Opportunity to contribute as the Volunteer DJ/Music coordinator for the gala awards ceremony of the Big Syn International Fim fest & Awards 2024- the World's biggest sustainability film fest & awards at one of London's iconic venue, Curzon Soho.
Awards night on 8th Nov between 2.00-6.00pm. London based applicants ONLY.
Rehearsal for 1hr at Curzon Soho on 23rd Oct 10.30-11.30am. Should be available for some online rehearsals with the host before the event.
Job description
During the event you would
- Curate and play dynamic music playlists to enhance the overall atmosphere during the event, as winners & speakers go on stage.
- You are required to bring your own DJ equipment and computer for playing the music.
- Collaborate with event organisers and teams to align the music with the event's tempo and audience.
- Work in coordination with the venue AV team.
- Coordinate with the host/presenter and speakers to execute the event.

We are looking for a volunteer to support us with collecting food donations from local stores. Do you enjoy being out and about in the community? The role would involve travelling to stores around the local area to collect food donations, and then delivering these to the service.
The donations will be approximately a bin bag full so may be more suitable for someone who drives and has a car but the locations are a few stops on the tube from the service. The locations of the collections are around Victoria and Waterloo and will be delivered back to the service in Lambeth. Please note that all travel expenses will be reimbursed!

We're looking for a new Chief Volunteer for International, to provide strategic volunteer leadership for both UK Scouting’s international relationships with the World Organisation of the Scout Movement, National Scout Organisations worldwide and Scouting’s international partner organisations; and the UK’s approach to delivering the international component of our Scout programme for young people.
Operationally, you'll play a senior leadership role in the forming and management of our UK contingents to World and European events ensuring that learning from previous events and agreed methods
for ensuring effective governance and delivery of these contingents is fully implemented.
You'll provide leadership for the various teams and functions that operate the international services and support for UK Headquarters within UK Scouting and internationally including our International Rep Pool, International Support Team and international endorsements process.
It is our ambition to create the best possible team to lead UK Scouts, and we believe that we will do that by inviting and involving volunteers from different walks of life with different experiences, different skills and perspectives. As a Group Leader at Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO), you will play a key role in guiding and supporting young people through our 18-month program. This involves leading weekly 2-hour sessions in Faringdon, creating a safe and engaging environment, and driving personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a 2-hour weekly session during term time, following YoCO’s unique programme: ME (self-awareness), US (group dynamics), and THEM (community & global causes).

- Plan fundraising activities alongside your group and the YoCO support team, and attend events (some may be on weekends).
- Lead the group on a 5-day UK residential trip organized by YoCO.

- Attend an induction with the Group Manager, complete a DBS check, and receive First Aid and Safeguarding training (funded by YoCO).

Developing young people through personal challenge
Overview of the role
We are an exciting team that aim to design and develop fantastic programme for all members of our organisation. We have several ongoing pieces of work and upcoming projects that enable volunteers to get stuck right in and have real impact. You will have a part in designing programme, see it develop and then watch it reach local Scouting.
We will provide support when inducting you into the role, engage you in an exciting project and then help you on your next steps as a volunteer at the end of the project. This is a great opportunity for those who have never volunteered at Headquarters to give it a go. We would love to see plenty of new faces!
What would I be doing?
This role will be working as part of the Programme Design Team to facilitate work on one of our short-term projects. You will be joining one of our Project Cohorts. After applying, we will review applicants’ skills and experience, before selecting a group to work on a particular project with set goals.
Our upcoming projects will be aiming to develop our top-quality programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in innovative and impactful programme design. Each project is anticipated to last for 3 months. Once your project is complete, we will support you in your next steps as a volunteer. This could include inviting you to apply to join the Programme Design Team on a long-term basis.
