About Me2 Club:
Our Vision is ‘Inclusion for All’ children and teenagers with additional needs and disabilities.
Every year, Me2 Club matches over 100 children who have additional needs or disabilities with committed and passionate volunteers to help them attend and take part in mainstream leisure activities. We tackle the impact of exclusion and social isolation experienced by children and young people and help build their confidence, self-esteem and independence.
About the role:
As treasurer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of Me2 Club. Key responsibilities include overseeing the financial management of the charity, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date; collaborating with other trustees and the Chief Executive Officer to develop and monitor the charity's budget; presenting financial reports to the board of trustees at regular intervals; identifying and addressing financial risks that could impact the charity; ensuring that the charity complies with relevant financial regulations, such as filing tax returns and adhering to charity law. The treasurer will also liaise with our independent examiner to prepare the annual accounts.
As a member of the Board of Trustees you will be jointly responsible for the legal, effective and safe running of Me2 Club. Working with other Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer you will provide strategic leadership to a growing and ambitious charity. As one of our ‘guardians of purpose’ you’ll make sure that all our decisions put the needs of children and their families first.
To be successful in this role requires these key skills:

The treasurer has responsibility for the financial affairs of the charity and works closely with the board and the CEO to safeguard Children with Voices’ finances.
The treasurer will have:
·General financial oversight.
·Be responsible for financial planning and budgeting.
·Reporting as required to all statutory bodies, the board of trustees, the CEO and operational managers of the charity.
·Give financial advice to the trustees.
·Ensure that the charity functions within the legal and regulatory framework of the sector and in line with the governing document.

While work may be delegated to a subcommittee or paid staff, the treasurer will exercise a supervisory role to ensure that all the financial responsibilities are met.
We are seeking to recruit a new Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for S.A.L.V.E. International with a minimum commitment of 8-12 hours per month (which can be evening and weekends) based in the UK.
S.A.L.V.E. International is a small International Development charity registered in the UK and Uganda. Our ethos is “Support And Love Via Education”. We support children living and working on the streets of Uganda to have a brighter future.

With the generous help of our supporters, S.A.L.V.E. works with children on the streets of Jinja, Uganda, so they have the opportunity to leave their difficult pasts behind them and move forward, towards a brighter future.
We have Drop in Centres and Street Outreach services for children currently living on the streets. We offer short-term residential care in our Halfway Homes or Drug Rehabilitation Centre to help a child to transition off the streets, and follow up care and support for when a child has been resettled home to their family. We also offer educational support, or business skills training where assessed to be needed to help a child to settle home successfully.
What does the Board Treasurer role involve?
You will join our Board of Trustees in the UK and work alongside our CEO, Chair, staff teams and Ugandan board, to help S.A.L.V.E. International to thrive and increase our impact.
The term of office for our board is four years (which is renewable) – however it is possible for someone to step down, resign or take a sabbatical within this time period, should your circumstances change.
Practically the role will involve:
● 8 to 12 hours a month.
● Attending 4 board meetings per year (these are on a weekend in the daytime. The dates are set at the start of each year and they will normally consist of three virtual half day meetings and one face to face whole day meeting per year).
● Our board has 3 committees that meet virtually once per quarter between board meetings. These are Finance, HR and Governance and Fundraising and Communications. As treasurer you would chair the Finance committee, with the option to join any other committee alongside this if you wish and are able to.
● Responding to emails (where relevant), liaising with the CEO, Chair and other board members as needed, and championing any areas of S.A.L.V.E.’s work in which your knowledge, skills, experience and time available allow.
We also believe that it is highly beneficial for board members to visit the programme in Uganda at least once every four years to understand the work in greater depth, share their skills and to meet with team members and service users. Assistance towards your flight costs may be available, based on an application from the trustee.
Treasurer specific responsibilities:
As treasurer of the board you would also be responsible for:
• Ensuring the charity maintains proper accounts by overseeing and providing guidance to the staff members who do the day to day bookkeeping work.
• Reviewing the charity’s financial performance.
• Reviewing and presenting financial reports to the board in a clear format to help the board understand the charity’s financial position.
• Advising the board on how best to carry out its financial responsibilities.
• Liaising with professional advisors, S.A.L.V.E. staff and with the charity’s independent examiner/ auditors as needed.
• Overseeing the internal audit of our annual accounts.
• Reviewing policies for finance, security of assets and investment.
• Ensuring that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place.
Essential skills for the treasurer:
• Have experience in finance/accounting. You might hold one of the following financial qualifications: ACA - Chartered Accountant, ACCA /CACA - Certified Accountant, CIMA - Chartered Management Accountant, or CIPFA.
• Have proven experience in communicating well with different stakeholders.
• Have the ability to review and develop strategies, policies, procedures and systems to ensure that S.A.L.V.E. is following good practice in line with the UK Charity Commission.
• Be solution focused and creative in their ability to approach problems.
Other desirable (but not essential) skills:
• Have experience of successfully working internationally and/ or with people from different cultural backgrounds.
• Have experience of using XERO software.
• Have previous experience within the charity sector and be able to evidence their enthusiasm and dedication.

