial advisors are reported to the Board and acted upon.
● Equipment and assets are appropriately recorded, depreciated, maintained and insured.
Representation
The Honorary Treasurer will, as appropriate:
1. Liaise with staff and contractors responsible for the financial activities of the organisation.
2. Represent Healthwatch Bucks with commissioners and sub - contractors, partners, Healthwatch England, bankers and members.

Art History Link-Up is looking for a new Secretary Trustee to join the Board.
Our small Board currently comprises ten dedicated individuals, between them holding broad experience across several sectors and disciplines.

Secretary
- An individual with a legal background, or with sound knowledge of the area who can take the lead on compliance issues relating to constitutional, legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.

The Board of Trustees has responsibility for:
- Providing strategic oversight and leadership, ensuring that Art History Link-Up pursues its stated objectives.
- Ensuring effective and efficient administration of the charity, including approving the budget, defining goals and targets, evaluating performance, and taking appropriate action to manage risk.
- Taking a limited but hands-on role to support the delivery of certain elements of the charity’s work (e.g. marketing, accounting, recruitment).
- Ensure resources are used effectively to ensure the overall financial sustainability of the charity in future years.
- Contributing to and safeguarding the reputation and values of the charity and our partners, being an excellent advocate for Art History Link-Up and the young people we work with.
- Supporting our employees, freelancers and volunteers to help them contribute positively and professionally to the development of the Charity and its programme.
- Ensuring that Art History Link-Up operates in accordance with the principles of good governance, complying with its Articles of Association, its safeguarding and recruitment policies, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

Our aims
Popham Kidney Support (PKS) provides children, youths and adults with kidney disease and their families in Wales with a better quality of life by improving their emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing and improve their knowledge through education.
Role summary
Our Charity Champions are passionate individuals who are committed to supporting PKS. You will work alongside the PKS Team to support the charity, raising money in your area, identify new fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of PKS and their Services.
Role description
Charity Champions represent PKS in their local area. There are various ways to do this, and the role is flexible, so you are free to pick and choose which activities appeal to you. Here are some examples of activities Charity Champions do:
- Attending cheque presentation events as a representative of PKS
- Attending community events as a representative of PKS
- Attending organised walking, running, and cycling events to cheer on people taking part for PKS.
- Organising your own fundraising activities e.g. bucket collections, cake sales or raffles
- Supporting PKS fundraising and/or awareness events e.g. bucket collections, festivals ro regional shows etc
- Providing information in your local area about the support PKS provides e.g. putting information leaflets in local GP surgeries, supermarkets or posters on community notice boards
- Holding awareness stands at community events.
- Taking part in or encouraging others to get involved in fundraising events throughout the year
- Supporting social media campaigns by sharing content with your network
- Delivering talks about the work of the charity and the importance of fundraising
- Promoting PKS within your own network and encouraging more people to fundraise for us
Person specification
- We welcome applicants with different skills and experience – however it is essential that you are passionate about PKS and supporting the work that we do to help patients and families face kidney disease. Below are some of the attributes we look for in Popham Community Champions:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to recognise and follow up on opportunities in your community and through your own networks
- Flexibility
- Organisational skills
- Positive outlook
- Willing to complete paperwork such as expenses forms and keeping track of what activity you have done
- Ability to travel around your local area (within reason). A clean driver’s licence is advantageous but not essential.

Time commitment
Time can be as little or as much as you can give. We ask that all Popham Charity Champions complete an induction (either face to face or virtually) and be happy to attend regular meetups with other volunteers in their region if they are available. Once the induction is complete you will receive volunteer clothing, ID badge and pack and we will inform you of all our volunteering opportunities. If you have more time and would like to organise events, collections or find out what is going on in your area, we will provide you with the tools to support you in your efforts.

Join us as a Trustee at The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain! As a registered charity, we’re seeking dedicated individuals to guide us in fulfilling our mission with integrity and passion.
Responsibilities include shaping strategic direction, safeguarding the organisation’s values, ensuring financial stability, and actively contributing to board decisions. Trustees play a key role in promoting openness, honesty, and leadership.
We’re looking for committed individuals with a love for brass banding and youth music, and expertise in areas like arts management, funding development, audience development, marketing and communication.
We hold four trustee meetings a year - three online (typically 2-3hrs) one in person (full day). Estimated annual time commitment 20hrs per year. You are also encouraged to attend performances and events.
