Job description

The Gender and Development Network (GADN) brings together expert NGOs, as well as consultants, academics and individuals committed to working on women’s and girls’ rights, gender equality, racial justice and international development. Our vision is of a world where social justice and gender equality prevail and where all women and girls can realise their rights free from discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that international development policy and practice promotes gender equality and women's and girls’ rights. Our role is to support our members by sharing information and expertise, to undertake and disseminate research, and to provide expert advice and comment on UK government policies and projects.

At this critical time for the international development sector, GADN is recruiting for two new members of its Board of Trustees.  This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the governance and future direction of our dynamic network.   As we continue working to decolonise our practice and build an anti-racist organisation, we actively welcome applications from Black women and Women of Colour who we recognise are under-represented in decision-making spaces in the UK international development sector.

On this occasion, the Board is particularly interested in appointing a Trustee who has experience or understanding of one or more of the following:

  • Experience of senior management
  • Experience of serving as a Trustee

Also an advantage:

  • Experience of working for a GADN member organisation

You will also need to be prepared to devote 6/8 days per year to this exciting role.

For further information and details on how to apply please view our Role Description. The closing date is Sunday 27th April with interviews held on Thursday 8th of May.