We're looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join our valued Board of Trustees who will play a pivotal role in ensuring IPEM is well governed and complies with all financial legislation and good practice for charities. This is an exciting time to join IPEM, with an ambitious growth plan agreed for the next 5 years.
The Honorary Treasurer chairs the Institute’s Finance and Business Planning Committee (F&BP), four meetings/year, normally held on line and is also a Trustee and Director of IPEM, attending the Board of Trustees’ four meetings/year, normally 2 in York and 2 in London. Charity Trustees
The Charities Act 1993 defined charity trustees as those responsible under the charity’s governing document for controlling the administration and management of the charity. This is the case regardless of the terminology used to describe the role. The trustee board at Oxfordshire Youth usually comprises up to twelve trustees, although there is no formal limit on the number of trustees, including the following roles:
● the Chair of the Board of Trustees
● the Deputy Chair and CEO Line-Manager
● the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Sub-Committee
● the Safeguarding Lead and Chair of the Safeguarding,Quality and Impact Sub-Committee the People and Development Lead and Staff Liaison Trustee
The Role of the Board
At its most fundamental the role of the trustee board is to receive assets from donors, safeguard them and apply them to the charitable purposes of Oxfordshire Youth. The trustee board must always act in the best interests of Oxfordshire Youth, exercising the same standard of duty of care that a prudent person would apply if looking after the affairs of someone for whom they have responsibility. Trustees are ultimately and legally responsible for everything Oxfordshire Youth does. Trustees fulfil this responsibility by agreeing the strategy, agreeing organisational policies and implementing appropriate monitoring and control mechanisms to ensure and evidence compliance. Trustees appoint the CEO and, on recommendation by the CEO, appoint the Senior Leadership Team to manage all operational matters and the operational team in line with the approved strategy, policies and control mechanisms.
Duties of a Trustee
The statutory duties of a trustee are:
● Ensure that Oxfordshire Youth complies with its Articles of Association, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations
● Ensure that Oxfordshire Youth pursues its objects as defined in its Articles of Association
● Ensure Oxfordshire Youth applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects. For example, it must not spend money on activities which are not included in the objects, however worthwhile they may be
● Contribute actively to the board of trustees by giving firm strategic direction to Oxfordshire Youth, setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
● Safeguard the good name and values of Oxfordshire Youth
● Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organization
● Ensure the financial stability of Oxfordshire Youth
● Protect and manage the property of the organisation and to ensure the proper investment of the organisation’s funds
● Appoint the Chief Executive Officer and monitor performance
In addition to the statutory duties listed above, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve leading discussions, identifying key issues, asking difficult questions and providing advice and guidance on new initiatives. Trustees must ensure that the charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these.
Treasurer Role Purpose
To provide high level oversight of the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
Key Responsibilities
● Attend bi-monthly Trustee meetings; chair bi-monthly Finance. Audit and Risk (FAR) Sub-committee meetings and report to the Board on financial matters. The first point of contact on the Board for any matters relating to Finance.
● Work with the Head of Finance, CEO, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee members and other Trustees to ensure the financial viability of the organisation.
● Support fellow Trustees to be aware of their financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them.
● To have oversight of accounting policies, procedures, processes and record keeping including advising on best practice.
● Appraising the financial viability of plans, proposals and feasibility studies.
● Sign off annually on the organisation budget and annual accounts.
● Lead on appointing auditors
● Work with Finance Lead, EO, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee members and trustees to set the financial strategy for the organisation.
Time Commitment
Trustees are expected to attend an induction session at Oxfordshire Youth prior to their first board meeting. Trustees are expected to attend the six annual board meetings, five of which last approximately three hours (typically 6-9pm). One meeting is an annual strategic planning board away-day or residential held each year. Papers, proposals and reports are distributed one week in advance of meetings. The Treasurer will also Chair the FAR sub-committee sub-committee which means 6 times a year for 2 hours.
Trustee Role Boundaries
Trustees in a decision-making capacity:
● As a board of trustees
● As a sub-committee
● Chair - delegated authority by the board to make decisions between board meetings with quorum of three, where necessary
● CEO Line Manager - delegated authority by the board to make decisions between board meetings where necessary
Trustee roles outside of the above decision-making capacity:
Advisory role (i.e. offering advice in an area of expertise). In this capacity the Trustee is acting as Trustee but, as noted above, does not have decision-making capacity in their own right.
Volunteer role (i.e. participating in an operational working group). Here the Trustee is subject to the decision-making of the operational team-member who is in a position of authority. As a volunteer the Trustee is at liberty to withdraw.
Observer role (i.e. attending an OY workshop for young people or observing OY work). In this capacity they are acting as a Trustee but have no role beyond observing or information gathering for the purposes of strengthening their own understanding and / or board-level decision-making.
Champion role (i.e. spreading the message about the work of OY). In this capacity they are acting as a Trustee, helping to build the profile of the work of OY, with no decision making, but with the view of creating a positive image and sign-posting people to OY.
Who we are looking for
As a Treasurer, you will have:
● Knowledge and experience of current and fundraising and finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
● Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management (as necessary).
● Good financial analysis skills.
● Experience of advising others on financial matters, and being prepared to challenge
Each trustee should have:

