The Role

A bit about this role

At Cats Protection we passionately believe that neutering cats before they can breed is an essential part of cat ownership, and without neutering the UK’s cat population would quickly get out of control. Our neutering volunteers help spread positive neutering messages and make it easier for owners on low incomes to get their cats neutered. They help raise awareness of the benefits of neutering, promote our neutering schemes and respond to enquiries from members of the public.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Promoting the benefits of neutering and our neutering schemes
• Responding to enquiries about neutering

• Following up with cat owners to make sure that vouchers are used

Hope and Vision Communities is a small charity based in Berkshire providing supported, move-on accommodation for people who have successfully completed residential rehabilitation. We are growing to expand who we can help to other geographical areas, as well as working on opening a women’s service.

As our Volunteer Social Media Engagement Assistant, you will interact as Influential Stars with Creators, Collaborators, registered causes and supporters.

You will respond to comments, acknowledge tags and shares, engage with relevant content and help ensure questions and opportunities reach the appropriate team member. This is primarily a social media engagement role.

Routine content creation, planning and scheduling are not core responsibilities; however, experience in these areas would be advantageous, as there may occasionally be opportunities to provide support or cover by mutual agreement. Your main purpose will be to help people feel noticed, valued and connected to the Influential Stars community.

Job Title: Online Yoga/Pilates Volunteer Teacher

Role purpose:
 

• Deliver accessible, high-quality online Yoga, Pilates or soft fitness/stretching/movement sessions tailored to a diverse community with varying English proficiency levels on Zoom.

• Create an inclusive, welcoming digital environment by utilising gentle, low-impact movements like chair yoga, chair Pilates, and equipment-free stretching. 

• Provide simple, adaptable fitness instruction designed for small living spaces and requiring zero specialised equipment.

Main responsibilities:
 

• Plan and lead engaging weekly 30- or 45-minute online classes using clear, simple English to ensure instructions are easy to follow for all participants. 

• Adapt exercises for limited spaces and ensure all routines require no equipment, focusing on bodyweight stretching and gentle movements. 

• Modify poses and movements to offer accessible formats, including seated options like chair yoga or chair Pilates, catering to different physical abilities.

Universe of Life Organization (ULO) is seeking a motivated and committed volunteer to support our international fundraising and grants development. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of an organisation with an international vision and to help mobilise resources for programmes supporting vulnerable communities.

About ULO

Universe of Life Organization (ULO) was founded in Cameroon in 2017 with a vision to serve humanity with love, dignity and solidarity. ULO is preparing an important new chapter in its development, including the establishment of ULO UK in London and the strengthening of its international programmes and partnerships.

The role

The volunteer will support ULO in identifying suitable funding opportunities, researching potential funders and developing strong grant applications and funding proposals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching trusts, foundations, charities, institutions, companies and other potential funders.

Immediate priority – ULO Cameroon Flagship Project

A key priority will be supporting resource mobilisation for ULO’s Women’s and Children’s Resilience and Empowerment Programme, a 12-month pilot programme designed to support 50 vulnerable women and 60 vulnerable children aged 5–15 in Bafoussam, West Region, Cameroon.

The programme focuses on women’s economic empowerment and livelihoods, children’s education and protection, psychosocial and emotional well-being, community resilience, partnerships and sustainability.

ULO has already developed the core project documentation and funding proposal. The volunteer will help identify appropriate funding opportunities and support ULO in presenting the programme to potential funders and institutional partners.

What we are looking for

We are ideally seeking someone with at least 3 years’ experience in fundraising, grant writing, trusts and foundations, partnerships, nonprofit development or a closely related field. Strong research, written English, organisation and communication skills are important.

Experience with UK or international funders is an advantage. French language skills are welcome but not essential.

This is a voluntary, unpaid position, initially requiring approximately 5–8 hours per week, with flexibility to be discussed according to availability and programme needs. The role is UK-based and can be undertaken remotely, with opportunities for London-based collaboration where appropriate.

This position is essential for ensuring that our cats are placed in loving, temporary homes while they await adoption. You will collaborate closely with foster carers, potential adopters, and other volunteers to create a supportive environment that benefits both the cats and their fosters.

Key responsibilities:

• Foster management: Oversee the onboarding and ongoing support of foster carers.

• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for foster carers, addressing any questions or concerns and providing necessary updates. Communication will primarily occur through email and messaging platforms, access to facebook and Whatapp is essential.

• Training and support: Provide guidance and resources to foster carers on cat care, behaviour, and best practices to ensure the well-being of the cats in their care and ensuring our policies and procedures are upheld.

• Coordination of resources: Ensure that foster homes have the necessary supplies (food, litter, etc.) and access to veterinary care as needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring their teams deliver these projects within the agreed time-scales and in line with the goals agreed with the commissioning organisations, growing Youth Advantage’s reputation and reach.

Working closely with the Departmental Director, the ideal candidate will use their prior experience to effectively contribute to the organisation’s ability to enable evidence-based, positive local change. We are looking for a Rehoming Co-ordinator to work alongside. our rehoming team for Cats. There is back up from the Cat Co-ordinator and from the Deputy when needed.

The volunteer will need to:

• Be available during the day to answer and respond to phone calls.
• Love animals, and have some knowledge of cats.
• Be logical
• Be able to keep calm to be able to deal with multiple priorities
• Computer literate
• Good organisation and communication skills 
• Able to use Facebook
• Be flexible with the volunteering times

Main responsibilities of this post

1. Engage with the public, via phone and teams
2. Prioritise the cats needing to come in and fit to the right foster carer
3. Help with the rehoming process
4. Liaise with the vets when required
5. Provide cover for holidays

Role Summary

The People Operations Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration of the People & Culture function, ensuring smooth onboarding, accurate record-keeping, and a positive volunteer experience. This role plays a key part in maintaining organized people operations while also supporting volunteer engagement and appreciation initiatives.

Key tasks

• Coordinate and schedule onboarding sessions in collaboration with the People Lead
• Maintain accurate records by tracking volunteer training completion and participation
• Upload, organize, and manage personnel documentation within Roots’ Google Drive in accordance with confidentiality and data-handling standards
• Support volunteer engagement by planning and organizing logistics for volunteer appreciation events
• Assist with coordination, communication, and follow-up related to recognition initiatives

• Interest or experience in human resources, people operations, administration, or volunteer coordination
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and community-focused approach