EXPERIENCED TREASURER required to join the Trustee Board of our growing and evolving frontline charity in Dorset, support survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse.
STARS Dorset is a growing, independent charity supporting those living, working or studying in Dorset who have been affected by sexual violence and/or domestic abuse. We support approximately 3600 unique individuals every year with our specialist support services, enabling them to start their own journey of recovery. Over the past 5 years we have seen increasing demand for our frontline services and we are now looking for a Treasurer to lead on the financial governance and compliance of our charity.

Introduction
CRRC is a registered charity with the primary object of supporting refugees and displaced persons in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire. The charity is lead by the Board of Trustees of which the Treasurer is an ex-officio member. (S)he is subject to the decisions of the Board.
The role
The Treasurer will hold the CRRC’s Trustees to account for the Charity’s finances and vision, maintain financial control and ensure we comply with our legal responsibilities as a Registered Charity. The Treasurer will work with all members of the team to ensure that there is a transparent and clear financial process. As Treasurer to the Charity, you will also become a Trustee. Trustees are expected to understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and understand their role as a Trustee.
The role is mainly online with occasional in person meetings in Cambridge. The expected hours will vary between 2 to 6 hours per week with a flexible working arrangement. The position is unpaid. Expenses incurred in undertaking the role will be reimbursed.
A competent treasurer or part-qualified bookkeeper or accountant would be ideal. Experience in the charity field is desirable but not essential.
Our bank is the Co-operative Bank. There is no branch in Cambridge, so all transactions are electronic or by post.
The duties of the Treasurer
- Budgets The Treasurer co-ordinates the production of an annual budget, in conjunction with Group leaders. Details are kept on excel spreadsheets.
- Financial Reports will be presented to the Board every quarter, setting out the income, expenditure and balance against budget at the end of each quarter. In addition to providing the Board with an overview of the financial position of CRRC, these reports should help the Board to understand trends and pressures and help the Board to understand how CRRC is using funds to support its objective.
- Financial records These are now only kept electronically, using excel spreadsheets. The existing spreadsheets have been set up by the present Treasurer, but could be modified if improvements are considered advantageous.
- Receipts are from various sources, as standing orders, bank transfers, cheques and through Kindlink, Paypal, CAF and payroll deductions. Cash is rarely used.
- Gift Aid The treasurer is responsible for making claims for Gift Aid and for keeping Gift Aid forms.
- Payments All payments must have signed off by a Trustee responsible for the budget heading. The vast majority are by bank transfer. Claims for payment are made on an electronic form to the Treasurer, who then sets up a bank transfer which is forwarded to the signatories for approval. This gives final authorisation for the bank transfer to take place. The Treasurer must check that the form is correctly filled in and the payment requested is in line with relevant e-mails and overall CRRC policy. A bank card is used for a limited number of specific payments. The number of payments varies each month. In 2022-23 there were 270 payments across the year.
- Restricted and designated funds In addition to the main CRRC fund, there are currently 3 restricted/designated funds. These funds use the same bank account, but its transactions are recorded separately.
- Annual accounts The Treasurer is responsible for producing annual accounts after the end of the financial year, which runs from 1 July to 30 June. These are then presented in draft to the Board before being submitted to an Independent Examiner. The Treasurer then passes the approved annual account summary to the relevant Trustee for submission to the Charity Commission (Annual report and financial accounts 2022.)

- Supporting volunteers The Treasurer is also responsible for informing volunteers about the process for payments, including through relevant updates to process documents, and may be required from time to time to contribute to updated guidance for volunteers.
Additional notes
The current treasurer will be training the new treasurer and will remain available to support the new treasurer. The main reason for the stepping back of the current treasurer is to make time for the current treasurer to drive and oversee important changes and adaptations to facilitate the financial management of CRRC and to be more closely involved in the overall governance of our charity.
CRRC intends to adopt a digital payments system in 2024-25, in order to streamline the payment process for CRRC’s volunteers, budget approvers, bank signatories, and for the Treasurer. CRRC is also exploring changing the bank account.
It is possible that the number of restricted/designated bank accounts may be reduced.

They are seeking a new Treasurer to support their Board of Trustees in meeting their financial obligations. Specific responsibilities include overseeing, approving and presenting budgets, accounts and financial statements and advising on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans.
Experience of being a Treasurer previously is not essential. They are looking for someone who has skills in financial management with a commitment to the vision, mission and values of the organisation.

Location:
